1440x900 is quite high def on a 17" screen, that's what I have.

If an antivirus that got all the viruses that existed, everyone would have it. There are no antivirus that catches all the viruses, and that's why we also have more than one program to get the Viruses/Spyware/Adware, most anti-spyware also catch the trojans, from what I've seen. Avira Antivir has a better detection rate than most antiviruses, that's why we say it's good. It detects much more viruses than most.

Yet if you go with a good antivirus like Kaspersky or Nod32 or Avira, you will find 150 more viruses :roll: Norton is trying to come back though, it takes less resources than before, but still has quite a crappy detection rate.

If that Endpoint program is/becomes the same as Norton :? :ohnoes: Good antivirus programs are Avira Antivir for a free one, and Kaspersky for a paid one. Really, AVG is at rock bottom right now.

You won't find it on the website, you have to use the "chat with a technician" thing I think, since the email I sent them (when I wanted to upgrade my BIOS), the answer had nothing to do with what I was asking. I don't know if it's going to be better if you chat with them.

Core 2 duo is by far the best of those processors, I suggest you go with the computer that has it as it's processor.

I think the operating system's price is enough of a reason for some people to pirate, but I guess I dunno.

Press the Windows key and break (not far from print screen) at the same time. Then look at where it says system type, it will tell you if it's 64bit.

If he never tried DDR, I would ask him to try it, even if it's just trying once. I have a friend that has it, and only got the chance to play it once, but that's one hell of a good game. Shame that I don't have enough money right now to buy it because of college lol.

Is your Vista 32 bit or 64 bit? Yes, it does make a difference, had to change something in my Java after installing Vista 64bit.

If only one of the adapters is G, the router will use G instead of N to let everyone benefit of the connection. That would mean that maybe someone doesn't have N in your network. As for the poster above me, I had that speedstream a while ago, until I changed ISP for bad service. That's a modem that really sucks, personnally had to reinitialize it at least twice a day to keep the connection. Very bad service with the company is another matter.

hobgoblinpie, do you at least know what you're talking about? N has the speed of one of the others and the range of another of the others, in other words, the best of the two worlds, anyway, that's what they told us at college (if what I wrote made sense). G had the speed but not the range (or was it the other way around? I'm going to have to go read that part again in my cisco course to make sure). If the computer is right beside the wireless router, you don't need more than G. It will cost much less. Although, if you want to keep up with the technology, then wireless N is alright. Linksys is a very good brand for those routers/switches, they are even made by Cisco (well the company is a sub company of Cisco as far as I got told), and I personnaly like D-Link, which has served me very well for 6 years until recently that I replaced the one I had with a wireless one, and still have no problems. If your dell has a minimun of quality, the adapter on it will be able to do a/b/g/n. At least that's what my laptop is capable, adding BlueTooth to that. I see a lot of people having problems with Dell computers, so I recommend changing to another brand such as HP or Asus.

Italian sounds fun! Anyway, I fluently speak English and French, but I have a strong French accent when I speak English :-# . I'm leaning towards a third language as well though, Spanish is the one I want to learn now, since it sounds pretty nice and is also used a lot.

First questions first: Was it new? I have never heard of computers that were brand new and had Novell installed on them.

Mine would be my Asus notebook for its extreme quality, compared to what I had before. Even if it's not the greatest specs for a laptop, since it's a few years old, it perfectly does the job. Anyway I still have my "recycled" hp media center desktop that I use for games and such.

That is a false rumor you're trying to spread. There are Viruses for Macs, but they are much less present for the fact that most people are on Windows. Most of the Viruses do like most of the Windows Viruses I encounter do: Make their way through using user errors. At least it's like that starting with Vista and also in Windows 7 (UAC anyone?).
