I don't know why you would need to upgrade your computer, it looks fine to me. I have a DVI to HDMI adapter on my computer and has a resolution of 1680x1050 on that screen, so I think any resolution can go through HDMI, it just depends on what the TV can have as resolution. I do remember seeing adapters that had a separate DVI and sound input and had an HDMI output.

Well, with such an old computer you can't expect it too keep playing the games, they always update RS, it's normal it takes more juice.

Try installing DX8 on your computer? It's supposed to just add up to your already there DX10. Anyway, I remember I had to do it for Cod4 because of some DX9 stuff missing.

I don't know if they fixed it, but Seagate had a firmware bug (or something like that) that limited the performance of the drive or something on their 1TB+ hard drives, but that's if I recall correclty. I'd go with WD 1TB drives as they corrected the bug much a very long time ago just to be safe.

If it works, maybe try using imgburn to make a .iso of the game, and then mount it on a virtual drive that a program like Daemon tools makes. I never really asked myself that question and usually use the CD, that's the reason I don't know if imgburn will make a good .iso if the game is protected.

It might be the MFT (Master File Table). If I recall correctly, there's always some MFT at the middle of the partition/drive. The window's partitionner can't move that.

Nice, with the time part, you now get the same times I get with Vista x64 (except for the wake up from sleep, which takes about 20-30 (never really timed this one since I don't make it sleep often) seconds on my Vista. The upgrade seems to suit you good :). On second though, my boot up time takes about 40 seconds, just timed again.

About the Ram, it's simply shared with the Graphics card, if it's an onboard one. No interference at all. For the sound card, I'm not sure, but the black one, I think it's for the base or something. You should go in the control panel and set it tu surround sound maybe?
