  1. That would be true, the faster stick of ram will slow down to the speed of the slower stick of ram. So yes, that ram i listed before should work fine with the slower ram you already have but it will just run at lower speeds. But since you are upgrading, it may be worth taking a look at something like this. CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM - $78.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145526 It may be worth considering that ram. It's running at DDR2 speeds, so it can make the most of your motherboards DDR2 slots and the extra bit of speed it supplies never hurts  To recap, here is what i think you should consider getting now. Intel Pentium 4 630 - $169.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819116198 Gigabyte GA-8I945P-PRO ATX Intel Motherboard - $122.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128293 eVGA Geforce 7600GT - $189.00 (-$15 rebate = $174) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130283 SeaSonic S12-430 430W Power Supply - $96.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817151023 CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM - $78.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145526 Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB - $83.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144309 Total - $728.98 ($713.98 with $15 rebate on video card) Im pretty confident with the parts ive listed, but it may be worth getting a second opinion on them.
  2. I went out into sunlight once. It felt like my eyes were stabbed with a fork. Anyway, i remember seeing that sig, so i must have read some of your posts. Welcome back.
  3. She would just use one of her thousand phones to ring for help, so there goes that plan. My opinion of her? Too stupid for her own good or any body elses good for that matter.
  4. Here's something thats better than that 6800GS. eVGA Geforce 7600GT - $189.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130283 Another thing i noticed was that both the 6800GS and 7600GT have $15 rebates. So if you bother going about the rebate, the 6800GS ends up costing $164 and the 7600GT costs $174. Hope i havent confused you after all that  If i did, what im suggesting now is that you get the 7600GT over the 6800GS.
  5. Intel Pentium 4 630 - $169.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819116198 Gigabyte GA-8I945P-PRO Motherboard - $122.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128293 eVGA Geforce 6800GS - $179.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130267 SeaSonic 430W Power Supply - $96.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817151023 Kingston ValueRAM 512MB - $37.26 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141424 Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB - $83.00 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144309 Total - $688.24 All those parts should be compatible and work fine with each other. You might notice i added a PSU to that list. Why? Because PCI-e is a tad more power hungry than AGP so it needs the extra power. That and most PCI-e motherboards have 24 pin power connectors these days. So yeah, all those parts should work fine together, it all came under your $750 budget and hopefully these parts will last you for a few years to come. If your unsure about the parts i listed or want to know something else, just ask and hopefully ill be able to help you out.
  6. /thread for mentioning limewire :P 43.7% free on my 40GB drive and 76.6% free on my 80GB drive. Plenty of room for... stuff
  7. A couple of questions. How much do you have to spend on this and do you intend to re-use current case/monitor/speakers/keyboard/mouse or any parts out of your current computer?
  8. If youve already got 1GB in your system, you just need to find another 1GB stick that matches the specifications of the other one.
  9. Ive done several trips and the two best things ive got is verac's flail and torag's hammers. Also got obsidian shield when some one foolishly went up against dharok with out prayer. But i gave him his stuff back because im nice.
  10. Now, now children, settle down. Anyway, I had this problem while my speed was slowed. It would seem to get stuck on something while updating but if i left it, it would usually get past it and finish getting the updates. As i said in the other thread that had a similar problem to this, the only solution i can offer is to let it do its thing. Just start it up and let it get all the updates it needs. Go do something else for 10-15 minutes while it updates and then it should be fine.
  11. Heres a question, do any of you remember the old fan site runenews.net? They used to be pretty big but then they closed down when the owner lost intrest in the site and forum users decided to create RuneWeb when RuneNews was shut down completely. So to answer your question, yes, RuneWeb is legit and you wont get any malicious keyloggers or viruses from downloading content off their site. Also, if you dont believe me, mabey you should go straight to the source and ask about it on their forums. Im sure they know a hell of a lot more about their own site than what some users here would know.
  12. Whats your internet connection like? I know i had this problem while i had a slow internet connection. I would start up, switch windows and it would be all white except for the flames. I ended up just leaving the screen open and i didnt swap windows while it was getting all the new updates and it worked fine after that.
  13. It is working fine in your sig and it is easily under the size limits. Apart from that, your post made absolutely no sense to me. Care to explain what you wanted to know a bit better perhaps?
  14. PCI video cards are old and if you bought one, you wouldnt be able to run oblivion on it, so you would have just wasted your money. As for
  15. Actually, looking at that picture, you wont be upgrading anything. The motherboard doesnt have an AGP or PCI-e slot and theres no way in hell you would be able to use a regular PCI card to run something like oblivion. The only way i could see you getting a new video card is if you go out and buy a whole new motherboard that has AGP or PCI-e slots on it. And if you get a PCI-e motherboard, youve got to make sure your power supply has the right connectors and it has enough power, but thats a whole different story. So yeah, based on that picture, you cant really upgrade to a video card unless you get a whole new motherboard that has an AGP or PCI-e slot and then youve got to buy the actual video card, so it could possibly end up costing you a bit of money and generally being a pain in the arse.
  16. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144166 That was what i was trying to link to. The damn tags messed up :?
  17. Based on the fact that you were able to find and gather all this info about your RAM, i think its fair to say you have an alright knowlege about the inside of a computer. Newegg is probably one of the best places to order from based on what ive read. They have quick delivery, if they dont work, they usually send you a new part within days and they just seem all around helpful and good. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144166 That seems that it would match your current set up. You could take out your current 512MB and just have this 1GB or you could put this in with your current 512MB and see how that goes. As for installing RAM, it was pretty much plug-n-play for me. Just stuck it in the ram slots and it was all done. It should be the same for you.
  18. Can't expect everything to be handed to you on a silver platter can you? 175 QP is reasonable considering what the final reward is.
  19. They supposedly have an effect on the monsters the culinaromancer summons in the final fights. But i couldnt be bothered testing this theory :P Heh, helping people out makes me feel all warm inside :)
  20. Give me a sec and ill get that for you. Edit: The high alch for the meat tenderiser is 24,900gp. What a waste of my geepee that was :P
  21. Sorry, i just had to do it. Look, we know its fake, there was no need for this thread and besides, ive seen this picture more than once, so its nothing new at all.
  22. Tada! High Alch: 1920 High alch: 8640 High Alch: 4800 I hope thats what you were after :)
  23. Why the bloody hell did they do this!? Is it because some poor player couldnt beat the sara mage? Arrgh! This makes me so damn angry, they are just making everything too easy!!! I apologise for the exclamation marks, but this does piss me off. They are just making everything too easy for all the new players
  24. *Sigh* BTW, Taito2004, he is asking how many kills you've got. It's not a question that needs to be sent to the help & advice forum.
