Heh, that made me think, OP could sell his main on ebay or something :twss: I actually have a friend that did that, and he made $1k with an account that is not as good as your main lol. Well not only is it strictly agaisnt rules, but if rules aren't a concern for you, while trying to make pure real life profit from Runescape GP, you'll eventually have to use certain wealth transfer patterns (such as bounty hunter tricks to die intentionally), and Jagex tracks those carefully & likely have computer models to calculate which players are abusing the system, dying too often, etc. Is it worth losing an account over? A few measly bucks... And if you get caught for gold selling, which is pretty much Jagex's public enemy #1, they will likely ban all accounts linked to your IP address, which means you lose your main account, PK accounts, possible other accs etc... It's just not a lucrative business, don't do it. I was sarcastic, that's why I put the :twss: emote -.- I beleive my friend didn't care for his account when he did this.

You can't say that as generalized as that. For me, it's Firefox 2 that did that, and I never had any problems with Firefox 3. I believe the author of the topic could try Firefox 2 though just to see.

Fixed the typos (I do hope you meant 1/12th not 1/2th, because one-twoth sounds weird).. You have a good point though. I used to be...well, afraid I suppose is the word, of using vista, because people said it was a pain, and that it's a memory hog and all that. However, since I started using it, I've grown to like Vista. Its not really that slow IMO, especially if you use ReadyBoost (flash drives are only like 10 bucks for a 512MB or 1 gigabyte one). Some tasks, like finding files, seems to be faster in Vista than XP, and opening Programs is faster because of the search bar in the Start Menu. If the 32-bit version is fast to me with only about half the RAM it could have, I would love to try a maxed-out 64-bit version. I'm probably going to get Vista x64 for my next computer when I get the money to build it. [/hide] Maxed out on 64 Business/Enterprise/Ultimate is 128 GB ram, if you're talking about maxing ram lol. If you can, i'd wait until Windows 7 comes out, and get the 64 bit version for your future computer. I hate the Vista start menu, i prefer the menu as on Ubuntu or XP. Windows 7/Vienna/Can't remember that last name will be only available in 64 bit. Vista is the end of 32 bit OSes as well as NTFS OSes. Vista was supposed to be on the new filesystem until last minute, maybe that's the reason they had to report the date to later until they got it out, and it was still too early with all the bugs it had in the beginning of all the people using it.

You wouldn't happen to be torrenting while playing RuneScape, now would ye? That may be a problem.. The only thing I can think of is to take a picture of your processes when you lag...I've been doing it while playing WoW, and it's helped me with my lag issues...Although my fan still revvs up a bit, but that's another topic. Just had another idea thinking about the Task Manager...Have you tried increasing the priority for RuneScape while playing? This also helps me with WoW, and I think I did it when I used to play RS, so it may help you. Set it to high (13), the one below Realtime (I don't know what that setting might do, but you could try it. I take no responsibility for the outcome should you use the Realtime priority level). DO NOT TOUCH REALTIME LEVEL! Touching the priority is usually a bad thing to do, but you can try increasing a bit the priority and see what it does, and if it does not crash your computer, good for you. It can still create some bugs though. The reason I tell you to not touch the realtime priority, is that by setting it to REaltime, it will make it so the thing you set to it will be run on the hardware itself and not exactly through Windows, and that will most likely crash your computer, let alone creating a lot of bugs.

If you always were on Windows, I'd suggest you a more user friendly one like Ubuntu, I know it's not the most user friendly but hey :P. My friend that insatelled Ubuntu on dual boot had never touched anything else than windows. Now, he doesn't want to return at all to windows but has to keep it since it's the college's laptop and needs it for the course lol.

Lol about removing the post count, I do believe some care about it lol. I did on another forum, even if I was only a lurker here already lol. As for comming to Tif forum, I like the comunity a lot and have learned a lot about computers in the Tech and Computers section :). Just to say, that's what has revived my computer passion, that I though was gone, and it steered me in my current programming course at college. I like it so much that I don't know how I would've worked for 20 years in the other course I was taking before. Also helps me when I want to take a break from homework, or when I open the internet, I always come here first. I admit as well that curiosity has something to do as well :P. This community is more mature than those other forums I go to as well. I'm still much of an observator though, lately I post more, but since even before I subscribed, I always came here for some read :).

I wasn't trying to persuade you to switch to KIS, I was just seconding that it's a good suite, in case someone may have been wondering by and wanted to know how good it was. I've been thinking of switching from McAfee, to another free program (McAfee came free as part of our internet subscription)...So, Avast! is good, yes? Or is it Avira I should get? *scratches head*. I was thinking about a free suite of programs, to replace my resource-hogging, inadequate, current setup...Anyone think that the following would be good?: Antivirus: Avast Anti-Spyware: Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy (ICE), and maybe MalwareBytes AntiMalware. Firewall: Comodo (if it's really just McAfee being jealous). ...Or, the alternative suite...Ubuntu : (/joke...for now...I do intend to move on to it eventually though). I've already been with KIS for a year now ;). As for Avast or Avira, to me they perform pretty much the same thing. As for the rest: =D>

Specs would be helpful. If your computer doesn't have them, then no wonder you have trouble with Vista, which is much better than XP now.

Maybe because mcAfee doesn't want a good firewall on your computer? I think your main problem si that you have McAfee. I'm going to agree with you that KIS is a very good suite, but I'm still chaning to NOD32 with Comodo/Za when my subscription ends.
