  1. What will be the primary uses for this computer? Any heavy gaming? Do you have any parts which you could re-use from your current set up such as monitors, keyboard, mouse, speakers? Also, are you living in America? If so, i can spec you a system with most parts from Newegg which are known for great service and prices.
  2. The 6800GS is a good card, but the 7600GT can perform as good, if not better, than the 6800GS. Both cards are around the $180USD mark but the 7600GT would come out on top over the 6800GS because it has better features and due to the different cores, the 7600GT doesnt need an external power connector like the 6800GS does meaning less power consumption which then results in less heat being output. Im not saying that the 6800GS is a bad card, its just that the 7600GT can do what it the 6800GS can, but better.
  3. AM2 is AMD's new socket. It is the successor to the 939 and any new chips that AMD release will be using the AM2 socket, not 939. They are moving production over to AM2 processors and less and less 939 processors will be produced, let alone the new top of the line CPUs, thus giving you less choice to upgrade your CPU in the future if you buy a 939 socket motherboard over AM2. I can guarantee you that the next top of the line processor from AMD wont be using the 939 socket.
  4. ARGH!!! I just had the exact same random as you and i was 2 logs of beating that stupid mini game  Shame i didnt have any logs on me at the time though :P

    Date me

I was thinking the exact same thing :-k
  6. Japan are different yes, but they lapped up the PS2 at launch. Looking at that poll, with 88% saying that the PS3 is expensive makes it seem that even Japan doesn't like the PS3. Considering they are the birthplace of video games, it doesn't particularly look good for the PS3.
  7. Innovative to you perhaps, but to the average joe, the Cell processor doesn't mean anything. Neither does Blu-Ray technology. The average consumer doesn't care about how technologically advanced it is or how many teraflops the gpu can process per second. All they want are fun games that are accessible and easy to play, which is what Nintendo are doing with Wii, which is why the Wii will appeal to a wider range of people, thus giving Nintendo the upper hand in sales.
  8. That has to be one of the lamest arguements ever. Let me get this straight, youd rather play a game that is oh so pretty yet has shocking gameplay and absolutely no depth to it what so ever over something that is actually entertaining and fun to play? Man i love fanboy logic.
  9. blue107, please leave your fanboy attitude at the door next time. I found the ad quite funny myself. It couldnt hurt Nintendo to do some advertising along the line of that ad though, but we all know thats never going to happen.

    Dead Rising=Gawd

I know how you feel, im considering the same thing, I just need some other games to justify the purchase...
  13. Or even better, get rid of Norton all together. I absolutely hate that program. Uninstall it and then just stick with AVG Free as mentioned above, its a hell of a lot nicer to use than Norton, its not a resource hog and its protected me from viruses better than Norton ever did and its free too.
  14. Had these before they shrunk in the drier... Now i have these. Neither of them look like those pictures, they are dirty as hell. Hmm, methinks i might buy a new pair soon...
  15. About the 939 processors... AMD are trying to phase them out real fast with price drops and what not, so it may be worth looking at an AM2 chip. There arent any major differences between AM2 and 939 performance wise from what ive gathered, but they support DDR2 RAM and it would provide an upgrade path. Currently, most AM2 chips are only a tad more expensive than their 939 counter parts. And that eVGA 7900GT KO is a brilliant deal and is something worth seriously considering.
  16. Question, what are the specs like on the rest of your rig? But out of the ones you listed, the 7600GT or 7900GT would be fine. Personally, i would go with XFX brand because I've got an XFX 7600GT at the moment, and i absolutely love it and generally, they dont really differ between the manufacturers because there all using the reference design cooling that nVidia first used and the only notable difference between them would be clock speeds so at the moment, brands dont really make alot of difference. If your ordering from Newegg though, look into the EVGA brand of cards, they seem to be making some very nice cards that have gotten nice reviews and the prices are usually a bit cheaper than the more well known brands. But if you can stretch your funds, perhaps its worth considering a X1900XT/X, they generally have out performed the 7900GT's but one thing i consider to be a down side is its big two slot cooler which has been reported to be quite noisy. But yes, out of that list i would pick the 7600GT or anything above that. Anything below a 7600GT and you would probably end up a tad dissapointed with the performance of it.
  17. Was the file you downloaded an .iso image by any chance? If so, get a program like nero or something that has an option to burn images to disks, select the .iso file and burn it. It should then appear as the install disk for VB in my computer and then you should be able to install it from that disk.
  18. Change your resolution if they all look big and ugly perhaps? You could also try a system restore. As for the repair, put a windows XP disk in your drive, set it to boot from there and you should get 3 options, one of those should be to repair XP, select that option and hope it works.
  19. Meeting the minimum specs means that it may run it, but even if it does, it will be stupidly laggy and you would probably loose connections so many times you would want to throw the stupid thing out the window. It is possible to upgrade laptop processors, but due to the way they are assembled, it is extremely hard to do this and many people just dont bother trying to do that sort of thing.
  20. It's definitely different. You can get Blastoise, Charizard.. or Clefairy. And even if you get Clefairy, you're not guaranteed a blackout. :P Yeah, but what i meant was it wouldnt be any different from when you get the black out from Clefairy, even though the chances are pretty high for getting it.
  21. If the BIOS was dead, it wouldnt even load to windows to have a chance to restart. My guess is its a hardware related problem. Sounds like the motherboard has crapped itself. Take it into a store and get them to take a look at it and hopefully theyll be able to sort it out.
  22. Firstly, this isnt the place to be advertising your forums and secondly, saying that tip.it forums suck with out a decent reason just makes you look like a moron. So please, just leave.
  23. Ignore the above posters advice. He doesnt know what he is talking about and the things he has suggested are just stupid.
  24. Eh, it would be no different to when the Clefairy does that move that makes the screen go black in SSBM. It would only last a few seconds and would only come up if you decided to use the item :
  25. Nintendo are teasing us and wont release an exact date, but it has been confirmed it will be during Q4 this year, so some time close to Christmas most likely.
