  1. LOL WUT I've seen many a fanboy, but you take the cake. Any one who isn't a rabid fanboy such as yourself can realise that the attitude Sony has had with the PS3 is nothing short of pure arrogance and it's due to that and the fact that I don't want to spend $1000 on a console with no appealing games which is why I wont be purchasing a PS3 any time soon. My post was hardly arrogant and if any one here is a fool, it is you.
  2. Probably because the game is set "in a fairy tale universe" and Midna's giggles which come through the remote, which are actually there to improve gameplay by assisting with puzzles or pointing out things you mightn't have noticed. Anyway, out of the three "next gen" consoles, Wii gets my vote. I've loved Nintendo, their consoles and their franchises since I was young and first picked up a SNES controller. Nothing is better than getting a new Mario game and running around the Mushroom Kingdom universe or tearing around Hyrule on Epona. Many of my best childhood memories are of Nintendo games and I'll keep buying their consoles till I die. The 360 would be my next choice because they have quite a few games I would like to get my hands on, namely Banjo-Kazooie 3. I couldn't care less about graphics either, which is why Wii gets my first choice, but if I do feel the need to turn into a graphics [bleep], I'd choose the 360 because of the games and the price, which brings me to the final console. PS3 isn't even an option. $1000AUD for a console with no extras is rubbish. Sony have just been far too arrogant with the PS3, forcing features that are still in their infancy, namely Blu-Ray, before they are affordable for most people. Being told that owning one is a privilege and you should get a second job to get one quite frankly, is [cabbage]. They also have no games that really appeal to me, which is the reason I buy a console. What, they have FF and MGS? Where are the other exclusives? The 360, that's where. Add that to a reason why I'd get a 360 before a PS3 too. TL;DR? Wii because I love Nintendo, 360 because they have a fair few games I want and no PS3 cause Sony have been arrogant [bleep]s this gen and there are no games I want on the PS3.
  3. Halo 3 Beta Ft. Crackdown. Seriously, I know some of you want Crackdown for Crackdown, but for every one of you, there are several others getting it just for Halo.
  4. Hiper PSU's are generally pretty good from what I've read and a 730W should be enough to power your 8800GTX. The 730W Hiper I'm looking at now is modular with the sockets on the bottom, so just make sure you're able to plug them in and it will fit your case. I say this because if you have something like a Lian Li or Antec P180 it won't fit due to the PSU mounting being on the bottom, but if its just like any other case with the PSU mounted at the top, it will be fine.
  5. Personally, I'd give who ever you bought it off a ring and tell them they shipped it with the wrong PSU settings, thus blowing it up. If they sell something, it should work out of the box with out having to change anything. Be nice about it, and hopefully they'll send a replacement, if not, you'll have to get another one. This or this should be fine replacements, unless you're running some stupidly powerful rig. Actually, would you mind listing the parts in your system just so we can see what you need to power?
  6. Out of the parts you listed, the Intel/ATi combo would probably be the best. Core2Duo E6600 will pretty much trump anything AMD can throw at them right now, except some of the really expensive chips, but even then the E6600 can do as good if not better. The X1950XT will also be far better than a 7600GT in most situations if not all. Now for a personal opinion. The case you picked is rather ugly and it is made by a brand I've never heard of. If I were you, I'd take a look at the P180. I own one and I love it to bits, nice sleek finish, quiet, comes with 3 120mm 3 speed fans. Pure awesome, abeit a bit more expensive than the one you picked. Another one which may be worth while is the Antec 900. Roughly the same price as the one you listed and its got a stupid amount of fans available to use along with a 20cm one. The Fatality mouse is a bit meh as is the keyboard. It would be a bit more expensive, but I feel that a Logitech G15 keyboard and a G5 mouse would be alot better for a gaming set up, even though you will pay a bit extra for them, what I've read about the two have been fairly positive but if you want something cheaper, this Logitech OEM set should be fine too Vista will do fine as well. A Unix based OS may cause you trouble unless you know your way around the commands and stuff, so unless you know what you're doing, best just to stick with something like Windows which will run pretty much all your programs out of the box. The keyboard, mouse and case are just what I would do if I were in your situation, but the Intel/ATi hardware is pretty damn good and will run most things nicely and is something I would consider myself. Hope that's an answer you were after and I didn't confuse you too much :P
  7. RE5 is PS3 and 360 only, but Wii gets Umbrella Chronicles. Not alot is known and all that has been shown of it is 3 seconds of video. The story is going to span from RE1 through all the other games, apart from that, nothing is really known story wise. Supposedly it's going to run on a modified RE4 engine with the Wii controls added in. Needless to say, I'll be picking it up. As for Manhunt, I just hope it doesn't get banned in Australia again for being too violent. Damn the rating board and their lack of an R18+ rating for games.

    Banjo 3

 same here but at the end of 2 they said a 3 was going to come out... who knew it would take this long... too bad i dont have an X box... better come out on ps3 or something Doubt it, Microsoft owns Rare I believe. Yup Microsoft do own rare now, so we won't be getting Goldeneye on the Virtual Console on the Wii, since Microsoft now own them. :( Ah, but there's a catch. Neither Microsoft or Rare have the rights to the James Bond games franchise. EA or Activision or one of those company's have it, so there may be a slim possibilty of Goldeneye appearing on the VC after all. Anyway, BK3 has pretty much sold MS a 360. I loved BK and BT and hopefully this one will stay true to their roots and is as kick [wagon] as the first two.
  9. So whats this? Read the post properly before you go spouting unnecessary advice.
  10. That second list was of things he already has, meaning he's got the 500GB WD drive already. All that stuff is fine though and as a P180 owner, I can safely say they are awesome cases to have.
  11. That's what I would do if I were in a position of power, just set up a bunch of these plants and introduce the recycled sewage into the supply then after a few months, make an announcement along the lines of "LOL YOU ALL BEEN DRINKING RECYCLED SEWAGE." The reaction would be priceless. Also yes, I'm all for it.
  12. I'm pretty sure that it's open to use with out invitations any more. If not, I've still got plenty of invites. Send a PM if you cant just sign up for one.
  13. Killer 7 has by far the most memorable ending to a game I've played in ages. It's just like, woah, what the hell just happened? Like having your brain punched. Man I love that game.
  14. 1. What is the goriest game you have ever played, why? Killer 7. The game might have been cel-shaded, but that didn't stop the use of red. Limbs being blown off from Heaven Smiles? Talking decapitated heads? Enemys exploding into droplets of blood? Yeah, that's pretty gory. 2. What was your first gory game, how old were you? Probably Mortal Kombat 4 on N64 back when I was about 10-11. Those fatality's still make me laugh. 3. What do you think when you experience gore in a video game? Eh, gore isn't a factor for a good game, it can add or hinder the game. 4. Do you shy away from gory games? Nope. 5. Have you ever stopped playing a game due to its gory content? Nope. 6. In general do you find gory video games better than non gory ones? Gameplay > Graphics. Always. 7. How old are you? 17
  15. My guess is you're running a resolution your monitor doesn't support. Right click on your desktop, go to properties and click on the last tab that should be settings then choose one which gives you a nice picture that you're happy with.
  16. I suggest you have a look at this review of the E6300. At stock speeds, it beats nearly everything it came up against except for some far more expensive chips and when given a decent over clock, it's able to beat those in certain benchmarks as well. The ram will need to be DDR2 PC4200 speeds too, so your current 512MB stick wouldn't be compatible. If you can stretch your budget, this would be a great card to go along with that motherboard/CPU combo. It's reasonably priced and should give great performance for the price. If you dont need that much power and dont intend to do any thing really GPU intensive, something cheaper like this would be much better suited for what you need. Actually, what is your current power supply like? That's one thing you should not skimp on when building a new set up and looking at your old system, im betting its power supply doesnt have the 24 pin connector which is needed on most new motherboards. This would be something to consider looking at if you intend to go with the newer parts.
  17. Winamp, because Windows media player annoys the hell out of me.
  18. Dell aren't that bad for laptops, they're actually quite decent. Dell and their desktop systems on the other hand...
  19. AMD 3500+ 939 Venice Asus A8N-E Motherboard XFX 7600GT, 580MHz/1.5GHz 1GB Generic [cabbage] RAM 320GB Seagate SATA2 HDD 17" Benq LCD All sitting in the sexyness that is the Antec P180 Edit: Do a search for CPU-Z, should help you in finding all your PC specs.
  20. The T7200 is a Core2 variation for laptops. 7950GTX's don't exist IIRC and while the 7900GTX can be gotten, I've only seen it available in SLi configurations. You're in Australia, so your best bet would to take a look at a custom Dell laptop. I had a quick fiddle and for just under $3800AUD, you could get a T7200, 17" screen able to run at 1920x1200, 2GB RAM, 80GB Sata HD and a GeForce Go 7900GS. That would probably be one of the closest set ups to what you wanted. But yeah, take a look at Dell and have a fiddle around with their options and find something that is what you're after.
  21. The point I was making is that Nintendo have had several successful consoles, yet you thought otherwise. I was just pointing out the fact that you were wrong.
  22. So the 60 million NES units sold which started all this is a failure? What about the 70 million GameBoys sold? Failure again? So I suppose that makes the 76 million Gameboy Advance's sold are a failure of a console on Nintendo's part again? Take your ignorant fanboy attitude elsewhere.
  23. You aren't backing up, but I'm guessing those reasons apply here. Take the game back to where you bought it and tell them you weren't able to install it due to this error and hopefully they'll swap it.
  24. Is that 35*C under load or idling, cause my idling 7600GT with stock cooling is around 55*C at the moment, which when compared to yours, is far hotter. You said he removed heat sinks too, so did you remember to re-apply some thermal paste after that? The system specs will help, but those temps are pretty low compared to my system. I've got an AMD 3500+ running at stock speeds and its around 40*C, motherboard with an nForce4 chip at 35*C and the 7600GT at 55*C. You're temperature sensors could also be acting up and reporting false temperatures. It probably isn't this, but its just another reason I could think of.
  25. Cirtus Alarm Clock I used this one while my proper alarm clock was buggered and it did the job fine, have a look into it.
