I've noticed this too, but it has been doing that for as long as I can remember, so I think it is the famed memory leak. Anyway, I've used Firefox less than a year, Opera being better.

Actually, it depends on the brand and model of the router. I've seen some that it was 192.168.0.1(mine), 192.168.2.1, and 192.168.1.1.

It has been there for a while. Although it's not Avira that took over, but AVG and Avast that have fallen to those antiviruses that are not good anymore. AVG has trouble detecting viruses and has more false positives than Avira. Avast, only has one problem they have to correct: False positives, [cabbage]loads of them. Oh and also the way it deletes viruses, since it only deletes part of them. Avira still has false positives, but is by far the one that detects the most viruses between the free antiviruses. Here, simple explanation from my experience and small reseach I do periodically to stay updated on what the good antiviruses are.

If you have AVG, chances are that it only took care of part of the problem. I would get Avira Antivir and scan with it.

Will be to Canadian College and Uni students starting on october 22 too. All I have to do is to get a college email, since they just took our emails when we started college.

Currently, the best free antivirus is Avira antivir. From the little research I've done, and with my experience with antiviruses, AVG has fallen 2 years ago and is one of the worst currently. Avast, is still good, but has [cabbage]loads of false-positives.

Just don't get McAfee at all. It's one of the worst antiviruses out there, it's even [bleep]ing up my teachers and fellow students that loaned their laptops at college. (freezing laptops and crashes the laptop alltogether when right clicked on).

I just got a question because of what I just found. The tip.it image at the top brings to the forum index instead of the website, are you going to put it back like it was or just keep it like that?

I don't know about the wireless card, but I think you might just be too far, depending on the number of walls you have between the router and your computer. And for the second part, are you on Mac or Windows, you weren't really clear as to what you're on.

I guess you're right. Anyway I still went for the one I think is the best, the other one, Bell-Aliant, charges an arm, while Rogers, the one I'm with, has 10 times the speed for a bit less on the monthly payment, but has a limit.

They are simply providing what their users want. Most (probably 99%+) users just want fast downstream and care very little about the upstream. If the ISP can get away without providing them with more upstream bandwidth, it will. That means we can call them and ask for more upstream?

I don't know, I have the fastest connection we can have in my region (New Brunswick, Canada), and I'm satisfied with it.

Actually, nowadays any computers can run RSHD with full details, except those on integrated intel graphics cards. Even though the desktops cost less, most laptops enter in your budget (is that what that 2000 is? although computer prices are far from this amount nowadays). You are right when you say that laptops last less than desktops, though, because of the heat factor, but it's not too much of a difference. Do you want a desktop or a laptop?

Maybe a setting in your firewall? Although I think it wouldn't let you transfer at all if it was that, but still worth checking.
