Why not? All computers come with vista new now. I already know. Anyway, I would suggest Vista still, as from experience I can say Vista is faster and better than XP. I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but you Vista haters should try it before saying anything about it.

Haha, I'm running Vista ultimate with aero and all only running 49 processes \ 76 is pretty average though, I just like tweaking my OS and stripping it down as much as I can keeping the eyecandy. Wow, I have like 80, and I don't have many running apps other than AVG, which takes up 3. :( Makes me miss XP. Haha, checked today on my laptop, which I didn't really tweak, just a bit of msconfig, and it was running 77 processes (while having vmware running though, which adds like 8 processes) but my friend was running 88 processes on his Vista laptop, so you're not the worst I've seen. On topic: It seems to me that it's an update that Jagex did that made you start to lag, that kind of lag problems has been going on for over a year to multiple users, including myself a while back, and yes, I have a dual core CPU. You can only hope that problem gets resolve next update, took me like 3 month before I could play lagfree again, and the only thing that had changed is that Jagex had done an update.

The answer to your first question is Yes, you can use them both one using DVI and the other using the VGA adaptor. You shouldn't have much problems running both screen even if one is widescreen and the other is 4:3. The only thing puzzling me is that the 4:3 one is DVI and the other VGA, unless you mixed yourself up in the names of the plugs (blue = VGA, white = DVI).

I have heard of some problems between the latest AVG and Rs. It may be it as well if D.V. is wrong. That would be something to try as well, getting a good antivirus like Avira or Avast! instead of the crap that AVG is nowadays.

So your saying that the Japaneese auto makers that have factories in the US would rather ship their supplies from out of the country into the US when they can cut cost by not having to import them? Steel is steel, aluminum is aluminum. The quality has nothing to do with the supplies the big 3 are getting, it's how they're manufacturing their parts out of the supplies. It's not because they don't buy their supplies from the same suppliers that the parts come from outside :roll: . Some companies make better parts with more quality, although charge a bit more for most of them. Yes it can be the same metals, but some alloys have better quality than some others, just by the percentage of which metal there is.

blade995, I don't think asian car makers will ever get their supplies from the same people that made the parts for GM, else their cars would start breaking as easily as an american car.

That's the last thing you want to do. This will try to get the updates form Mircrosoft, and that's not what we usually want, that's a last resort. Microsoft's drivers are either outdated drivers from the company or a driver they made themselves, which usually sucks. Usually you go to the computer manufacturer's website and you find the drivers.

With a Pentium D and that amount of RAM, Yes, you should use XP for games. To add a bit of off topic here: If you get a better computer in a near future though, you could stick to Vista on that new one. Mine, for example, runs much better on Vista than XP as Vista is a lot faster, and I also get better framerate than when I'm on XP.

I'm sorry, I don't have time to tell you how to fix this, but I know the reason why you're going to have trouble making it all work normally now, since usually, to not have any trouble, Windows XP HAS to be Installed Before Windows Vista is installed.

It actually happened to me as well when I was partitionning. Anyway, next time I format to reinstall Windows on my new hard drive, I'll be partitionning in a much better way it's partitionned right now.

I had one minor and 4 major surgeries to my ear to try to eradicat some infection. Last operation was in fact to reconstruct the ear, but there was still a lot of infection it it apparently, but it did work to get rid of the infection.

Well, one idea you could try to get some of the second hard drive to belong to XP would be to load up Gparted (Linux program) to partition your hard drive. I would make sure you defrag Vista and check if it works after manipulating the Vista partition. You can then go to XP, and then press start > Run > diskmgmt.msc . Then you right click on the unallocated space and format it to NTFS, and as for cluster size, generally the bigger the better. I can't remember if in XP it absolutely has to be "Free Space" to make a partition though.
