Heh, here it's the Visual Basic teacher, apparently, last year she threw an eraser to a guy that was sleeping in class, it almost hit him. Yesterday, I saw her throw a pencil to someone that was almost asleep while I was in the class. Funny thing is it ended up as being part of the explanation she was giving lol.

I don't know why the download is using all my CPU though, it ran at 100% while doing the download and nothing else was open =\. Been doing that for a few days now, I don't know if it's the CPU that is too hot to process as well as usual or something :|

Reminds me of the story where there's this Canadian guy that got imprisoned in the U.S. because he was unknowingly crossing the border with marijuana. Apparently some guys put it inside the trailer walls of his truck while he wasn't there. Imprisonned 23 december 08. His wife has to pay millions (I don't remember how much exactly) to get him out of there, and since she doesn't have that money, she's pleading to Canadian gov for help, but as slow as the Canadian gov goes, the guy's going to be there for years.

I didn't study at all in high school and still did very high on the exams etc. Now in college, I study by making programs/reading over my notes, since I'm in a programming course, the only way to study C++ for example is to make programs.

Junk trading = :thumbdown: . It didn't affect me, well not directly. I always did most of my things on my own and am much this way, I almost never even need to trade. The only problem is the people junk trading. It's so annoying when you try to trade someone for only geepees and they want to trade junk.

Hmm, I'm going to follow this topic a bit, I have the same problem with my 22" widescreen monitor, when I plugged it on the laptop using hdmi it flickered to the point I almost couldn't see anything. I'll start by updating the drivers though.

Maybe you're missing some codecs, so maybe the k-lite codec pack could help you here.

Well, you could still try to update your driver? There may be a slight chance SP3 made a change somewhere in the driver, I Think.

One thing though, Avast has a lot of false positives, so it would be a wise choice to look up what it finds before deleting it. I speak of experience.

I know that it's something normal with Windows XP Media Center Edition. If it's not the version of XP you have, maybe it can be something in the updates like someone suggested. And if they're set to be automatic, you will not always see them through, I would check ;).

No, AVG is not as good as it used to be, now it is pretty much the same thing as McAfee and Norton, with low detection rates etc. Kaspersky and NOD32, on the other end, update practically every 2 hours (Kaspersky does, NOD32 a little less), and they scan much better and have good detection rates. Kaspersky even has a good firewall. As for free alternative, I would recommend Avira, which is currently one of the best free antiviruses.

Well, as last resort you can still check with a professional, but I guess that would be expensive. As for a Vista computer, Vista is much better than XP and works very well, since the release of SP1 and a few updates, and I can say that by personnal experience. I was like you, following the crowd and thinking it sucked until I tried it.
