  1. I'm using a homebrew campaign setting. And yes, I'll try something different about the colours next time. Right now I'm overlaying the colours on a layer of black and white shading.

It has no flow or structure... You jump from one idea to another without any time given to transition, or even paragraphing. You need to capitalise the first letter of every sentence. Write out numbers, not numerals. It disrupts the flow when you write "10" instead of "ten". It's fine to write the numerals for dates, but beyond that, there shouldn't be any. Suspension of disbelief... We managed to develop and produce a machine that could recycle smog into clean air on a large scale in seven years? It had a random effect that nobody found out while it was being developed? Actually, the way it's written... So the first statement suggests that the scientists didn't know this would occur, while the second suggests that they did know it would happen and took preventative measures. You need to make up your mind. Also, if all the metals were melted and then the "wave" stopped, why couldn't people just reuse the slag? If there was absolutely no metal at all, how would they have created and fueled a "fleet" of starships? That's of course suggesting that they did have metal in order to store fuel and manufacture parts, as well as for launching purposes. And a planet-sized object 50,000 miles away from the moon? Why didn't everything go absolutely out of whack from the insane gravitational effect that would have? How were people mining this substance that was harder than metal if they had no metal tools? How was it being transported back? You really need to think this through a lot more...

How about violence whist dishing out clever insults? Yes! This goes hand in hand with what we in the industry call "buckling the swash"!
  4. Yeah, I used to have braces. And I don't think appliances is the right word... It might just be me, but when I read the thread title I thought of someone with a washing machine stuck in their mouth.
  5. Shouldn't you be old enough not to cut yourself while shaving? Sheesh...
  6. We don't need to complain and whinge about the good things. And you know, if they bothered to implement a decent welfare and social security scheme in Mexico, their population problem would actually decrease in the long term. This is, of course, due to the simple ecological fact that children in wealthier societies are more expensive to raise, and thus there will be less of them. At present, people are driven to have more children because A) They are cheaper to raise; and B) They can supplement the family's income with their own.

It's more terrifying to cop a bullet in the face from a guy with a name like Hello Kitty than some pretentious kid calling himself DarkSlaya992.

A rag soaked in chloroform, some duct tape and a set of thumbscrews will solve your problem.
  9. My friends and I say lol in real life. Sometimes, we use rofl as well, and the occasional lmao or lolomgpwnt or wtfhax. It makes for lively conversation. Granted, none of us actually TYPE like that, so I guess we have to compensate for it somehow.
  10. What did you use for reference?
  11. I was talking about the original Diablo. =P Diablo 2 was an epic failure in the horror department, as far as I'm concerned.
  12. I remember playing it when I was about 10, in the dark and with the music practically pounding while you walked down a corridor. Then BAM WHAT THE HELL THERE'S A FREAKING HUGE DEMON AARRGH.
  13. It's good... but it doesn't exactly do a good job of capturing the creepy gothic feel of Diablo.

Or you can just call yourself Captain McPizza...
  15. There's a difference between evolution and social Darwinism.
  16. No, Trotsky went right back to world revolution. Stalin picked up where he left off with socialism in one country, because he wanted to bolster national security. And of course France and Italy's communist movements were weak. Those countries, unlike Russia, had gone through industrialisation under a capitalist system, which is a tough nut to break if you're waving the "hey, let's make everyone equally poor" flag. If there had been a major social upheaval in those two countries at that time, think about how much more differently World War 2 would have gone.
  17. I'm very well aware. Author's intent aside, he didn't bother to clarify. =p
  18. The Goths sacked Rome. Most of them were devoutly Christian, under King Alaric.

Eh, yeah, I didn't spend much time on the surface map. I lost the old one I was still working on when my computer went megadeath.
  20. Stalin did this, and it is probably what caused the system to fail. No, it was Trotsky. In 1921, just prior to the introduction of the NEP, when it was clear the world revolution wasn't going to happen. Stalin and most of the Party right picked it up when he took power in 1928, and Trotsky dropped it after he was exiled in favour of his usual rabble-rousing.

So... I haven't done this sort of thing for a while, and I haven't seen anyone post any Terragen for a while, either... Full view
