I boot on Windows Vista Ultimate in 30 seconds, from power button to fully loaded desktop. Windows is installed on my 32MB cache - 1TB hard drive that cost me $110CAD a while ago. I personnally think that's fast enough, no need to spend more than what I paid for a 1TB on a 32GB SSD that will be filled in no time.

He seems to be saying the fan goes towards the top and not the bottom. My power supply is made the same way as the one he chose, and the fan is facing the inside of the case rather than the top, where it wouldn't suck any air. In the pic, they just put the fan upwards to show it I think.

Really? He can go to msconfig and deselect some startup programs, and it will make his windows load much faster. Also a defrag.

"Previous fan failure" and "Primary hard disk drive 0 failure" is enough to tell that the computer's done for.

What is the name of your processor?

Are your Java and video card drivers up to date?

I noticed it too, I'm 93 mining and yet lower (like in the 80s) keep getting the rocks I mine. It's been doing that for quite a long time too.

I don't know about a program letting you have more than one mouse, but I do know that you can have more than one mouse plugged in and they both would work on the same onscreen mouse. I'm just wondering, what do you mean by programming, you mean coding? Cause I personnally find it much easier to use the keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing (in Fx). Works pretty well, except for the search bar, and the fact that a Fx bar will pop up if you hover your mouse too far to the top. But yes... it'll do. It's just not perfect. It's about 95% fullscreen, so I'm 95% happy :P Then get Opera! F11 makes it completely full screen! :P

Actually, if you press F11 in your browser, that makes your virtually full screen, depending on the browser.

That's why they decided to make it so Rs streches to fit most of the screen, that way it could work for people that don't have only one screen, so instead of having an empty screen and the other at full screen, they can both be used, either one for Rs or both for Rs.

You shouldn't get the drivers from Microsoft (control panel as you say) since they are most of the time outdated. It is better to get the updated drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the computer if it's a prebuilt, or from the websites of the part's manufacturers if it's a built computer.

Yet everyone in my classes that have problems with their computers at college have Dell computers, not even the people with acer computers have trouble.

I don't think Jagex monitors who has the ads blocked or not, you won't be banned for blocking de ads. I've been doing it for years and yet I never got a black mark for it.

Nice computer, but expect to start having problems with it soon enough.

Actually, I think 15.4 in is the right size for a laptop screen, still 1440x900 as resolution and a good screen size, while still greatly portable. My 17in screen laptop seems to big to carry sometimes. And I have to carry it a lot for college.

Hijackthis does not catch all viruses anymore, so there's a chance there still is a virus somewhere, but for the most part, you're safe.

I use both Vista64 and Windows 7 64bit and have yet to have a driver issue. May it be on the desktop or laptop.

Actually, not only did AVG fall to become one of the worst antiviruses, but so did Avast. Even my biased friend that was saying avast was the best recently decided to change antivirus because he said it sucked too much. I would say kill both McAfee and AVG and get Avira Antivir. If the ads bug you, then disable them. If you want to pay for an antivirus though, Kaspersky or NOD32 is the way to go. Also, for antispyware, no need to run a few at a time. Running more than one antivirus and one antispyware at a time is quite the same as having no protection at all.
