community involvement vs. favoritism
+1 Well Jagex must also learn that their interests are not the interests of the common player, and that they need to meet their player's demands, not the demands of the minority of ranters. They ought to post the death of a player, although marriages would just be a bit too personal.

To be or not to be!
Although it may seem like I'm contradicting myself, the fact that companies do reserve the right to change their rules without notice inclines me to believe that Jagex can opt to not inform players on rule changes, although morally, it is simply unjust. It's just like saying that President Bush can use and executive order to issue a command to invade North Korea, but say that he may withdraw it at any time, and after withdrawal, the actions of the soldiers are held accountable by the soldiers themselves. Now, the previous scenario didn't make sense at all, which is basically why the statement of "Subject to change without notice," is utterly and hopelessly without use, because the person with the IQ of the average Runescape player (Which, quite frankly, is below that of a snail) would not be able to comprehend it.

To be or not to be!
The past few weeks, JaGEx has apparently decided to keep their updates hidden (Like the update to Rule 7, or the Shadow Sword). The Rule 7 update in particular seems to have been created to "for the better of the community." But how can a hypocritical rule change that does not inform the very players that are the foundation of Runescape be seen as a furthering of the community? In essence, JaGEx has showed us that we must read each and every rule daily, in order to make sure that we are following them, since they can change them without notifying most players. Now, the problem with this is that this is a new venue by the creators of this game-yes, one may argue that most rules are "subject to change without notice." However, how can they be hypocritical and unjust by essentially deceiving their players on the legality of certain actions. This deceivement is what JaGEx views as scamming, which is a breach of their own rules. So how do they expect the players to follow a set of rules that JaGEx continues to break, day after day? So all I ask from you is whether or not a corporation is entitled to inform their customers on the legality of their actions, and if JaGEx ought to inform players about every tweak of their ever-changing rules.

Should JAGEX Intervene?
Although I may be exxagerating a great deal with the price of coal, the fact remains that High-alchemy is one of the largest money-creators in the game. As Duke_freedom has said, about 800 billion coins has been brought it by alchemy alone (420 billion from yew longs, 200 billion from steel plates, 100 billion from blue dragonhide bodies, up to 100 billion from combat, plus money from the alching of other items) 800 billion coins is a lot of money, and with over 5 million active accounts, we can assume an average of 160k gp per person brought in by alchemy (Note:This figure is probably much higher, as alching 1k steel plates yields 1.2 million coins, something many smithers do.) If each person uses their share of 160k, and since people have different interests, demand for most items would remain relative steady, since aupply and demand should cancel one another out. The issue however is, that some people have more money than others, and soon enough, there is an imbalance, because since they have more money, they can spend their money on whichever material they prefer. They then place a mass order for the item, which increases demand for it. If suppliers cannot cope with the demand, prices rise. The increased demand, in essence, is directly a result of rich merchants attempting to buy-out a skill, so they get the famed skill cape. However, the problem is that this money came as a result of merchanting mostly, and this money was probably based off of high level alchemy. It is safe to assume that about half of the money was based on high-level alchemy, and all I ask is feedback on whether or not JAGEX ought to intervene, and alter requirements for alchemy, or if they should have an entirely different approach to this viable aspect of the game. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT asking to remove alchemy, just to alter its requirements, in order lower the overall money brought into the game. Also, adding more money drains is not a way to combat this, as they would be optional, and may not have the full effect intended.

Should JAGEX Intervene?
Who said that coal is 12k a piece? All I am stating is that the end is near, that in the near future, inflation MAY cause prices to rise that high.

Should JAGEX Intervene?
Well, one of the biggest issues today seems to be the fact that high level alchemy has caused mass-inflation in RuneScape. Well the question is, should Jagex do something to help this dire situation, since from the way things appear to be goings, Armegeddon seems to be in a few years, with coal being worth 12k each, and phats being worth 2.1 billion coins..... What do YOUthink Jagex should do? Personally, I think they should just implement a new skill that unlocks High-Level Alchemy at level 99 or 100, which would enable us to keep it, while lowering the amount of inflation. \ All I'm stating is that the prices MAY rise that high due to inflation, and and simply asking for feedback on ways that this can be fixed.

Recycling in Runescape
There are a TON of pro's and cons for this idea, although I can give one feasible alternative to all of this. The only reason implementing this would be worthwhile would be to please skillers. High alchemy has caused a mass inflation in RuneScape, and there's only one way to combat this-the addition of a new skill. A new skill called "Science" or "Technology," where you get xp for examining objects in-detail. You get experience for this, and there are numerous rewards at various levels. For example, at say, level 60, you discover low level alchemy. At level 80, you discover Bones to Peaches, and at level 100, you discover High Level Alchemy. This would be a skill with a use for that level 100 with a skill cape, as you cannot get level 100 without the cape, and without that, you cannot High-Alch. By doing this, you effectively reduce the need for someone to mass-smith items, unless they are crazy for xp, and you can then implement the salvaging option. Salvaging would also require the Science/Technology skill, and at higher levels, you can salvage better things. the level required would be the same level required to produce the item originally-for example, a steel plate requres 48 smithing, so it would require 48 Science/Technology. A magic longbow requires 85 fletching I believe, and to burn it, you need 85 Science/Technology. And the experience and items you gain from salvaging is completely random, so overall, there is some balance in the economy. This skill would actually be a useful one, unlike Hunting :-w , or any other random skill released. It would be a skill that the general population would train, as it is a necessity to further their own skills, and to produce more money. With the addition of this skill however, some changes to High-level alchemy would have to be made. 1) It would require more runes (Preferably 1 nature, 5 fires, 5 earth) 2) It would yield more money. (It is only fair considering the 13 million xp you need [maybe an increase of 5-10%]) Well....sorry about the long read.....but I hope you like it!

Grab the phat
Launches a heat-seeking missile into space, which causes your corpse to float down to earth, and i use my ub3r prayer skills to fly for 5 seconds, in order to catch you in the air and rip the phat off your decaying corpse, then digs underground with nothing on except the phat and protect item on. I then crate an anti-noob, anti-hack shield around me, with all three protection prayers on.

should jagex change the way we see players?
This idea works completely, however, a few changes ought to be created. The formula to calculate your displayed level though, needs many tweaks. These may be possible solutions: 1) Total level/10 2) (Total level/Combat level)*10 3) Total level/Combat level 4) [(total level-combat level)/combat level]*sqrt 200 Examples: Total= 900 Combat lvl = 90 1) 900/10= 90 2) (900/90)*10= 100 3) 900/90= 10 4) [900-90)/90]*sqrt 200= 127 Although these may help the current system, overall, it is in rough shape. Unless people come to view skills as being vital to the game, the entire system is doomed because of one fact- Mage's and Ranger's are biased against with the current formula for combat levels
