  1. No censor is ever going to be perfect. Also, to be honest, the only real times I've seen it mis-fire in the last six months where when I was using shortened/leet-speak words, or when I misspelled them. By the by, the amount of logic and cunning required to filter every single bad word and leave intact regular conversion is nigh impossible. Some examples of legitimate words that could get filtered are quincunx, [kitty]cat, or even the number "717". It's inevitable though; words that aren't profane but sound similar enough to profane words will get caught. EDIT: You can't get black marks for censored words (confirmed by Jagex). Reporting for censored words would technically be abusing Customer Support, and is against the rules. Lol, because we all know how well done the customer support system is... ;) Has everyone forgotten that easily 95% of CS is in working with hundreds of thousands of abuse reports?
  2. If RS ever did get in the way of my hygiene, I wouldn't hesitate to smash my laptops to bits, then hop in the shower. But it doesn't, so that's good.
  3. I suppose. The level restriction is a huge disadvantage to someone that's level 56, in the medium crater.
  4. This reminds me of the time that some alleged representatives of PETA were going to petition against RuneScape for Hunter. It was as funny to me as it was ironic.
  5. What pros do you see? I can't see any. Do share your insight.
  6. Problem there is that the OS is 64 bit, and there's no 64 bit java plugin that works with RuneScape. You have to dig around online to find a way to install a 32-bit browser (i.e. Konqueror or Firefox) AND 32-bit Java onto 64-bit Mandriva. It shouldn't be too hard, hopefully they have a decent forum you can look at.
  7. I don't see the advantage. There's no offline-doable content, and you'd have to connect regularly to get game patches/bug fixes, or to talk with any of your friends online.

Let's start at the top. I'm an American, first and foremost. Second, I hope you take your own advice and realize that not only is life not fair, but what you did was immature, full stop. Third, A_Local_Guy's signature doesn't bash an entire nation. What you said could be construed as racism, and you refuse to admit that it's immature/pointless/going to get you in a whole helluva lot of trouble when you grow up. I'm not going to beat sense into a troll. I'd have better success with a teddy bear. I just hope that your parents can discipline you before this behavior gets you assaulted/killed by someone who is French and patriotic.

This statement alone tells me you need to learn self-control, and as such, you needed to either log out or walk away from the situation. Flying off the handle isn't mature, it's reckless -- I don't give a damn how long you've been playing. Just wanted to bold the ironic parts for clarity. I'd say you deserved to be muted/banned. That isn't a joke. That's an insult to the French Navy. No one in their right mind would find it funny, and even if they did, they wouldn't dare say it out loud. I'm especially surprised that you had the liver to say it when you knew you had 12.5/10 blackmarks. Anyway, good bye, hope you go to anger management, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. If you were serious enough about leaving, you won't reply to these posts.
  10. Ooh, forgery. That'll be an interesting felony. OT: The game seems to be aimed at teens for me, or in layman's terms, 13+. Regardless of how much "evidence" there is to the contrary, the game doesn't seem to be geared to or directed towards anyone younger than that age group. Oh, and for those that say that < 13 can play legally now: In the ToS, any account that is younger than the required age is locked into QuickChat until they come of appropriate age.
  11. For those that value its reach and multiple hits, then it's a godsend. For those that value speed over power, then it's useless.
  12. You simply have no idea how much I want to. You really don't. :( A wild fantasy of mine was to once buy 100K Magic logs, and burn them -- half pyred, the other half in front of onlookers. :D EDIT: Why did that signature pop up in the quote...
  13. I just did a little bit of looking around, and I found out that the aforementioned card isn't a good gaming card. Especially if you want to run Crysis. [While we're at it, a triple-core processor at that speed isn't going to cut it this time, and you'll probably want at least 3GB of RAM...] Anyway, to directly answer your question, yes there is a way to get more than one graphics card into a machine. For AMD/ATI, it's called CrossFire; for NVIDIA, SLI. Your card isn't SLI capable, which means you can't put another one into your machine. Of course, putting more than one graphics card does not mean you'll get double the performance, naturally. You'd be looking at 1.2 to 1.4x the performance of a single card.
  14. I'll answer that question the second you tell me when RuneScape became a "help-my-lazy-friend-or-relative-or-acquaintance-because-they-asked-for-it" game. Wait a second, you mean to tell me that kids play games? I had no idea! [if you can't see through my biting sarcasm, I offer the next statement.] So, by eliminating the most common avenues for RWT, Jagex is all of a sudden pandering to the children? Give me a break. Jagex has been accused of pandering to children long before this update. It's not about scams, you know (although it's an awesome side-effect), but you're obviously too narrow-minded to see otherwise. What are you here for then? It seems you do nothing but moan about essentially nothing. I understand that you've just come back and the changes are a shock, but if you don't think you can adapt, just disappear quietly so we don't have to deal with your ignorance. By the by, I really do think you should go soak your head, or take a long walk off a short dock, whichever is more convenient.
  15. Most people are logged in on Saturdays, peak hours between 12 and 3PM Mountain Daylight Time. Best time to do the drop party, I suppose. Just keep in mind that your machine had better be a slammin' one, or you're going to get lagged out in the first five seconds.
  16. Go soak your head. Seriously. It's not that serious that you can't help out a sibling who's too damn lazy to get the items on their own. Besides, had you really read the updates, like you said you did, you'd understand by now the justification for the trade limits. Also, I don't care that you're just venting steam. There's a difference between venting and spewing utter ignorance. If you can't discern between that, don't consider coming back.
  17. Typically after a day, it's a good idea to go back to the GE and re-enter your offer. Better to try at mid price, too -- GWD still exists, and players still get SS drops. ;)
  18. Firstly, I think that I'll answer the OP's original question point-blank, and I believe that it's been answered. To declare war, the President of the United States must convince Congress that a declaration of war is in the best interests of the nation. Not sure how any other nation does it; if someone is a tyrant/overlord, all they'd really have to do is point at a country on the map. There are areas of the world with much worse regimes. If saving people from persecution really was your prerogative here, then I have to wonder why you haven't marched into Zimbabwe or Sudan already. Ad how is that relevant to Iraq? I never said we were trying to save people from persecution, as pointed out before our main goal was (false) WMDs. You claimed a lot of things that were false, I proved you wrong, and now you're trying to change the subject. Okay, firstly, Ginger_Warrior is correct. Saddam's regime was far more tame than the genocides that have been going on for two decades in the African nations, and even now in Cambodia. Of course, since there's no political gain that can be had by helping those nations out, we don't even hear about it in the news. I'm not saying that what Saddam did was any better than what is going on now, but genocide is serious business. I'm also somewhat surprised that you missed the relevance to Iraq, too. The first reason we went over there was to combat terrorism. Then it was to fight WMD on a humanitarian scale. If the latter were true, we'd definitely be involved in the African and Cambodian nations right now.
  19. When you grow up, you'll learn the value of money and that there won't always be an endless supply from mummy's and daddy's pockets. Ad hominem much? You act like I'm some child... Anyway, I do know the value of money. It costs about $5.95 to eat out once in a blue moon. It costs about $5.95 for a gallon and a half of gas. It costs more than that for bills, room and board, tuition, etc... My point to you was simple: If you're not prepared to chance the money, then wait until you can. Chances are you spend easily two to ten times more than that on some console game or DVD.
  20. It's not against the rules, or the very numerous threads in Armor&Weapons that have "renting X item $$$K an hour" are not locked. Also, the sticky for lending items specifically says that thread is not for Renting, or Charging people to borrow an item, yet there are tons of posts advertising borrowing X godsword $$K/hour and vice verca. They're not hidden. Just because it isn't hidden doesn't mean that it isn't against the rules. Here's proof: [Source]
  21. I'm sure that the original idea with Godswords/Poisons was that they could not be taken apart/dismantled; that code is probably malfunctioning. :|
  22. Probably because your problem is not as serious as you think it is. Relax and you'll get an answer. Besides, perhaps your punishment also merited a longer forum ban.
  23. Whether or not it is immoral is inconsequential. Simply enough, if an opportunity exists, and both parties are willing to do such, then the question or morality no longer applies. Besides, it makes sense to me...I loan you my Dragon chain, you pay me X. Seems reasonable enough.
  24. If you're going through this much indecision behind $5.95, then it's probably not a good idea for you to come back.
  25. I don't see the discussion value in this. What you're doing is digging up old skeletons, and you're definitely going to draw fire for such. If you don't like the new RS, hit ALT + F4. No one is forcing you to play this so-called "abomination" of a game, okay?
