FFXIII coming to Xbox 360
XIII is a trilogy with 3 over games which all have an inter connected story arc Square are calling it Fabula Nova Crystalis and it comprises of FFXIII, FFversus XIII and Final fantasy agito XIII which is a mobile game. I was watching the squenix representatives get grilled over this and everything was how much money were you paid for this port.Microsoft are infamous with this snatching the DLC which Sony had pretty much wrapped up and Microsoft bought it for $50 million which is why there being questioned so much because Microsoft now has a history of this.Still no-ones seen the game actually running outside of squenix and i doubt we will for a while, final fantasy games usually come together in the last few months.

FFXIII coming to Xbox 360
Makes absolute no impact in Japan which is where this announcement would have reverberated the most. heres what we know from the Squenix press conferance: Its not announced on 360 in japan and Sony Japan have as we know exclusivity locked out on it in Japan. FF versus 13 is again as far as we know exclusive to PS3, this could chnage if microsoft buys it off. Ps3 is lead sku and Xbox 360 will be ported over. The reason its going multiplat is because of Microsofts foothold over the gamers there aiming for which is North america. Localization for the 360 sku will begin once the Ps3's is finished. Sony loose exclusivity from what are the most fastidious publisher in the industry, this is a publisher which when they jumped on compact disc and playstation for the release of Final Fantasy 7 nintendo fanboys attempted to sabotage development.Final Fantasy is oneof THE games for japanese gamers along with Kingdom Hearts and being that it remains exclusive in japan sony are'nt loosing as much as they could and microsoft honestly gain nothing in a market they are begging to get into.Just to tell you how badly they've done with the xbox platform there still on the original shipment of xbox's and on 360 only just outsold xbox months ago. Still this was what saved the most abysmal of conferances(i was moderating the Gamespot chatroom and the amount of comments over the movie game and xbox redesign were very explicit) and its probably the biggest announcement that i can think off.Sadly i think this is the end for 3rd party exclusivity which isnt protected via millions of dollars which is sad.I remember Sega publicly stating they would not put games n nintendo platforms because of heritage. Oh and this is the first year doing E3 chat moderation taht its not at 3am in the morning =D>

I find it easy 30-40.The only hard level ranges or level are 57-58 and 60-61 reason being your just wiating to get to outland and suddenly become twice as powerful and 60-61 is whne you go back to old exp usually at the end of hellfire peninsula with only a few quests so your starved off xp.Those 2 levels specifically are real rough.

Obsidian (Zerker) Necklace: What Happened to it?
Its because RS players are too freakin attached to there abbysal whips.I was a big advocate of this new way of training strength when necklace reworking and bracelets were introduced and now whatever chance this method had of becoming widely popular was drained away.

Gnomergon's just way too much for its level range, so many thing's to learn which is why when running it at level many PUG's and normal groups rarely clear it. Stole caiths Pitbull bars for raid, party and players and they look so neat, probably why theres 600 caith ripoff ui packs.

Offical Age of Conan thread
Oh and sticking with WAR ripping out stuff(probably better to discuss this in here since theres been more points on it) theres an incredible amount of damage control from the WAR fanboys.Things like 20 classes were too many and these 4 classes dont have a bearing on gameplay and removing all but 2 citys because citys are all teh same, they just have cosmetic differences. Now lets think about those two prominent points from the two most distinct removals. WAR was pitched as the first truly massive battle with the RVR combat and huge skirmish's.The huge variety and nuances that came from 20 classes was what they were hoping would create the diversity players would want in these wars rather than have just an archetype trifecta Tank, dps and healer. Now taking out 4 tanking classes for them not being diverse enough is sorta counter intuitive to what we thought was the games overriding philosiphy and it amkes you think about what might be next for the chop.I think funcom had the balls, to put it better to stick with nuanced classes(like bear shaman?i think thats one) and work on them to make them work in teh game and fuffiling promises, Onto that second point about removing 4 cities.Cities and i dont even need to ask about AoC but all cities in every MMO are not the same. Not even in wow are citys just reskinsof the same model, each city will have a differant vendors, differant level ranges and probably most importantly differant locations. It usually doenst take long for the player base to set up camp in a city which is central in the gameworld, or a city which has easy access to smaller towns or areas of importance in the gameworld.Thats why most MMO's usually have 4+ citys and for WAR which is supposedly on a MASSIVE scale to suddenly restrict the mobility of youre playerbase by having 2 main points of interests is again counter intuitive. Its how EVE:online started in the beggining until they revamped uncontrolled areas because players flatout didnt want to go or didnt really have any reason to venture out. Anyway you look at it its not good to rip out content and i dont think this is the last we will hear of it and we might hear of more content being taken out.Perhaps im blowing this out of proportion and WAR will find a way to maintaina sense of epicness but as it looks on paper and from what ive seen on video's it was looking just like wow and wow does an ok job of spreading the playerbase with all the capitals. I was never really following WAR before but i might be now just to see what happens.

Why is SSB so great?
On the surface it looks like a simple arcadey fighter but the SSB fraternity will tell you its an incredibly deep fighter which is hard to master.Ive seen the high level play and its extremely high mainly because its like jumping off the edge only to latch onto it at the last available millisecond and hopefully send the enemy whos chasing after you just way off while your there hanging. Still i dont get it along with many other fighting games, the last fighting game i played quite a bit of was Samurai Showdown

Y'know just when you thought modifications made the game a snoother and easier experience: For everything else theres masterca...well theres a person with sense who doesnt need so much combat text, raid buff information, and unit frames taking up half the screen. Edit:notice 7.6 fps in the corner, i thought on my average rig that 20-27 fps was low, more like running serpent slide cavern, bad joke :shame:

Do you own any gaming gems? (some interesting reads)
Its not old but i have one of only a 100 gran turismo 4 limited edition compilation. It contains the granturismo game along with a crazy documentry about how they mapped these vehicles and tracks as close as possible, and walking around the nurbhoring(spelling?) with a electronic tape measure getting them to within 6cm of the actual length of the track. Also A3 sized concept art, shots of the car and a laser etched crystal gran turismo logo in this cushioned box in the corner. All contained in a pseudo suede covered box. Im nolt the biggest GT fan, i always get to a point in the games where its impossible for me to progress but managing to get this from the London gameshow years ago felt really special, so naturally i wrapped it up and put it in the attic.

E3 2008 | Discussion
How you figure that one out? Well Mr Sarcastic ... Its NOTHING like it use to be .. It's only bloody press there. And duke nukem forever will NOT be at E3 Will post source later. Thats the problem e3 had in the old setup because it was gamers sneaking into a tradeshow which was only meant for journalists when it was created, its only through gamers tossing the dummy and wanting free swag that it became this ridiculously stupid event with thousands of people when it was only meant for the press in the first place. The huge bopoths you saw only came about because of gamers sneaking in and stopping the press doing there job, and it was another oppurtunity for companys to market there crap.

E3 2008 | Discussion
I think Microsoft has the weakest line up this year, the only "massive" games are GOW2 and the new Halo rts thing. Nintendo has already released their own "massive" games like SSBB and Mario kart. I think Sony's looking best this year. As far as leaks go aswell theyre going for casual gamers this e3.What i think well get from the big 3 conferances: Microsoft:Lots of GeOW2 hyping and possibly shedding some light on another halo project, its time to be talking about it.Maybe even an anouncement from bungie now that bungie is independant and microsoft has first right to refusal on there projects we might see something from bungie.Gonna be casual orientated thought with maybe a xbox live redesign to make it cleaner and easier to use and tahtwand peripheral weve been hearing about. Nintendo:Theres a unrevealed game for the hardcore that their figurehead Reggies been talking about and i think that it will be the next console animal crossing and it should be MMO.That would be the Megaton of the event if it is an MMO because Nintendo suddenly has there multi million platinum selling title for this holiday season.More casual games possibly wii music. Sony:Has the most to show in terms of exclusives, in fact as far as reports go they could be holding off the biggest announcement for TGS and the gigantic audience platform it has.Sony will be starting move ahead in terms of indie games devlopment because of Microsoft increasing the revenue split between indie gamers and them.Pixel junk eden to be the flagship psn title, more new on resistence 2 and maybe a release date from littlebig planet.I think twisted metal and GodOW3 maybe confirmed and we may see teasers but there is something yet to be shown or know outside of sony worldwide studios which Yoshida mentioned.Other than ps3 smartest thing would be a price cut on the ps3 but more importantly the ps2 to $99. What im looking forward to/wish: -Bungies next project, after halo3 and a sudden desire to move far away im very very interested to see what they do, there still ahead in terms of features in Halo 3 so i cant wait to see what they can do fresh. -A firm release date of little big planet, im wanting that game more than anything on a console -Nintendo's announcements over new titles for the wii have purposefully been heldback for e3 so there has to be something of importance there. -Mirrors edge the latest trailer provides more questions than answers and honestly it looks phenomenal. Oh nad microsoft having it on another day is mere practicality for PR and journalists, 3 lengthy conferances on one day would be nasty and also we get to see how the other 2 nintendo and sony react to previous conferances, the crazy things Nintendo did like, WOAH LOOK AT ALL THE POSITIVE PRESS WE GET AND HOW THE WII IS A PHENOMENAN, SCREW YOU MICROSOFT or sony LOOK AT THIS WE HAVE CHEWBACCA MODELING THE NEW STAR WARS PSP IT HAS A SWEET DARTHVADER HEAD ON THE BACK*awkward pause from audience*

Offical Age of Conan thread
Cross post from my AoC thread, but you guys are MMO gamers as well so it's worth posting here. I myself am laughing my [wagon] off at the WAR fanboys, mostly because they criticized AoC for being "incomplete" :P And of course it'll give you guys a nice warm and fuzzy feeling for knowing they are trying to rush out before WoTLK. Well that has to be a crushing blow to those hyping WAR.To beat wow which they are trying to do, just look at video demo's of race architecture, enemys and base features and you seeits a very close doppleganger.Funcom realised it was very smart to not rush the game out and not worry about WOTLK resulting in a very well received MMO and an MMO that fuffils a very specific niche.WAR is just trying to juggle everything that wow has and then trying to expand on it in a development cycle that is way too short for them to achieve there targets.Realising this and having to rip out parts of the game isnt good PR for any game nevermind an MMO that touted RvR pvp. And on AoC being incomplete it never was but there were people coming from other MMO's expecting more but we see this from every MMO.Joe Bong college dropout who plays games 16 hours a day and just goes ape [cabbage] on the official forums because nothing is there...Well of course not, you give time for the hardcore to equalize and reach an even footing then you start releasing serious end game content because it increases the longevity that they play. Its all about money MMO's its just how the business model works and its why where seeing the big 3 releasing major MMO's/content all at once. Btw i can see that funcom also agrees that making all leveling gear mismatch and making you look like a clown is a good mmotivator to get a good looking set of gear and play more...

I posted my impressions on the AoC thread, this is like some divide in the school dining hall..."Can you take this note over there and tell him i think he sucks..." well maybe not as petty. MMO's serious business EDIT:i point you to this thread on rs general, notice the defensive nature of them trying to validate there decision for not trying MMO's. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=749456&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Classic arguments like : Gameplay>graphics-WTF?Wow has better graphics and gameplay, any gameplay other than clicking is better to be honest. World of warcrack, once you start playing you never stop-Honestly because WoW is critical mass theres going to be more stories on addictivity and honestly all MMO's get bad pres sover this because its the sheer minority that its documented. Cant be what you want to be-Rs's skills dont affect gameplay in a sense that they jsut allow you to grind more efficiently Wow is just grinding-You play RS rethink youre argument over that, the only efficient wya to get x in RS is to grind skills You cannot solo wow to level cap-go play a rpg MMO's are for grouping and because RS doesnt have a real party system doenst mean that the game is more flexible, it makes it more limited. i dont get some of the arguments the worse being i cannot do anything else because its a full screen game...but its a good read.

Yea, im pondering whether or not to renew my membership, the levling up process is just so boring and repetitive, mostly button bashing and grinding but i really want to see what it has to offer and end game.(Although everyone says PVP sucks) Only really playing it so i have a game to play before Warhammer Online is released, (hoping to get called up for beta testing soon) Or i may have a try at AoC, but i don't really want to have to pay for basically what is an extended beta. Yeah im still gonna play though, just when its raining or nothing at all is happening, im experienced with the outland quests and chains so its not gonna take me 25 days like it did on my priest to get to 70, im at 11 i think and nearly 67. Im not really interested in warhammer mainly because its only draw was wide scale pvp and all previews indicate that at the moment its in a pretty bad state and with AoC taking the pvp'ers who want a fresh pvp system, warhammer has a lot to do.However warhammer fans will go freaking nuts over it :P Theres dudes writing lore for there character and reserving 3 copies of the gae just in case.

Got no motivation to play wow while its summer, need to get some sun on my [wagon] rather than get my warrior to 70 .

Once you go WOW, you never go back?
WTF?

Once you go WOW, you never go back?
I find wow way less time consuming, fun and more social. In fact i play half as much as i did when i was hardcore into RS, have a priest at lvl cap and a warrior, druid and warlock high up the lvl's and im playing with my mum (yeah she plays aswell while my mums on the mend) which can only be good.Im not going to sound like most wow players who dont classify runescape as an MMO because runescape is a real engrossing game when you get into it, but i dont think i can now go back to rs like i was before, the depth of content that it has, how skills have a real impact on the game and just how a real awesome piece of gear looks on your character when you receive is something i wouldnt get with runescape. Its just the way that blizzard is in the top 3 gaming publishers in the world and making $200 million dollars a month that they can just keep ahead of the competition so i cant compare Runescape to WOW fairly but yeah, i dont think i can truly go back to runescape, Onto some incorrect assumptions from posters in this thread... Wows community doenst just extend to forums, theres radio stations, countless podcasts about the game, player meetups, blizzard tournaments and even memoriums from blizzard to deceased players.Theres a famous story of a player with cancer who played with his dad and they hooked him up with an incredible day out, giving him unique in game items and an in game memorial with his character and pet. As a disclaimer, I do like rs. PastyGangsta wrote: 1. Some of the noobs are worse than ours, and thats certainly saying something! The monthly fee and game mechanics means that unless your hanging out in starting areas you rarely see noobs or beggars in the capital cities, wow is pretty good at weeding out the noobs pretty early, and a 9 year old kid wont do well creating an account and paying the monthly fee. PastyGangsta wrote: 2. The gameplay is... lacking, to put it nicely. The more button orientated nature of wow i think just makes the gameplay a lot more deep and fun that just a click interface so i cant compare but thats an idiotic statement with how deep the gameplay is in Raids and arena/battleground pvp. PastyGangsta wrote: 3. The monthly payment (1 word... DAMN!) WoW for anyone who plays it regularily has n extremely reasonable monthly payment, its worth 2x as much as RS and thats being conservative. PastyGangsta wrote: 4. The whole RWTing thing is like madness on there... RWTing didnt break the game like it did with RS, i can give gold or items to my freinds in WOW but i cannot anymore in Runescape which just plain sucks.Blizzard has also taken a big stand against botters and gold sellers taking them to court or implementing code into the game which openly shows blizzard that bot is in use. Also wow encourages macro's to an extent that it aids the player in not pressing 6 keys or switching between things., PastyGangsta wrote: 5. Hardly any updates. Wow comes out with patches which are equivalent to a years worth of RS maybe even 2 years of RS updates. To show you the last content patch,2.4 was pretty big but the largest singular patch 2.3 was 30 pages long when printed out. http://www.digitalbattle.com/2008/02/12 ... -released/ You cannot say that blizzard barely releases stuff when theyre constnatly adding things on there test realm and implementing them in mini patches, its why millions of people still play the game and that will riseincredibly with the next expansion.

9 July 2008 - Jagex Store and RuneScape Novel
It took them a fraeking long time, every fantasy MMO needs credible lore which RS has but credible lore contained in a definitive source like a book. Sounds good

Even though i dont play AoC i think i know who some of the members of HOGG are.I know 2 of them are game journalists who hate MMO's as a concept and are you there to fuel outrage and break the game and theres a serial blogger on gamespot whos playing in a guild called HOGG.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Dude dont whine about how you killed someone or got killed.Live with it , they managed to make you die before they did and thats all what matters, not whether someones gone out of there way to put a grenade launcher in there setup and you just didnt want to because of peoples issues with it on a messageboard. When you throw a grenade over a building and you see a +20 flash up you feel that sudden sense of achievement that youre enemy felt whne you also got blown away out of knowwhere. Its the circle of life that all multiplayer shooter players go through So to be hippocritical with my next statement, the p90 is broken. After switching back to the other SMG's the fact that the p90 dumps bullets harder faster and with still awesome accuracy at hip is silly, i think the model of the gun just lends it self to being able to just point very acuratly being that it is a bit of a brick.Hipocrasy over.
