Same reason why people wear Hollister or get 5000 friends on Myspace. It's a status. There are some who do take the time to mute offensive players that just won't shut up, but at the same time there are power-hungry mods who mute someone for swearing once at a friend when he's only just joking around. Generally speaking, most of the mods I ran into either didn't take their job seriously or took it too seriously - they had no purpose. It might be hard to find that balance as a nooby mod, but all you really need is the ability to pick out the players that are detrimental from Runescape from the ones that are harmless. My definition of a good mod would be one that tries to deescalate situations and doesn't act like they are above normal players, instead of one that mutes for the sake of muting and bosses everyone around for a personal fix. It's like that one saying about feeding a man a fish. Muting any rulebreaker you see doesn't solve the problem - instilling sound values into the community is much more effective and beneficial to everyone in the long run.

Casual trading is different than trading with the sole intention of manipulating the prices. I would argue that it's only "manipulation" if you intended for it to be. to change by artful or unfair means so as to serve one's purpose No such thing as accidentally manipulating. As for my thoughts on the thread topic, I don't really like capitalism because it allows things such as taking food out of a hungry person's mouth so you can get a golden unicorn statue for your fountain. However, we're talking about Runescape here, not a situation of life and death. One could argue that it is their money and they should be able to do what they want with it. That's true. But then again, if it is ruining the game can they really be given that sort of freedom?

I agree, those ones do have comical value to them. It's the ones that have nothing else to offer except for the fact that they are memes that get to me, such as Mudkips.

I know the point of them is to be as stupid as possible, thus somehow making them 'funny', but why do you people do it? Tradition? To fit in? To annoy people like me who don't like them? It was a hypothetical question. What I mean is that, in our eyes, we might think we're some sort of non-replicable divine beings, but that wouldn't be so when it came to our makers. If we did have creators they'd probably see us as something similar to a computer program. In other words, it's possible for us to be applications with feelings. I don't think we can crack the mystery of life, nor do I want us to. But I don't doubt the possibility.

I agree with Meol's post. The only reason we can visualize things in our mind is because we've already seen them before. And as for visualizing something that doesn't exist, such as a dragon or goblin, you're merely mixing things that you have seen before. Another thing to note is that dreaming isn't restricted to seeing and hearing. Part of dreaming, for me at least, also consists of your thoughts. While, I'm dreaming I see stuff, hear stuff, and think about stuff. For example, in one dream I recall it being a specific day of the week, even though I never saw or heard anything that lead me to that conclusion. I just *knew*. Maybe blind and deaf people dream like that.

I stop the microwave too, but only when it's really late at night. My dining schedule isn't the same as most people's. I have breakfast after noon, dinner is my lunch, and I eat my real dinner after midnight. I eat when I want to eat. I don't think I should have to starve/engorge just because it's the norm to eat at certain times.

While the idea of a traditional purpose for Defense sounds better to me, an update of that magnitude would cause way too much of an uproar. Not because it would be a bad update, but because 90% of Runescapers are petrified of the word "change".

I thought telling us that he doesn't like any anime is a reasonable post - there isn't much of a point to it, but reasonable nonetheless. If he were to flame anime lovers then that's a different story, but he was merely stating he dislikes it.

As much as I hate to say it, I would just give it to your brother. Your dad threatened to kick you out and you're at the age where he can. Your dad is doing you a favor by letting you stay with him, so you should return the favor even if it means doing something you don't agree with. After this, explain the situation to your friend and tell him why you did what you did. If he's a true friend he would understand where you're coming from.

I feel the same way as you do. Platforming Marios were cool, but then Nintendo ever so persistently tried using their success to sell more games that actually had nothing to do with the original games. Mario Party was good because it sort of implemented the platform aspect into the mini games, but we don't need a freaking Mario game for every single sport out there. Even though there are some Mario games I like, I still think they are overrated as hell.

Exactly. One of the big reasons why I got into so many fights with my Marketing teacher. Sure we should be personally responsible, but that doesn't excuse anything. That's the same logic scammers use to justify their doings. "Well, they shouldn't have fallen for it in the first place." And everyone might know that airbrushing does happen, but how would you know which ones are natural and which aren't? It's easy to tell when a book is fiction, but with a picture it's a little more challenging.
