New Style.....
It basically goes for a SLIGHTLY more commercial look with clearner lines, less busyness, presenting data. I think it is good to have more of that around. It comprises most of what we see in real world computer graphics because people always have to present ideas. But the scan lines and small text make it hard to read. The washed out grey/black would look better if darker. oh..l.was typing while it was written but I agree transparent or glassy effects would work too. The stroke around only part of the blue "brag card" portion looks odd too. That type of thin outline just doesn't work with this style in my book. You want clean and bold, not busy and hard to read. One other slight thing is that the blue on the brag card and the decorative strip there are the same tone, but because they are different widths and one is surrounded by all white, where the other is partly in dark the thicker one next to the great appears just slightly darker. This effect can often happen, forcing you to make slight adjustments for PERCEIVED color. And if you are going to present data, why not present something about yourself, rather than boasting of what amounts to your bank account. Hope to see more :)

Actually, I will just post the link..get it before my bandwidth runs out! It is small though, 440 k for the whole thing zipped, and runs independently, no registry entries or anything. http://ankite.homestead.com/files/oc.zip here is my first ever completed project in open canvas. I had it around for a while but ...never really liked it. But I managed to get a feel for part of it. And it is not really that bad. Some people do amazing things with it. It's layers system is odd...defaults to multiply.....and watercolor is the only usable mode. ...and even that is hard to control on opacity. But hey, you can make event files which let people watch how you paint. Like art pad on steroids so to speak. it has layers, etc. And you can see all the tools used when watching events. This one is a bit messy since I was playing around, but check out the event file! It shows the progress: http://ankite.homestead.com/files/flowertest.wpe with lvls adjust just download it. Open oc, go to FILE............IMPORT EVENT FILE ....find the file and load it up. Or open it from current location , it might already be associated...just click the file and it will go. To watch it with faster play back go to: SHOW ........EVENT PLAYING WITH WEIGHT....and uncheck it.

Thanks, you should see some of them being done over at rsc! We have a few folks there who are tearing it up too. I like this artpad trend. It is a tough program to work with, but fun. We could also investigate open canvas. It is free, a decent painting program, and what you make you actually keep the rights to unlike art pad. And you can export the event file so people see your work just as they do with artpad. Plus you can do network connections and do collaborations where you paint on the same canvas. i have the program hosted if anyone wants it.

Old And New.
hm, ok. anyway, here is the sister comment. And again, doesn't really make a big difference to me either way. I didn't have anything against Mary Popp when he left. So I am not bothered if it was you. In fact, if it was, as I said, would be a lot of progress. and if not, oh well, stranger things have happened. No biggy. I got confused by a lot of name changes when the old tip boards went down anyway. In fact, I still don't think I worked them all out...anyone have a list? lol. Just like to think back to old times lol.

Which brings up an interesting question. Terley, who is Mary Popp? I mean, I know who Mary Popp WAS on the old boards. And so do a few others. But when you first came here you posted on different threads that a. Mary was your brother b. Mary was your sister c. Mary and you shared this account d. Mary was your rs screen name in your shop, and people could add you on that name e. Mary got your rs screen name banned f. Mary did mostly abstracts, but you don't g. on the daily sketch thread you posted two drawings ...not abstracts, and when I asked who you were you said...its me, Mary Popp. h. You later said you don't play rs but that you give the money to your little brother or your cousin. i. Why would you even mention that you were Mary Popp's brother when ...Mary didn't exactly impress a lot of folks. so..... either you are a character sharer who has a trans-gendered sibling who ruins your runescape and tip forums life but who you continue to share an account with.... or you are Mary Popp and wanted a new start. Incidentally am not asking this to embarass you. I only ask because if you were Mary Popp then you really have improved a lot. And that is a good thing. But if you are, then why not just clarify it, move on and forget it. Only probably three of us even know who Mary Popp was anyway. And you hvae a good reputation now.

no free religion? in other countries
it is estimated by some that there were more Christian Martyrs alone in the last century than all the ones before it. Check here for a site on Christian martyrs...I have not information on other groups, though of course the atheistic nations would seemingly repress all of them. http://www.persecution.com/ http://www.persecution.com/basic/prison ... ountry=ALL

Do soccer (football) players ever get brain damage?
I remember seeing a news report on the subject once, actually focusing on youth players more than the adults. I know the adults kick harder, but brain development is more of a concern early on. And apparently they thought it did have some effect even if it was not hard enough to cause a concussion etc. I don't know what that would mean from years of it, that report was a couple of years ago at least.

Magical Forest---elf (sort of ) girl inside--updeated!!1
ep, just a graphics battle with a few painters over at rsc. Nothing huge. as to the name....there is a story behind it. I think Nadril knows it, seeing as I posted it before, and he is the consumate troll :) (seem to recall him commenting on it at the time). And in my clan a lot of people in voice would just say tia or plain old "t" The similarities to ch-ch-ch-chia pets has not gone without notice, though that was not the origin.

I have posted early sigs before, but since I don't do a lot of sigs anymore, will post early and recent drawings These were some of the ones from when I first started...maybe at age 12-13...I didn't draw much before that. some of my recent ones...

since someone finally did a bear, guess I should switch topics :) angels...I still hope to get the bear done. but I keep drawing other things lately. yeah I was going for the old style, loose really airy water color look. I have done some detail stuff in watercolor like my cat picture, but that is dry brush, and doesn't really look the same in painter. here is my portrait of a truffle sniffing pig....on artpad http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?ilzsrp16qfso Here is today's work. Drawing from life, quick poses. no shading , while working out haha. Makes for a moving target, but that is alright. Considering it came out pretty well. Life drawing is so much more fun. You get a huge reference, and I worked on an 18x12 sketch pad so had plenty of room to stretch it out there. Great fun! I need to do more of this. Maybe we can start a clothed figure drawing group around town or something.

Just dug these up.... a quick review of my old drawings.... These were some of the ones from when I first started...maybe at age 12-13...I didn't draw much before that. a lot of my early works I derived from D&D books, didn't know what else to draw. here was a bit later one. In fact, this one had a date on it...I drew it on the back of a grade report from governemnt class haha. would have been about 16 at the time. then I went through a phase where I did conan style :) Some of them were decent...had more detail, but way off on proportions :) speaking of proportions, check out that head! haha probably my favorite from that era.... later I started drawing from national geographics after college. I never had a real drawing class. the only art class I had at all was a loosely structured water color class, so I taught myself. I still have a long ways to go, but I can really say I have improved. I was suprised too at how much I had practiced. I had tons of old stuff. That is the key folks...practice :)

did something new
the first two were all hand painted by him. Some of the concept stuff out there is simply insane. And yeah, it can be depressing haha. BUt hey, also inspiring. Keep working! check these two also.... http://forums.sijun.com/viewtopic.php?t=39641 http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50371

Don't let them talk you out of it :) This is a great start. and as for ps making things blurry..... check out this thread folks..first two were hand painted by this guy. For that matter, check out every post at that forum except for mine. They are PROS. This guy in fact was working for epic games as a concept artist. http://forums.sijun.com/viewtopic.php?t=39434 Oh, and don't post any work on that forum unless you want to be ...er...treated poorly. They tend to ignore people who are not pros. Most of the time they don't comment on mine at all, I just happened to get lucky and got two people to look at mine this time.

not bad! keep doing the digipaints :) The one issue I see is the face is a bit lopsided on the lower left...] The backgrounds are easy...if ya did the first part right. always work in a new layer and just do the bg behind it :) if you ddin't use much AA you can always pick it up with the magic wand tool and put it into the top layer even now.
