  1. They said in the BTS this month that MA won't happen for a while still. I'd expect it sometime in the summer at the earliest. no quests for 4 or 5 months good luck with that  Where does it say no quests for 4/5 months? MA = Mobilizing Armies. Minigame, not a quest.
  2. Evil coming? Elves. But why is the Underground pass linked to Tiranwnn anyway? (Don't say "for the quest..."). Were (or are, if Iban truly is immortal) Iban and the Elves cooperating? This would mean that Tyras was a good guy, if elves are his enemies; he is Lathas's brother, in the end. Lathas might be a King, but can make mistakes, for example trying to clear the Making History outpost, or in this situation, thinking of his brother as a "bad guy." Maybe Lathas is really the bad guy here, maybe he knew that outpost was important but wanted to tear it down so some of Kandarin's history could not be revealed. If you think that what I just said was insane, you are correct. After beating Regicide, you find out Lathas IS the bad guy. The underground pass is an ancient pass that was once used as a prime crossing ground between what is now Ardougne and the elf forrest. If Lathas really wanted the outpost destroyed, he could have done it anyways. He's a king. And do remember, elves are like humans. Not distinctly good or evil, it depends on the elf in question. By the way, who remembers the elven prophecy? In MEP2, you get a diary from a dead elf, and he speaks of some prophecy, and wonders if the human that went through the underground pass is the one spoken of in said prophecy. I just hope quest 150 continues a storyline. BTW, for whoever said we need a sequel to "The Forgettable Tale of a Drunk Dwarf" because that quest came out over 3 years ago.....MEP2 came out over 5 years ago I think, and definitely before the Forgettable Tale. MEP2 probably came out before Keldragim did.... EDIT: For everyone who thinks the next elemental workshop quest will be SOUL armor, due to the famous "mind body and soul" mantra, DO remember that the first quest in that series was ELEMENTAL. Not Mind. I'd say the next quest in that series will use cosmics. points to body symbol on big door in the bottom floor of workshop....really does that have anything to do with cosmics? reaserch before you speak The body door isn't open yet. I don't think the soul alter will be from there, it seems more appropriate for the gnome storyline given the stuff with the anima mundi, but even if it is, it would be very unlikely to be the 150th quest, because a) So far, the quests in that series have been very easy, B) The body door (if it ever gets opened) will probably have a quest devoted to it first, and c) So far, the storyline of that quest has been practically zilch as far as in-depth contribution to the lore of Gielinor goes. Agree on hoping like hell it's the next elven quest after sooo looong (CATAPULT CONSTRUCTION DOES NOT COUNT!!!), and I'm wondering whether it, the history questline (the elf outside the barrier, anyone?), and the gnome thingy will all tie together.
  3. Um, no. They should be banned. Zero tolerance policy, stop encouraging people to cheat. i still think a ban is still over doing it maybe a mute or something but no a ban unless its just like for a day or 2. it could be a accident Parallel the abuse of a bug in RuneScape to a burglary. You may not be the one that did the crime, but you fit the description, so you are taken downtown for a while until everything gets sorted out, whether good or bad for you. In real life, the thief can leave town if he isn't caught quickly. What are you going to do, send your RS character on the run? In real life, they need the suspects there to perform tests, lineups (if any witnesses), etc. In the game, they have access to all the information they can get, regardless of whether your character is banned or not. Your comparison fails.
  4. Probably not a new god, but perhaps more information on Seren, and the revealing of the identity of the god the mourners are trying to summon.
  5. Yes. Because as we all know, if there is one thing that will shame you into never breaking the rules again, it's having the username of a banned account posted on the front page of an internet game with a low aged target audience, with a statement saying how bad it was that you abused a bug. They've done this before. Also yes, being told by a company to a paying member that their money's no good here does shame them into not cheating anymore. At least it should. Ah, yes, because that is naming them, and giving such specific details of their account. And they get told that when they get banned, why should a vague, non-precise post, or even one with the username of an account they can't use anymore anyway, make a difference to that?
  6. Yes. Because as we all know, if there is one thing that will shame you into never breaking the rules again, it's having the username of a banned account posted on the front page of an internet game with a low aged target audience, with a statement saying how bad it was that you abused a bug.
  7. I believe that this is the reason, and agree with the view put foreward by Dan, above. I don't understand why almost everyone else can't seem to understand this. Erichermit even showed Jagex explicity stating that you should take 'history' with a pinch of salt to say the least. Why would the average person know what happens in the hardest and longest quests? Only, what, like a handfull of people know what happened in the depths of Lumbridge in While Guthix Sleeps. Just as it is in real life; the truth from actions of old will only come with the deepest reseach into them. Or the internet is invented, and lies are fed to the naive fools whenever it is deemed necessary/profitable/amusing. >_> <_< OT, I have to say, this is a nice piece of work on Jagex's behalf, it both presents multiple viewpoints on the games possible backstory, and inspires a load of conspirators to come up with amusing plots which Jagex can "borrow" when needed.
  8. Thieving plox? Congratulations! You are now level 99 thieving! You can now steal the Stone of Jas from Lucien. Perhaps after the end of the quest chain there could be a minigame or weekly, in which you have to use agility and/or thieving to sneak past some guardians, magic and/or runecrafting to drain away some of it's power (ie, get an exp boost). For story behind it, perhaps say that you are testing the defences for weak points, with exp rewards as an incentive to try hard?
  9. It wasn't exactly an island, you just couldn't walk into the area where hunting now is, so you had to take a boat. However, at some point before they added hunter you could see the fairy ring and some other stuff just south of Piscatoris. That said, Witchaven was added to in as a bump in the coastline outside East Ardougne where before there had only been sea.
  10. Yeh, they pop up there sometimes. You also sometimes get penguins. I think it hapens when people go through the ring, and they somehow get brought along. Seems more like a bug thread.
  11. So long as you don't need a Captcha to stand back up, that sounds good.
  12. It does sound awesome, but I would have to take off my precious shiny helm of Neitiznot, and I love my helm. Still... Black partyhat...
  13. Someone either hasn't done the quest, or didn't read the dialogue. The pouches are just a spell which summons spirits to the world and makes the corporeal. They aren't just random animals shoved in tiny containers.
  14. You teleported to get away from a random person? The ignore list is there for a reason you know, you don't have to stop skilling and run away.
  15. It's fantasy. It doesn't have to fit into real life stereotypes. Remember, the more cute and cuddly looking the race, the more evil they will probably be (I shudder to think how evil the rabbits will turn out to be). Besides, it makes as much sense as the thing with the gnomes and the monkeys.
  16. Hmm, that's two diaries now with a 70 prayer req, I get the feel Jagex is pressuring us...
  17. I may be missing something, but how is this nooby? He may well have been going to bank the weapon when he finished his invent, instead of wasting a trip.
  18. That's because exploration =/= Sailing Exactly, sailing might be a part of exploration, but exploration is a much bigger and better idea. That's like saying that basket weaving is a lame skill, and crafting is the same thing under a different name. Agreed.
  19. Finally, no more logging out because I forgot to press the arrow keys while making cbs. Also, maybe I can get over that automatic thing and stop randomly pressing the arrow keys even when I'm not playing RS. Seriously, I sometimes even do it while playing text based games >.<
  20. How is it against the rules? Also, what's the difference between a single person merching and a clan merching? Wouldn't an average clan merching just be the same as a single rich person merching? Don't think it's technically against the rules, but there is a big difference: the limits on traded items. Each player can only trade so many of a certain item within a given time period. With a clan, that's a lot more.
  21. Money should take effort to get. And I highly doubt Jagex intended to add the ability to manipulate the prices so easily with the grand exchange, I would think it'd be more the challenge of how can they stop artificial price changes without stopping natural price changes. Price manipulating does not seem to go with the "spirit of the game". It takes a lot more effort to think things through, find the best investment opportunities, pick the right time to sell off investments, find more and repeat, than it does to find one method of skilling or killing for cash and mindlessly doing that over and over again. According to your standards, people IRL that work in skilled jobs (like people working for Jagex, funnily enough) should make a lot less money than people that just stack shelves at their local supermarket, because they aren't "working for it" and it's not as much "effort". Excuse everyone else for using the brains they have... And really, stop trying to make all merchanting, including investing, out to be the same as price manipulation, it just makes you look clueless. Context! He was talking about price manipulation and he was sounding it takes very little effort. I was responding to him sounding like it takes little effort. I do not think all merchanting is price manilpulation. I do not think all merchanting takes little effort and/or time. I do not think skilled jobs deserve less money. I do not think making money should as hard as soloing the Corporeal beast. Ah, good. So, are we to take it this post was just some kind of joke then? The point of old merchanting was about making lots of money for yourself, supplying items to people just happened to be how you did it. The wholesale and retail comparison only works for one type of pre-grand exchange merchanting, the one where you say buy rune hatchets from a rune smith and then sell to other people, which was by large the least profitable type of merchanting I would think. Even if you are just buying at the lowest and reselling at the highest, you are still screwing people out of money. You are screwing the people that actually need/want that item out of the possible of paying less for what they need. Really? So you force them to buy the items at your price? After all, they can just spend the time to get the items at other prices, it's not like you just have people who are magically incapable of buying except from you. [/hide] My point is just that it does negatively effect the buyer, whether it be 'having' to buy for more or waiting (longer) to get cheaper. I was not trying to say anything about if the negative effect is enough to be bad or if it is justifiable, or anything else about it. I was just trying to say it exists. (which was probably unnecessary) Actually, in the cases without price manipulation, it has no effect on the buyer whatsoever. After all, it's just the G.E price, it doesn't make a difference to them whether you bought it 3 days before for much less, they would get the same price from everyone. In the cases with price manipulation, there's nothing to stop the buyer from jumping aboard as well: buying, selling for a bit more soon after, waiting for crash then picking up several of whatever they are buying dirt cheap, with a bit of profit, however many for themselves, and a few spares to be sold off when the price goes back up. Perhaps some negative effect, but in general a positive outcome. Hardly worth banning anyone who takes part in any form of merchanting, eh?
  22. No the first sentence fits just fine. Idiocy Sure the chance is there. But it's so small that it's negligible. I could go through every bts and find something that can possibly be a new skill. O! M! G! :o Re-read the BTS with the "Leave no stone unturned" line. This is clearly a reference to the upcoming "Wriggly thing catching". We'll have to use planks to lever over the rocks dotted across RS, and catch the bugs and stuff underneath in jars. Use crafting and high level workshop furniture to improve the planks and make custom levers, making it possible to lift them easier and quicker, improving the chance that something awesome won't have time to get away while you overturn the rock. Some of these will be used for new herblore potions, others for summoning, and we will be able to use a combination of magic, herblore and summoning to grow the things bigger, give them abilities, and just generally making them more awesome, by having them as summoning pets and feeding them magical potions. These will then be able to be used for all sorts of things: Mining will be much more AWESOME! with GIANT WRIGGLY THINGS! ( ) digging up ores, possibly leading to the much anticipated "tunnelling" skill, which will rely on mining, crafting and construction, and will be gone into at a later date. It might even help with the upcoming archaeology skill, and the hotly anticipated "Drilling holes to the eastern lands", the "Busting into the elven city that should have been released years ago godsdamnit" and the "Getting around that stupid gate in Varrock bank basement, or into any banks for that matter, hey, I could probably bust in and score me a phat or two, nice inspiration *D" skills/miniquests/w\e. Crafting will get access to all kinds of awesome new materials, like chitin, for creating armour and weapons, and it could be combined with smithing and fletching to upgrade current equipment. Who knows, perhaps people with high summoning and attack/defence/range/mage can wield living weapons/armour!!one! Firemaking will be more useful as it will be combined with slayer, as the giant tunnelling thingies will get you access to the tunnels and lairs and w/e of some really giant boss tunnelling thingies and their minions, who are all weak to fire, the bigger the better, and may have something to do with some kind of oil for flaming weapons, maybe some kind of NPC who hates them and wants to hunt them or extinctemify (Word? Probably not.) them or something, I don't know. For farming, think of all the awesome things they could do to compost to improve it, and they could really improve vinesweeper (mental picture of a rabbit running for stuff, giant worm thingy head comes out of ground with mouth around rabbit, sinks back down, other rabbits bugger off. Muahahaha.) Fishing, you could get some awesome bait, and after you get down to the caves where the tunnels go you could fish all kinds of awesome stuff, maybe you come across smeagol and he teaches you if you gets us- him, that is, hahaha... >.>- a supply of rings, maybe changed to some other kind of jewellery and with a different name for him, don't want any copyright lawsuits after all. Helps cooking too, what with the new fish, the weird bug thingies, and the probability of all kinds of edible roots and stuff down below. Hunter should be fairly obvious, given the large numbers of creatures introduced, maybe they could even make it so that it was needed to find the big boss monster trails, something like that anyways. Maybe some kind of under-underground-lake-water swimming thing where you catch stuff... Runecrafting, well, who knows whats down there, maybe the soul altar? Probably some rune essence, too Prayer, some new bones might be nice, and we could probably find some primitive (or not, of course) crawly thing god that gives a couple of nice prayers, failing that wearing living creatures for armour is sure to impress the gods, right? Prayer bonuses FTW. Thieving, how awesome would it be to tunnel up inside places and get to loot them, just think of all the trapped but unguarded treasure chests lying around. Woodcutting could probably be handy for clearing roots out of tunnels and stuff like that, plus of all the awesome followers, surely one can eat trees and spit logs. Maybe even planks, which would be handy for con Which would also be useful for building re-enforcements for tunnels and stuff. That just leaves agility, and it should be blatantly obvious how handy that would be in cramped underground tunnels and navigating cracks in the wall. Oh, and I guess we can shove a couple of boats or w/e in the underground lakes for sailing. Might have to be renamed boating or something though, I dont think paddling or poling really carry the image too well. Awesome skill, right? And its ok to speculate about, because Jagex gave us hints. Well, a hint, but Ill see if I can find some more. Oh, and yes, I am aware that I said awesome rather too many times in this, but I cant help it, Im just that excited. After all, the tunnels can be used as transport, so we can finally bypass all those tellies, transportation networks and ships. Also, as you can no doubt tell some of the names need a bit of work >.<
