well, back when i read misfile, i read it all in like 8 hours. that was almost a year ago i think, close to a year anyway, i'd say no more than a year + or - 3 months.
  2. there are better ways than that, i mean come on. that takes forever.
  3. personally for combat (i'm level 28 now) i did chickens and cows and goblins to start, then men, then barbarians, then skeletons and zombies in the varrock sewer, now i'm on guards. the loot from the zombies was the best so far, but nothing amazing, the skeletons had a ton of herb drops though (willing to sell to free up bank space too :D
  4. man, when i first started back in the day and i met a highwayman i was already a higher level (i didn't know port sarim existed for ages) but i was still like "wtf stop attacking me" cause i didnt' realize right away it was an npc.
  5. Same thing also happened w/my first pair of headphones (apple ones that come w/ipod) 1. I don't blast them, I put them on Max when I'm mowing the law, but that's really not very loud considering the limits the ipod puts on it. 2. They are very expensive Headphones - MDR-EX700s 3. I do remove by ear not wire. oh hey look ouchy_s! he did mention what headphones he has all the way on the first page!
  6. What exactly is wrong with Spec Ops? They also purposely made no Coop for the campaign, because they wanted the storyline to fit, like in Cliffhanger, they tried two people w/ Soap, but that didn't feel like a stealth mission because it is much easier for one person to climb up a mountain and sneak through a base than two people going together, and the second player as Soap sure as hell didn't work for the story. What also is wrong with the multiplayer? Also, why does it being hyped make it worse for you? spec ops is not my style of gameplay at all. i understand how it appeals to some people, but not me, except for the snow race, but that was fun to do regardless of my time. honestly there is nothing wrong with it from a game standpoint, i just don't like things like that, to me it feels tacked on. i understand that they purposely did it, i just don't agree with it. the back of the case says "players 1-4 co-op 2 system link 2-18" etc etc. also for xbox live online multiplayer 2-18 co-op 2 to me, that means campaign co-op. i know technically it means if there is any co-op at all they can put it there, but i was highly disappointed anyway also, unless i'm [developmentally delayed]ed, you can't do splitscreen and online multiplayer, my friend and i tried and couldn't figure it out cause when we went to splitscreen it was just us 2, whereas xbox live wouldn't let him in the group. if you can correct me on this, by all means, do. it will actually make multiplayer more interesting to me, as it's always more fun to play with someone next to you rather than by yourself. the multiplayer annoys me. it seems like everyone gets cheap kills, especially with thermal, granted yes. i get what seems like cheap kills too, but it's not as satisfying as something else, i don't feel like there is any real skill involved half the time. yes there is skill needed, don't get me wrong, but half the time it just seems stupid and lucky shots. the hype doesn't make it worse for me, it just doesn't meet the expectations i had with the hype, and being as biased against modern warfare as i am (i didn't like the first one either really) i was expecting it to be a bleh experience. the experience i had with the game was basically "start the mission - bleh kill people - hide while healing - kill people - listen to chatter - kill people - kill people while listening to other chatter - finish mission" it just wasn't impressive save for a few woah moments. even the end was just bleh to me, especially the fact that so even that was lackluster. i can honestly say the only time i truly had fun in the campaign was the snowmobile race.
  7. i have never been impressed with a shooter's story, that i can remember at least. yes mw2 had some cool moments (snow mobiling, the boat at the end, etc) stuff like that is cool, overall i found mw2's campaign to be highly confusing as half the time i had no clue what the [bleep] was going on except i had to kill people. i was listening to the inbetween mission dialogue, and everything as well.
  8. believe it or not, i don't like this game. i don't like the multiplayer, i don't really like the single player, and i sure as hell don't like spec ops. my friend bought it and enjoys it, he was at work one day so i played it and beat it, played the online a bit and i think i'm done with it now. basically i had the same experience with cod4 as well except i paid for that game out of my own pocket, so that sucked. i honestly don't see what all the hype is about with this game as it hits far underneath it with my playing it. also, this game pissed me off before i even played it, there isn't a co-op campaign and spec ops is [cabbage]ty, that alone turned me away from the game considering the back of the box was misleading to me, i'm just glad i didn't pay for it. if anyone does catch me on multiplayer (those few of you with my gamertag) it'll only be because some of my irl friends are playing.
  9. if i remember correctly you can, i believe people used to do it simply for the death runes as it was just a nice little easy boost to get some, whereas in rs2 it's easy to get death runes other ways.
  10. You still leveled combat first, which is exactly what I suggested. If you re-read, I actually suggested doing both skills and combat - and not stay level 3. IMO you shouldn't approach RSC from an RS2 perspective and pick up skills right away at level 3. You'll die from muggers and dark wizards when you try to bank. :P well, if you want to get technical i did woodcutting and firemaking first, i just didn't do much of it :D combat is definitely needed for most people during the start, personally i've never been attacked on the way to or from a bank yet, although i remembered my rsc days of dying from dark wizards and such :P
  11. rsc isn't necessarily more combat based, i just did combat till like level 10 then started mining and fishing and such. i did my mining and fishing goals first before i really started working on combat. also, i sold my smithed items to the specialized stores, swords to the swords store, etc etc, more money that way. i have 40 fishing 40 mining 33 smithing 35 cooking 30 attack 20 def and 24 str all in the first 6 days of rsc being open, anything i want to do in the game right now, i can do myself. i bought full mithril from the stores and my addy longsword from the stores too. it's all about how you play, you can do combat and then buy your stuff from other players, you won't make as much money imo that way though. i'm just trying to be self sufficient on rsc right now.
  12. you mean so that this forum doesn't get used and everyone uses that one instead?
  13. silly me, i've been smelting the ore into bars then smithing the bars! and here i am at 40 mining having wasted all that ore on smithing. BAH.
  14. not sure if double posting is allowed on this thread or not, but since it's pretty dead here i want people to notice i've posted again, so i'm bumping instead of editing. ii need a mithril kite shield, and i suppose an adamant kite shield as well, if anyone can make these for me i'll pay, we'll work out a price.
  15. what's all this nonsense in here?

  16. yeah, i'm totally enjoying this. i started from scratch on the 11th and i'm up to like 220overall, with almost 40 mining, 40 fishing, 35 cooking, and 28 smithing. i'm currently mining more ore so i can make full iron sets to sell, or just to sell stuff to the shops, then once i get those a bit more stable as far as income, i'll do combat.
  17. i could use someone to trade some uncut sapphs and emeralds for cut versions. i think i have 4 sapphs and 3 emeralds.
  18. so, about time for me to post here. i'm glad they did this, i started back in fall of 01 on my original character, blah blah blah had a member character for rsc/rs2beta/rs2, have been on rs2 ever since. went inactive when rsc shut down, couldn't ever get back on. this is a dream come true for me, i've wanted this for so long, just to be able to try it again. i plan on playing this more than i've played rs2 in ages. i'm also having more fun with this than i am with rs2, more fun than i've had with rs2 in probably a year. i've been just levelling by myself on rsc, happy as can be. i'm enjoying it so much, honestly. it's amazing how far we've come, but it's also amazing at how far we were back then. the only thing i legitimately miss is a run button. i can live without the rest of the stuff and still justify the $5 a month for me.
  19. it's almost exactly the same as starting rs2 lol. rsc tipit go there for guides and stuff and for starting out. it's quite simple.
  20. lolbump also, i'll be selling lower level fish, as well as iron equipment on a need-by-need basis. prices right now i'll do 20gp per trout, 30 per salmon iron pieces (i can't make legs skirts or plates yet, but soon!) i'll do the prices as follows: long sword: 100gp battle axe: 150gp large helm: 125gp kite shield: 175gp chain mail: 200gp square shield: 150gp (when i level) iron 2h: 300gp iron legs:225gp iron skirt: 225gp iron plate: 450gp you can drop me a pm here preferably to set up a time when you want to buy stuff. also if i'm on rs, i plan on cleaning out my friends list via rs2, as it's much easier that way and then i'll have more space to add people as well. msn or yahoo from my profile work as well.
  21. I totally agree, but the Onion is a pretty nice source too. Can't trust any of them: even the people at The Onion will put a spin on a story if it makes it funnier. the onion is supposed to be fake news, lol. you aren't even supposed to take the onion seriously.
  22. [spoiler=dont' click if you haven't beaten it]the end was disappointing, by far. it's totally fun the second playthough though, and once you beat the final boss again enemies are level 49-52. you haven't lived till you've fought a level 51 superbad spiderant *element*. the fights are intense, superbad enemies are really superbad. i'm still totally having fun with it though, even after 1000/1000 and beating it fully twice on one character. give it a chance, play with some friends online, or just run an open party and play with random people who join in, i've made friends with like 10 people like that, i've met some awesome people on borderlands.
  23. well, i beat it completely the second time with my level 50 soldier character. i got 1000/1000 the other day on it, so now all i can do is gun farm and get some other level 50s if i want in the other classes.
  24. who the bloody hell is this yahtzee cat?
