To install a mac OS you need to be on a Mac computer.

If you have heating problems on your HP desktop, there's chances it's too clogged up with dust. I have upgraded quite a lot my HP computer, I even put a 9800GT instead of the 7300LE that was in there and I have no heating issues.

Actually, when it comes to laptops, the Hp ones tend to heat a little too much. Right now the best laptop brand seems to be Asus.

Could you give the brand and the model of the computer? Maybe, just maybe there's a chance to be able to get a good psu in there.

I agree with Joe on this one. New computers are relatively inexpensive nowadays.

Uhm, use the function keys to make it appear on the second screen, it's Fn + F7 on most laptops.

OldJoe's PSU is quite better than the one you have chosen, it would be a bad decision not to change.

Only checkin fast here, but that Power supply is a bit on the low side for the number of Amps on the 12V rail. You should also go for more than 2GB RAM (well, you didn't metion buying that 2GB pack more than once), since it's quite low for today's average amount of RAM.

Imo, you should go away from Dell and get an Asus/HP computer. Best is always to build it yourself though.

It is also good to make sure XP works good after resizing before installing the new OS on the new Partition, so if it doesn'T work, you know you shrinked it too much.

I had to change the mouse because of that, it's because it was worn out. Maybe that's the case with you too. My mouse either doubleclicked or didn't click at all.

WoT tells me spyboy is not really reliable :roll: . Also I don't think Windows defender is good. I disabled it because it keeps blocking my programs, and we have it by default in Vista. Always had to presse "unblock". Then came that "hotfix" that enabled back the windows defender and security center and such things that I had disabled because they were annoying me. Windows defender seems to block things we see, but not what we don't see (ie, runs behind).

Vista x64 is much faster than Windows 7 Beta x64 for me. I will see if it's still the case with Windows 7 RC - I will probably dual boot. Just saying, no need to quote me on that.

Saying it's because of Vista is completely unrelated, or else most people that have Vista would have trouble like you. Also, for the ram, if you were on 1GB RAM and Vista, I can understand they made you upgrade de RAM, but you wouldn'T have needed to go over 2GB total though, but 3 is perfect. As for the friewall, we would need to know which firewall you use.

In mexico, they don't have that natural immunisation against normal flu, so it's normal for it to be more lethal for them then us, but I maintain my position on the fact that we don't need to worry about the swine flu virus as long as it doesn't kill more people than the normal flu.
