Stuart_G replied to Ss_J9_Goten's topic in Tech and Computers
To start up in safe mode, rapidly hit F8 untill a menu with a bunch of options comes up, then select "Start in Safe Mode." Im not quite sure how to do what your after, so try what Mercifull said. -
Have a look around in that red circle. You may have had to done Watchtower Quest, i cant remember exactly.

Auto cast Claws of Guthix eh? This mace doesnt seem too bad at all if it can do that. Wonder if you still have to had done mage arena to use the spell.. Any one know anything about that?

id say about 30 or so. just from the topics on the official forums. Dont believe the things people say on the official forums. They are just seeking attention and hoping that they will be compensated a party hat for their supposed loss.

I also live in Australia and i know what he is talking about. If you called an aboriginal a racist slur, you would have your head kicked in yet if they call you white (insert word here) and you retaliated, you would have the full force of the law imposed on you. I think what that person on NotSafeForYou was trying to get across is double standards. I don't know how it is over in America or where ever you are from, but where i live, i can clearly see the double standards. The aboriginals are able to do what ever they like and in most cases, get away with it. For instance, i was driving home from work the other night and i happened to drive past a group of aboriginals and one threw a stick at a group of white people. Of course, they got away with it because if the whites had retaliated, they would scream bloody murder. I'm just rambling now, but i do see what the bloke on NotSafeForYou is getting at and i do agree with him to an extent.

Yeah, im australian. What else would you like to know?

They could simply start up in safe mode, log into the admin account, which isnt set a password when Windows is installed, thats the case with me anyway, and they could just remove the password from your account from there. So yes, it is possible to remove your password if they want to.

AMD Semprons are the equivalent of Intels Celerons. They are both budget chips and shouldn't be bought if you intend to do any intensive tasks or gaming.

I just got home from seeing this and i must say, i enjoyed this tons. Well worth the $9AUD i paid. Also, for those who havent seen it yet, stay after the credit have finished, there is an extra little tidbit at the end that you may or may not find interesting.

Only difference i see is that the 3700+ has double the L2 cache of the 3500+. That and the 3700+ is retail while the 3500+ is OEM.

How do you like new weapons to be introduced to the game?
Stuart_G replied to jessy87's topic in General Discussion
People dont like slayer because they need to train it intensely and requires a bit of money to be spent in the first place to reap the rewards. -
I was doing a trip a few weeks ago and there was a high alcher in there and when he turned to me with out anything happening, i knew he was a teleother'r. Anyway, some unknowing player came in and he continually cast teleother on him. Luckily he made it out alive but god did it make me angry. I was tempted to fling some verbal abuse at him, but i knew it wasnt my place to do so. But it does make me furious that people will stoop that low just for some free stuff, especially when its usually from some player who doesnt realise they can do that.

Below the slider for left and right speakers, there should be a button to turn the crossfading on or off.
-
Winamp should do nicely then. Im using it at the moment and its only taking up < 15MB of my RAM and if you ever watch videos with it, then it takes up < 40MB of RAM. Ive been pretty happy with the sound quality. Get some good speakers and it should sound very nice. If it doesnt, you can have a fiddle with the equalizer and find something that you like.

If i remember correctly, didnt Hideo Kojima really like the Wii and the innovation behind it? If he did, it makes sense why he would want Snake to be in Smash Bros. Brawl. That video is awe inspiring stuff though. The fact that it will be online makes it even better. First Twilight Princess as a Wii launch title then SSBB coming out later on, as well as the slew of great games, new and old. The Wii just cant come fast enough.

Lol, fanboys  Anyway, i knew i was always going to buy the Wii, but this just sealed it at launch. Having a Zelda at launch, supposedly the best Zelda game ever at that, could only do enormous amounts of good for Nintendo. Fishing with the Wiimote FTW!!

We now have a new contender for best console to kill someone with. It's huuuge! Also, i think this sums up my feelings perfectly.

i dunno..am i blind or do i NOT see a cd/dvd rom drive? He's probily going to use one from his current computer. Yes, ill temporaraily borrow one from the computer im using now. As for the graphics card, i dont intend to do alot of heavy gaming yet so a 6600GT should be fine for my needs for a while. Edit: Seeing as im sort of trying to keep it all under $1k for the time being, im wondering if i should swap the A8N-E out for this. Asus A8N5X motherboard - $115.50 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_36_63&products_id=17297 It seems to be an alright board which would fit nicely within my budget. Any one think otherwise?

Not as of yet. Im only getting the bare essentials to start with, then i will get things like sound cards and extra add ons later when ive got more cash.

After doing a fair bit of research, i have narrowed down the parts that i intend to build my first computer with. This is what i intend to buy. AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (S939) - $237.60 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_27_29&products_id=11478 Asus A8N-E motherboard - $146.30 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_36_63&products_id=16007 Kingston DDR 1Gb PC3200 Ram - $135.00 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_23&products_id=16856 Western Digital 250Gb 7200 8Mb Cache Hard Disk - $133.10 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_107_22&products_id=5888 Asus GeForce 6600GT, 256MB GDDR3, PCI EXPRESS 16X - $225.50 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_26&products_id=16631 Antec TruePower II-380 Watt PSU - $89.00 - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=93_74&products_id=18108 Total - $966.50 I'm just after a second opinion. I'm pretty confident in all the parts i picked and they should all go well together, but i would still like to know what some of you here think about it and if there's anything i should swap out and if so, what i should swap it out for. Also, if there is something you think needs to be swapped, could you please choose something from that site. Despite the small range, they seem to have some of the better prices compared to some other Australian site I've visited. That and there in the same state as i am, so delivery prices shouldn't hurt too much. Basically what I'm after is a bit of reassurance. Id rather buy these parts with the knowledge that I've researched them and that other people have had a look at the parts and they agree with what I'm buying than going ahead and buying them with out someone else having a look at them which may come back and bite me in the arse in the future. So, comments and criticism please?

2 May 2006 - Behind the Scenes - May This month sees the launch of our next big game engine upgrade, which Andrew has been working on for the last 6 months. This will be the biggest upgrade to the underlying engine which runs the game since we launched the new 3D engine two years ago. This time the changes are more under the hood, which means (if everything goes to plan) you shouldn't actually notice a huge amount of difference! The game engine upgrades this time are focused on allowing us to make the game bigger, and on providing support for all sorts of features we want to do in future updates. These are the sort of changes that you won't see immediately, but do allow us to do all sorts of things in the future which we've been dying to do, but couldn't previously. However there will still be quite a few improvements that you will see immediately, such as: -Much faster loading times. -Faster, cleaner updates. When we update the game it should download more quickly. -Greatly reduced memory use, resulting in a smoother game. -Vastly improved sound compatibility. Sound should work on far more machines, and work on firefox, and sound will even work in low detail mode with no performance loss. -Better sound engine, with the ability to play more simultaneous sounds at a higher quality, which we will be using to introduce ambient background sound effects at a later date. -Improved chat filter. -Far better anti-macro technology. Those cheats are in for one huge shock! :-) -Better compatibility with dual CPU computers. -Better compatibility with firewalls. -Better language support, with support for accented characters in chat, etc. -And of course lots of underlying changes to let us do more exciting stuff in the future... So... to the quests. The first of this month's quests asks the player to persuade the Wise Old Man to come out of retirement for just one last battle. Many years ago, he was possibly one of the greatest legends in the world ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ the most powerful adventurer in the land. Fame and fortune can cost dearly, though, so he hung up his mystic boots and followed a more careful life, offering help to new visitors to Draynor Village and causing the odd, erm, panic in the local bank. The time has come for him to dust off his armour and once again stand in front of the crusading hordes ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ but this time with you at his side! Great rewards, humour and some fantastic cutscenes have made this a firm favourite in the office during the past few months ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ we hope you enjoy it. The second quest brings new life to the struggle between Miscellania and Etceteria, with the player investigating odd sounds and sightings coming from beneath the Miscellanian soil. Perhaps some great evil has risen from the deep, or perhaps it's those pesky Etceterians up to no good. Those players who have helped out King Vargas before will be invited to do so again, this time potentially adding the Etceterians to their pool of resources. This in turn means that the island will have new resources available for the locals to collect ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ including flax, seeds and even bird nests! We will also be rebalancing the normal Miscellania rewards to be more generous and less demanding, so you might be surprised what they can offer you. Other updates this month include some new random events which ask the player to Grab the Evil Twin. Players operate a winch and crane with a large claw attached to the bottom ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ similar to the games you can see at fairgrounds. We also see the player being whisked off to a large troll area having to prod the correct pillars, just like a giant pinball machine! We are also adding some other smaller features to the game later this month, such as clockwork toys for your cats, teleportation tablets, making your own cups of tea and even chairs you can sit down in. Have fun! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Looks like i might have to renew my membership if these updates turn out to be any good.

I don't think that video is platform specific, nor do I think we're going to expect the Wii to have nearly as graphic-intense games as the 360 and PS3. My assumption is that this game will be released primarily for the 360 and PS3. Source

More realistic than past TH games. Last TH game i played was THUG2 and iirc, the arms were in a solid position and didnt move while grinding. The flapping of the arms while grinding is something that stood out to me. Besides, if this is a demo of the TH game being made for Wii, it wont be about the graphics. It will be about how they utilise the controler for it.
