Exactly the reason why I don't get why people care so much about what others do. One of the reasons that it is fun is that we can compete against others. RS is fair as it is, but the real world's system of money isn't fair because some people are born richer than others. If somebody buys their skills or gold with real money, they are making the game more fun for themself, one person, while spoiling it for many more than one. Sure it's a game, but we invest real time and real effort into improving our characters, and to see that being bought for a measly $10 by some rich kid that didn't even earn his money is unfair and disheartening.

You're all ignoring one part of that sentence: He didn't say "If you want to lvl up go away." He said that if you're so obsessed with lvling up that you would buy gold or characters for rl money, then go find another game.

If they make more the prices of the current ones will drop and a lot of merchants will become angry. I think the main mistakes Jagex made were Pest Control and some of the skills, namely Slayer, Firemaking, Hunting, Fletching and Construction. Mainly because Slayer and Hunting could be merged into ranging and combat, Firemaking's useless, and Fletching and Construction could be merged into Crafting.

The ditch was an excellent update because usually if you traded someone near the wildy line and they ran past it you got killed, but you had no way to prove that. You can't blame Jagex for releasing rares since no other players could foresee the price raise either. Achievement Diary was the first good update for a long time, and it'll be partly F2P ( :D ). Also, don't blame them for not getting rid of autoers yet, there's no way I can think of to get rid of them because they work with colors and bitmaps. They do definitely not have an 'incompetent' auto detection system, that's one of the parts of RS that they have excelled at.

No, you can't report someone for stealing your monsters. That just shows that you have no idea what the rules are and I doubt you even know what macroers are. I see them all the time, even if you 'focus on the task at hand', you would probably still notice the herd of bald green and tan people with spiffy moustaches chopping yews or willows or fishing or mining or buying runes or whatever.

Erm... the bots can solve cubes that rotate with symbols...they can see whether a random is saying their name or somebody else's, they can tell where banks are, they can run from agressive monsters, they can log when they see mods... yet they won't be able to make out letters on the screen?

Jagex did definately not say that it's Chinese people that are "hooking up on the game like a job". They said "people from countries such as China and Korea". In other words, countries where cheap labour is available. It is racism because the Chinese aren't ruining the game, some Chinese people are taking part in real-world trading, along with other countries, and the idiots that buy the gold.

I'm not Chinese, but that's racism. Chinese people are allowed to play the game just as much as you are. It's wrong to say all Chinese are working in sweatshops for real-world traders, and not all sweatshops are in China either. You've got the whole concept of an IP wrong. I live in a 'third-world' country, so about 2000 people here share the same IP. Not only that, but it gets reassigned every 24 hours. If you have dialup, you get a new IP every time you reconnect. AOL shares IPs between hundreds of people to save money. IP banning won't ever work.

They're not gonna change the actual content of the town, only the looks. I personally hope that the walls stay stone, but only darkened a little, the bottom half should be in disrepair, with stains in the dark alleys and a couple of aggresive thieves, maybe even a few gallows, the top half should be very posh, but with heavy overtones of corruption and greed, like the palace should have glittering gold, the table should be full of food, crystal lamps, etc. Also, could anyone post screenies of the old Falador?
