This is not a rant I use to pk with my old main at mage bank years ago where you never double teamed very often so I decided to try pking today got lured by a level 120 around the opposite side of god arena where 7-8 level 138's were waiting with ancient magics and then continued to korasi spec to to my death where i lost around 300k it was hilarious to see that if you go past edgeville now you are basically need a clan wars army pretty funny imo I wanted to see what the old pkers and new think of this as i found it more funny then anything because i don't pk often or consider myself good

I dunno, this has kind of been around since 120s and up were doing this near MB, Rune Rocks and the Wilderness Agility course.

More or less been that way since RS2 came out.

 

Edit: Also, you've got to be pretty dumb to get lured by wildy agility course/axe hut.

PKing these days is truly pathetic. In 2006 at MB when DI and RSD ruled the wild, anyone who dt'ed or prayed 1v1 was considered an honorless noob who is not even worth fighting. Now when I don't pray, I get called a "lol noob doesnt even have 43 prayer".

 

Edgeville pking used to be for the low level pures who would just fight eachother. Now it is full of maxed players teleing and praying without hesitation. I tried edge pking a few weeks ago because noone would fight 1v1 at MB, and I was disgusted. I had ATLEAST 5 level 130+ players tele from me. Don't even get me started on the korasi kids. I don't even want to mention how many people would attack with korasi, and if they didn't hit atleast a 400 they immediately tele'd.

 

 

The only kill I got that day was a 129 with full rune and a RING OF LIFE. Seriously. A RoL. I couldn't believe it. In 2006, if you were killed with a RoL on you, I'm pretty sure that any respectable PKing clan would have kicked you out

As you can probably tell by the penance horn in my inventory and the fact I'm wearing no armour I was going to train Agility and didn't seem much of a threat / worth killing.

 

However two Level 138 players in maxed out gear with pak yaks decided they needed to Barrage me to death, insult my nan?? and call me the above.

 

Runescape 2k11.

 

P.S. the Dragon Claws were in case someone at the agility arena got bored and decided to try and kill me (happens a lot)

This, and the reason I no longer Pk. Noobs these days don't know what it was like back then, or they were the ones being complete fails in the wild. Jagex's pking system was pathetic, and it was up to players to implement a set of honor rules to make it more enjoyable. Now that the wild dominance and respect has gone, players are free to do what they like, resulting in the complete mess that is present now.

 

We had the honor system for a reason guys, now you can see how boring pking is without this in play.

So all you had to do to avoid getting killed was turn on prayer? :v

Also keep in mind that there are many more weapons now that are extremely strong or more available than in 06 when they wildy was just getting shut down which makes it harder to 'enforce' these honour codes you're thinking of.

I thought this whole "honor code" thing was just psychological warfare so that your opponent wouldn't use all the tools available to them to win.

Clans PK at mage bank all the time. Honour codes that have once existed have long died out, even before the Wilderness removal. That's why ddosing is so rampant, etc.

People crying about honor codes in the wilderness can't kill anyone unless they:

* Don't pray

* Don't eat

* Don't tele when they are out/low/about to get koed

 

..And even if these "honor pkers" found someone that didn't do any of the above (you think they would be happy that they could finally kill someone?); they would then start flaming like there was no tomorrow about how bad they think this someone is.

The point of pking has usually been about killing another person BEFORE he fled/tellied/screen hopped or whatever you want to call it. Yes people safed (and still safe) and teleported (and still do). There hasn't really been any transition from "Old School" pking and "Prod pking" other than the maturity and silliness that people have been bringing into the game.

Even though I acknowledge the fact that cutthroat tactics are inherent of pking, I will never be able to play the game in that manner. That's why I never have nor will pk. I prefer to keep my gear :)

If you won't risk it and go deeper, then the rewards will be further apart.

I'm not saying you can't pk with whater rules you wan't, against likeminded people: I'm just asking that you and these other "honor-pkers" doesn't try to drag your rules upon the rest of us.

If you can find people that want to sit at 350lp the entire fight, then go fight them; and don't flame hybrids in lvl 50 wildy, risking half their bank, for not doing the same.

I could show you almost every single PK on my Berserker Pure and you will find that I have no runes or teletabs. I have PKed about 200ish Varrock tele tabs as of now, though.

The only thing i'm trying to say is I attacked somebody and he infact called his buddys which they all logged in beside mage bank 8-9 level 138's all wearing ahrims and arcane spirit sheilds who proceded to teleblock me barrage me to keep me in place and then korasi spec me one at a time until i died there was nothing i could do as they would barrage me to stick me in place then korasi spec me and repeat im guessing this is the reason why you don't see anybody in high level wild anymore unless they are butt hugging 5+ of there buddies

It doesnt matter if you bring a tele or not, the fact is that if you pk in <20 wildy, its safer than in >30 wildy.

Wearing armour also makes it safer than not wearing armour, by saying that you dont bring armour (or in your case a tele) doesnt change the fact that its safer for everyone who does.

Point is: if you dont like people teleing from you, pk in deeper wildy.
