I find it weird that they just cut it to a slower connection, around here, one of the ISPs doesn't have a limit, and the other one, when we go over the limit they don't cut the speed but make us pay more. Yes, we only have 2 ISPs around here.

Wait, how did you get Java to work on W7? I tried, installed, but can't load it on Firefox or IE64bit =\.

Well, I have a friend that only gets dial-up, but by making changes in the registry he managed to get the full capacity. The only problem though, is I don't think it would be a good idea to go with the registry changes :?

If doing a power cycle with the modem didn't work, then I believe calling the ISP would be the best thing to do. I know as well that when one of the modems I had broke, it was doing that and when we had internet it was quite slow. The ISP replaced it for free.

Why not get an Asus Laptop then? They're high quality for the price! I own one and am pleased with it, works very well and has never given me any troubles or errors (I'm on Vista).

^ Did you defrag? I don't understand the hate as well, ever since I used Vista, I don't want to use XP anymore as Vista has more options and that I got used to. Ok the UAC can be a bit annoying at times, but they did a better job with it in W7. Plus, Vista is faster and more stable than XP in my case.

Does it seemlessly upgrade from Vista? I don't have any mediums to do a backup to, except for the 10GB partition that Dell does, but that is mostly used up. EDIT: Just remembered that I have a flash disk somewhere with most of my music on, I'll just back up the rest when I find it, and would it be possible to get my saved passwords from ff and copy it to my phone just in case? Well, nowadays, buying a hard drive and a case to make it an external hard drive doesn't cost much, you should try :). Oh, and don't upgrade, make a partition and install it in dual boot with you Vista.

I think your connection is good personnally, it's almost the fastest we can have around here as well lol. Funny to see someone with the same ISP as me lol.

sound very unusual. utorrent usually uses very minimal processing power and memory, well it does for me and everyone else i know. I know, and I tried reinstalling it and a few other things, none worked.

Thanks, although I very rarely download, when I use utorrent it's being an [wagon] to my computer, taking all the processing power of the processor, both cores, even if I set the affinity to one core. Leaves the computer unusable until I restart, since it crashes when I try to close it.

I did. I have had good experience with their costumer support as you can see in my previous post, but most computers we've had were HPs and lasted quite long, there's one that is now 8 years old almost 9 that never broke once, an HP. The one I have now is an HP as well and never had trouble with it in the 2 years and a half I've had it.

A little Googling. I also have the latest magazine with PC World's Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey (60k+ participants) that ranks Dell above most of the other manufactures. Same with the PC Magazine survey. That's weird. Were these dated for 2 years ago? At the moment HP is kicking Dell in the [wagon]. It was two years ago that Dell was terrible. After Micheal Dell retired the new CEO outsourced all of the customer support to India, causing their ratings to tank. Just recently Dell took the company back over again and fixed the customer support problem as well as made some other changes. (Apparently he just walked in one day and fired the entire upper management of the company) About what I was going to say. All those figures were for 2008. Where are you getting your information about dell being terrible\HP being great? College. And making us program in 2008 programs makes me think they're pretty damn updated.
