  2. 1 GB = 1000 MB. 512 MB = 0.512 GB Accccctually, 1 GB = 1024 MB 512 MB = 0.5 GB
  3. That's....odd, I've never gotten a headache that I can remember from being on the computer too long in the past 4-5 years =\ I really havent had a headache for the past year though other than the few days after I had my wisdom teeth removed
  4. You're on the right track there. That computer has pretty much the same specs as mine and I'm comfortably running vector linux on it. (Ubuntu killed it outright)
  5. The only tricky part of it I remember is the wetlands, just make sure you have you beast spotting ability on if you have it and stay faaaar away from crocs (huge radius) and you should be at loch modan in no time. If you have a pet you're pretty much guaranteed not to die if they have growl and you can sacrifice them :)
  6. What's wrong with Fahrenheit other than being one of the few countries in the world to use it? Very cold is 0 and Very hot is 100 and anything inbetween is nice and easy to pick out which side of the scale it's on :)
  7. Ah, whoops, maybe I was thinking of another big program that always caused those errors to show up :P
  8. Even though Dr Watsons might be listed as a handy program by some major computer magazines, it's always done that to me whenever I try to open a folder... So, don't install it again :P
  9. I don't know where you live but a CD over here in the US is $10-$15. Why do you think buying from Itunes is bull? Because you need to pay for it? I think he might be talking about the DRM? But even that can be circumvented by burning to a CD and ripping back with a little loss in quality.... and trust me here, when you're out jogging or listening to a song in your car do you really need eleventy billion kbps?
  10. then what about saturn? http://www.enterprisemission.com/_artic ... _rings.jpg  Nooooooo way, you don't mess with Saturn and his homeboys :) I mean, just look how many there are!
  11. The publishers must be thinking all their dreams have come true. They will re-publish the books which students will buy because it will be an updated version and in the process will make lots of money. And of course, in the US it will cost us >3 times as much to buy a book that erased a planets name as other countries :P

It looked like he was planning on the desktop and server being seperate
  13. I let the german exchange student read my magazine :) It was more nice for us though... because of how comical it was :P
  14. Well your righting this, arn't you on the computer? Woah there Einstein! Did you check to see when he wrote it? Don't get ahead of yourself now and add another of your quotes to your selection. :wall: Writing, wrote same thing, your just tring to start another flaming war. Man can't you leave me alone, you'r starting to bug me. If the OT board had a voice... that's what it would say. :)

I think it may have been your wording was unclear, but I'm going to point out one thing. A multiboot can only have one OS running at a time (without going into all that virtual stuff). This means that your server can't be running the same time as ubuntu desktop. You might have already known this, but it needs to be pointed out.
  16. Please... it's Climate Change, not Global Warming :)
  17. But it's getting hotter faster than evidence shows from the part where we'd be after the last ice age.
  18. You mean they were shapes!? ;\
  19. I'm level 3! I swear, it took me 3/4 of the time to find the 1 dot -.-
  20. I'm going to have to agree with you on this one, it just tickles my pickle =P~
  21. I have the same trouble. It's hard to find some CD's here for some of the band's I like. So I maybe download a song or two, and if I really like it, I'll try to buy it online. Which brings us back to the point, why buy it if you can get it for free? Because some people feel that no matter how much the artist ends up receiving that they deserve to have a portion of the persons money, because they like that artist.
  22. Ok, so a friend of mine got a WCG200 router (it was the only router instock at the store) and is using it on her cable connection. The problem? Her roommate is hooked up to it too and it shows her as having a connection, but she can't do anything with it. The wireless is also full strength for her roommate, but anywhere she goes it says that it can't find the host. Right now it really isn't an option to go out and find another router. (Or could it be that cable companies only allow specific MAC addresses?). The current set up as far as I know is the cable modem -> router -> the computers. Please ask anything I forgot to cover! It would be great to have help on this tonight, so add me on MSN if you want to help :)
  23. This is certainly the case with me. I don't know if it's been mentioned, so I'll ask anyway: what about classical music written by long-dead folk (EDIT: /whilst they were alive)? Pretty much anything
  24. If only there was a Shawn Hogan for the RIAA >.
  25. Sure... Vector Linux and DSL are very good distros if all you have is a 400mhz computer chugging away with 64mb RAM :) Vector Linux seems to me to have a better community supportwise, but it also has a more business like approach in the offered distros (not that it hurts them :) ) As for some more fun stuff like MythTV (a tivo type system) or Asterisk (the whole phone system thing where you can do the whole shebang like Press 1 for XXXX :P ), they have some specialized distros that pretty much come with only the stuff needed to run them. For MythTV there is KnoppMyth (although there is a muuuuuch better guide out there on how to run it with Fedora Core 4. For Asterisk, I really only remember one specialized distro, Trixbox. Also, out of interest, what was this video(or the content of it)? If you give us enough information we may be able to show you how to do that, whatever it was. :P
