  1. This is just a thread to show people's progress over time. I hope that you will practice just 5-20 minutes each day, doodle away and post what you came up with. After 5 months you will be surprised at how much better you are doing. They don't have to be good drawings. But I have seen these kind of threads and people really improve over time. The key is consistency. Feel free to comment in this thread, post your work, etc. We can make one big Tip sketchbook! There are no assigned topics. Draw whatever comes to mind. In addition anyone is welcome to color/paint any of my linework. If others wish to make theirs available they can post a notice.
  2. Yeah I thought of including that, but the one guy gave you high marks thinking it was tatoo art! so perhaps it is better to let them guess?
  3. Very nice work! Do more of em! Great illustration work on the guy especially.
  4. Glad to see someone doing some painting! Good work. he bottom lip is probably the most developed part so far. Keep going!
  5. Yeah, that sig is about as nice as your soon to be avatar title....."Banned" It is a legitimate reason to remove a sig.
  6. Yes he does...but I am not sure he did it here. For one it is not simple. The lines make it busy. And I don't think that everything he does is meant to be simple. He just has that rep. He has been type cast. I like the tree. I like the text. I like the box. I just don't like the big grey lines. I know they are kind of necessary to tie it all together... hm...not sure what to tell you on this one. I just don't see that it says anything about you, is a good example of your design skills, or really has anything to recommend it. It doesn't make any statement, or have any relation to anything that I would associate with you. I hate to be harsh sounding, and I know it is coming out that way, I just don't think it works. You have an organic vibrant element with a harsh synthetic, not even mechanical, just abstracted cold line thing. And the blending just looks like you erased it in rather than tried to blend the two concepts in some way that would make the brain make sense of it. The colors kind of clash..the whole idea clashes. Maybe that is what you were going for? Not sure.
  7. yeah I do too, but deadlines are deadlines, and if they kept getting pushed back the thing would never happen. Sorry. I wanted to include some others too but couldn't.
  8. I am about to post the final entries. Please review the post! http://s9.invisionfree.com/Runescape_Ar ... st=0last Itachi, I am sorry, but the deadline was thursday. You did not have the requisite 4 works in by then. I imagine we will have other contests in the future, perhaps some in specific genres...you could compete in an animation one.
  9. It looks pretty good so far, but the hazy bg is really distracting. Try ramping the contrast, etc.
  10. try pulling a shade in the room etc.....very dark images can be washed out by visible light.... or it could be that you are using a light skin on the forums. I find that some images that look great on sub black look terrible on sub silver, so when making it in my program I take that into account.
  11. Very nice! For artpad especially. This shall spread your turtle fascination with greater speed !
  12. I am not sure the star wars type receding text works for me, but I like the yellow line. The quotes should stay on the subtext though. Overall I like it.
  13. The deadline is delayed until Thursday at 8 eastern due to technical problems at rsc, which kept a reminder post from being displayed....seemed only fair.
  14. As I understand it , it is pc art only...If you have some, feel free to post it. If not, just post the traditional and we can hash out the details later, as the deadline is approaching. But for instance..if you colored a pencil drawing, that would be fine etc.

I like it :) Who cares if it is cartoony. It has clean lines, a decent idea. Keep drawing!
  16. So far Keiphus and the wifey and I are in for sure. Beyond that....up in the air...some like to procrastinate. Er...meant to edit..ah well.
  17. It is not dead.We will just have 3 artists instead of 7. Most of the ones who we would like to do it appear to be busy, or...busy making rs gp.

I might eventually do more of this type, but this style doesn't work for a lot of subject matter...will see though!
  19. The animation is done well. I think the black screen kind of kills it a bit. Perhaps a pause after the bottles break for the viewer to contemplate what just happened...then the black screen, maybe with your name...then restart. Not sure, but otherwise, seems to convey the thought :)

Thanks :) I changed the hair and a few other things that were bugging me. I like it better now. It seems I always wind up messing with it after I post it for a while.

I long ago lost the reference to the drawing that forms the base for this one. Some may recognize the drawing that I had as a deviation for a while. I wanted again to preserve a lot of the original pencil lines under the paint. This is kind of a new way of doing things for me, and so far it is fun. I don't plan on doing it that often, but the rough look went well with this one. http://www.deviantart.com/view/16257258/
  22. Yes, I am waiting to hear from 3 of our better artists...I hope they reply in time. As for the lipstick..sure, a short clip can be one piece.

    A. I don't hate you B. As I said, use it if you want. Whether you meant the graphical elements of the quote in your request is not the point. Certainly you were under no delusion that this would be the usual rate my sig post. You said you knew it would get a reaction. So why act suprised? If you want to use it, fine. But to act shocked or defensive or self righteous when people comment on it is just silly. It is your view. Fair enough. Everyone else just stated their view too. In fact, it reminded me to get out this old signature I made. I don't object to your right to say what you think. I just want the same rights without everyone freaking out that religion came up in a post. So what if it did? Religion is a fact of life in this world.
  24. tttia replied to Azvareth's topic in Art and Media
If the man asks for input on his quote, and his quote is clearly referring to a religious issue, what exactly are we to do? Perhaps his whole thread should be moved there. It is a religious issue. You don't slap pictures of Jesus on things and make a quote about it and expect it not to get into religious discussion. And Azvy, if you don't believe in it, why don't you go PROSTITUTE the images of something you DO believe in just for attention and leave Jesus out of it? Or at least let people say what they want about it without getting an attitude. If you want to use it fine. But once you suggest the whole topic, ask for feedback on the quote ,etc. don't act surprised and indignant when people take you up on it. Oh and for those following along at home "sensitive" does not mean saying "I respect everyone", then saying anyone who doesn't agree with you should shut up, grow up etc. So stop pretending to be sensitive and just say your opinion. Don't hide behind some politically correct slogans, because the truly sensitive among us wouldn't have posted here at all.

You sure can. I made it some time back for anyone to use.
