Who's To Blame?
again i disagree. when a scam takes place the socalled "victim" is given two choices.. "yes" or "no". its up to him to decide. I've yet to hear of a scam where the victim was forced into it. Not all runescape scams have that option. Like changing the amount of cash in the trade screen, replacing items, etc. It's how most ppl lose their santas and stuff. But you do have a point.

Absolute Zero
Technically it is impossible to reach 0k. I figure it is because to lower the temperature of an object, it would have to transfer its energy to another sample of matter which has an even lower temperature (this would be of course, because energy moves from high to low; entropy and all that). So basically the final temperature would be the weighted average of both samples. But to reach 0k, a sample would have to be averaged with matter that is lower than 0k, which is of course, impossible. I can't prove any of this, it is my own reasoning. And as for laser cooling, I'm no expert on this, but I don't believe it is possible to reach 0k that way either. And I don't see why we wouldn't see something in absolute zero. What we see isn't the random motion of the particles, but photons reflected from them. So in my mind, we would see it quite clearly, because all the light energy would have to be reflected. And on that topic, the particles would be extremely close together, making it highly dense, much like solids are more visible than gases. That was a lot of science talk for one day. It just occurred to me its summer. I'll have to sleep the rest of the day to make up for all the thinking.

What would the runescape ssbb look like?
AARGGHH!! THE HORROR!!! Can you imagine? "Rofl nwb, pwned", "noo! i want to use Range Pure, use Melee Tank nwb!"....."I'll buy ur cape for 50gp".....The horror. But anyway, weird topic this one is. It's hard to compare to a game that nobody has played yet. And I can't imagine runscape characters jumping or grappling at all. Besides, it would be boring as heck. Everyone would just use protect prayers.

favorite quote?
"Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Put the man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life." - Some dude's siggy "War isn't about dying for your own country, it's about making the other bastard die for his!" - General Patton. "First God made Man, and he rested. Then he made Woman, and he rested. Since then, neither God nor Man has rested." - Heard it from somewhere. "Woman was God's second mistake." - Freidrich Neitzeche "A friend loves at all times, but a brother is born for adversity" - The Bible "Wit, is educated insolence." - Aristotle. Oh, and my siggy.

Shadow of the Shades
With shade hood, I can totally look like palpatine! And it would be one of the few hoods to give much needed prayer bonus, and to the f2p. I'm surprised that shade robes cost so little, seeing they are relatively rare. I've never gotten a shade robe drop to date. And those aren't plate bodies. They're...uh....muscles. Cuz they work out. Not much to do in Hades ya know.

Meet your meat
That's terrible. It's one thing to be uncivilized in killing animals we need to eat, but ostriches and crocodiles? Aren't they on the protected lists? But hm...Those ostrich wallets look trendy....Or not.

Who's To Blame?
Apparently you didn't read my quote properly. :wall: I said "not aware of the trimming aspect", that means, doesn't know what trimming is, what the benefit is, but just that someone offered to do it for free. Technically he wasn't taking advantage of anyone, just accepting the "gift". Put urself into the example. If someone offered u an unknown item for free, wudnt u take it, useful or not? I know it isnt the same as handing over ur armor, but it wud be the same to a newbie. How would a newbie know anything about the price of something he doesn't know? All he knows at this point is that its free. So he probably thinks it isn't worth that much time and effort. Yes, he does not expect any profit because he isn't aware of the value of trimmed armor.

Meet your meat
[hide=Gah night of the living quotes] That we cannot. But what the video is asking the viewer is to turn vegan because some companies are a little crude in doing what they are supposed to do. What do you want done? Give the chickens and pigs their last rites and have their remains a proper funeral? What do you consider "ethical"? I'm sure I can show you examples that follow your standards, but there is no requirement for all companies to follow the same approach. Mass killing is always a grisly business, and it can't be avoided. No matter how many "save the cows" videos are made, people need food, and as a result a few hands will get bloodied. My god, what I'm asking is stuningly simple. To not make animals suffer pointlessly. A quick and painless death, and civilized living conditions is what I'm asking for. Am I reaching for the stars? I don't think so. And what I'm saying is equally simple: it's not possible. At least, it won't be easy. If the populace still needs the amount of meat we need today, then even the simplest requirements of "civilized living" will be broken. I don't enjoy animals suffering, but if it is too hard to avoid, I understand and go with it. As for "painless death", I believe that is catching on. Electrocutions are becoming common, which is less painful and quicker than a beheading. But kosher and halal meat can't have it. Not that it really matters, the animal is going to die regardless. If it's the difference between 5 seconds or 5 minutes, it can't be too bad. No change will ever happen if people just sit on their behinds and say "Ah, it's hopeless, we can't make any change happen." [/hide] Touche.

The Earth isn't as warm as we thought
To be honest, the gas prices are more likely to keep us away from fossil fuels than the end of the world. :|

Meet your meat
[hide=NOOOO the poor fly!] Plants eat meat too... [/hide] I meant non-carnivorous plants anyway. And just because plants can't feel pain doesn't mean they get priority over animals in the PETA schemes. Do they feel pain? Look here: http://www.department13designs.com/vegan.html Or google "can plants feel pain?"

Meet your meat
Don't start the "hug the animals" fiasco. Look at it this way. By being vegetarian, you're killing billions of plants, living organisms in their own right. They may not breathe and move, but by advocating "animal rights", you fail to allow the right to live for the inanimate beings of the earth. Seem dumb? That's how I view my food. People have to eat, the meat market doesn't want to show you the killing of animals because it makes people queasy and go all vegan, not because it is unnecessary. Life is hard for the small and weak, it is a lesson that should be apparent for humans as well. Things have always been this way, organisms either make their own food, or kill others to save themselves. Just because it's cruel doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. It's animal lives for human lives, ask yourself which one is worth more. If you still don't like it, hope that you reincarnate into a plant or something, so you don't have to kill other creatures.

The Perks of being a Wallflower
Wait, what? Sorry, could you explain what this thread is about, or any history about it I don't seem to know about? EDIT: Ooohhh! A book! I see now, very cool.

We are so owned, Rihanna is designing umbrellas!
It's a horrible sales tactic, her song. Why buy a new umbrella when she said we can stand under her umbrella, ella, ella?

GBA games
Metroid Fusion and Mario Kart Advance are my favorite games. Not a lot of replay value, but they're fun. Oh, try getting those bootleg cartridges that have like 50 games in one. I have one with 65 NES adaptations, not very legal though.

Skirt v. Legs
I got a rl friend that has one. Back off dude, you don't know what their situation is. Like i said, your probably a noob that just has not developed in the game to know that a skirt = mature adult. If you wear the skirt, you know whats up And what is up? If i saw someone wearing a skirt, i would think that they just took the easy road. And needless to say, they wouldn't have much awe factor. It isn't that they are "girly", it's that skirts are the easier of the two and wouldn't provide as much self-confidence as the premium-priced legs. Why do guys have to wear skirts anyway? I see plenty of girl characters wearing legs, and it's probably for the same reasons I stated above. Realistically, legs would provide full cover protection that skirts can't. I always thought it was strange that the d skirt was statistically superior to the legs. But i suppose its fair, something needs to represent the girls playing runescape. Everything I said in short..

Who's To Blame?
Good point, that. But it becomes a little tricker in runescape. Let's say some newbie is offered by a higher level to trim his armor for 100gp, not aware of either the trimming aspect or how much he would pay even if it was possible. In this case, the player honestly has no idea he would be scammed, neither is he looking for an easy profit. You can mold such a situation for many scams. In short, in a lot of cases the blame is nearly completely on the scammer.

new merchant currency!
Back on topic: Maybe iron ores are a bad example, but it is a good idea nonetheless. Not that I'm in a terrible struggle for hard cash, but it would be good if there could be some alternative currency, not usable items, but another form of cash. Similar to tokkul and trading sticks, but more flexible and tradeable. Who knows? It just may give rise to perhaps an auction house...Or a stock market! Well maybe if jagex didn't take their oath of non-involvement.

Im being forced to quit. Good thing or Bad thing?
Sowwy....It was a poke of fun. I tend to be annoying that way. And isn't is strange how you got a car, bigger muscles, varsity swimming, and busty ladies, all by not playing rs for a short time? Oh...no ladies? Darn shame.

What kind of school do you go to!?!? :XD: Couldn't resist.

Dragon Slayer
I wonder why Elvarg was so tough for me. I went with lvl 55 or so, full rune (chain+dfire of course), rune long, around 20 lobs and tele runes to be safe. I had to eat every last lob and beat her, with around 10hp remaining. It was the toughest fights I ever had, and kinda disappointing how everyone else found it easy.

Im being forced to quit. Good thing or Bad thing?
By being "forced not to play" I'm sure you mean you're merely losing your membership. It's pretty hard stopping someone from playing a browser-based game. Regardless, I'm sure it would be a good thing. Your life and future are far more valuable than losing some mils of gp in rs. And by the way I see it, your dad might see your good grades as proof not to play the game. You might want to plan your next grade-showing with a little cunning.

Skirt v. Legs
I always buy the more expensive item, regardless of stats. I get a feeling of pride and accomplishment, as well as the sense of authority when throwing my weight around. It should explain why I prefer to walk around in saradomin than rune, as long as someone present knows my armor is better than theirs (f2p btw). Tight budget or not, I would get the legs. It's not like the option is a "now-or-never" one, and money is pretty easy to get if you put your mind to it anyway.
