  1. I took a look at the site you want to buy from and found this. This would be a great card for you, will handle most games with minimal problems and the 7900GS's are just good cards. So yeah, this card is the one I would take.
  2. Well as I said, the 7600GT in the link I provided above should be more than enough for everyday use and your brothers RTS and FPS games.
  3. The ZD Soft link weez supplied was different to mine and is only a trial which has a 5 minute limit and will have a watermark imprinted to your video, but it should still do the job fine if you want an alternative to Hypercam.
  4. As far as I can see, a micro ATX socket 478 board with PCI-e is going to be hard to find in Australia. PCI-e would be the best way to go, but it would blow his budget if he tried to get a half decent video card along with it isn't always possible or the best path to take money wise. As I asked though, what will you be intending to do with this card? Based on that, you can either get a 7600GT which will be one of the best AGP cards you can get or if you don't intend to be doing graphics intensive tasks, you could drop it down to a 7600GS or something below that.
  5. Newegg sadly don't ship to Australia, so that isn't of any help. He was right though, a 7600GT would probably be the best card you can get for your price range and will run most games fairly good at high settings. Mine has handled what i wanted it to fine and I'm quite happy with it. The next step up from that would be to a 7800GS, but thats around $70-80 more than your budget for most cards and a step down from the 7600GT would be to the 7600GS, which is roughly $80 less and would still play games, but not to the graphical extent of either of the other two. Also, what are you going to be using this card for?
  6. Ah, oh well, merge these links into the sticky or what ever. Lock/delete this now cause there isnt any need with the sticky.
  7. There are alot of people asking for this information, so I thought I would make it easy for you and put most of the things you need in one thread. Links below will lead you to Hypercam and a couple of other screen recording programs which you may or may not like to use. Hypercam Fraps ZD Soft Screen Recorder Note - With this one, replace 4 with an A to get it and I can guarantee you 100% there is no malware/spyware/viruses in this file, but scan it for your self if you don't trust me for some reason. So there are three screen recording programs I could think of from the top of my head. If you have any others which are good and do the job, post them here with a link and I will edit it in. Now hopefully this will stop the 100's of threads asking "zomg, were do i gets t3h hypercamz!!1" or at least have them occur less. Suggestions are also welcome to what else could be added to make this thread useful for everyone.
  8. He said in OP he's running an AM2 X2 processor, which would most definitely need the extra juice. I took a look at Newegg and couldnt find anything there, but you should be able to find an extender somewhere or you could just try and get it to reach, which would be the easiest option.
  9. There's your problem, you need that cord plugged in for the proper amount of power to be delivered to your system, which is why it wont start up. Find a way to connect it, and you should be able to boot up properly and its not just P4's that need it, most CPU's need that connection these days.
  10. Occasionally my cursor decides to keep moving across the screen even when I've taken my hand off the mouse. Probably something to do with the semi-shiny wood desk its on. So yeah, as others said, a dull surface should stop it or if it keeps happening, get a new mouse.
  11. It's not against the rules so im sorry if i bother "people like you" but "people like you" are the ones that irritate me. Granted it isn't an old thread, it's still on the first page and you are still bumping it pointlessly and not adding anything to the discussion, which as quoted above, is against the rules.
  12. No. Stop bumping your own threads. If it dies, it dies, bumping doesn't do anything but irritate people like me.
  13. McDonalds. Not the greatest job in the world, but it gets me cash for what I want, and I do my job rather well, managed to get a Crew member of the month thing and an award for kitchen work at breakfast, which was voted on by all the other staff, so I must be doing something right.
  14. That is rubbish. The strap inst meant to replace a firm grip on the controller, it's just something to fall back on in case it slips and when I say slip, I mean "Whoops, I accidentally dropped it" not "It flew out of my hand when I was attempting to recreate a 150km pitch in Wii Sports baseball and the strap broke because it wasn't designed to handle that sort of force." Anyway, 360 is the next thing ill buy, if at all. I already own a Wii and there are several titles I'm looking forward to on it and there are a couple on 360 I want, such as Banjo Kazooie 3 and I have absolutely no interest in the PS3 at this time and probably wont. $1000AUD price tag FTL.
  15. The core system blows, srsly, what's the point in getting it, its gimped with no hard drive bundled in. Anyway, we don't have black friday sales in Australia, which is why I wont be seeing these cheap 360's, but as I said, if it's only the core system which are cheaper than the Wii, why would you even bother with it?
  16. Where can I find these cheaper than Wii 360's?
  17. On topic though, you want a new way to play games with graphics that arent the best, but still quite adequte, get a Wii or if you want OMGWTFBBQ graphics and a bunch of games that seem to be the same and have been done time and time again, get a 360/PS3.
  18. Spoilers dude, not every one knows that.
  19. And there's your problem. You live in the country meaning chances are there aren't any RS servers super close to your location meaning the ping times are higher as explained above which is why you're getting lag.
  20. It looks alright, personally i would swap that motherboard for the Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard because unless you want CrossFire or dont intend to overclock, it would be alright, but if you arent going to use CrossFire or want to have a go at overclocking, the P5W DH Deluxe is the way you should go.
  21. http://www.tip.it/runescape Do you mean like that? Tip.it Or like that? If its the first one, it needs to be set up like this, but replace the {}'s with []'s. {url}www.tip.it/runescape{/url} If its the second, set it up like this, once again changing the {}'s with []'s. {url=www.tip.it/runescape}Tip.it{/url} Hopefully thats what you were looking for. Edit: Beaten to it :P
  22. B will swing it if you already have it lit, not put it away. A is the way to turn it off and put it back. Either way, I finished this today and after some considerations, it wasnt what it was hyped up to be. I feel the story was a major let down, it just didnt have the depth that Majora's Mask had, you dont really get to know any characters and most of them arent characters you will remember in years to come. The ending was pretty average as well and feels rather tacked on and is left fairly open. The other thing that irritated me is there seems to be no huge side quests, something which made Majora's Mask awesome. Its mostly little tasks and things like that. I wanted something like the Kafei/Anju side quest from MM, but there doesnt seem to be one. The boss battles were a let down too, granted that when you look back at other Zelda games, they all follow the same formula which is "use item you get in dungeon to stun, hack and slash, repeat," but even then, they still seemed too easy. Even though it isnt exactly what I had been hoping for, it was still a damn great game but it was let down by the story and lack of side quests. Better than OoT but not better than MM IMO.
  23. Ive had mine since about 12.15am on the 7th of December. Played about 25 hours worth of Zelda and it kicks so much [wagon] its not funny.
  24. IIRC, they are bringing out a newer version, so when thats released, there will be a new version of AVG Free to download. I may be wrong though, so dont take my word on this.

That and its nearly $300 cheaper than the parts you listed and will still perform great for the tasks you listed. There are parts there that you can still downgrade to save more money too. So yeah, that could be a cheaper alternative to the parts you picked.
