  2. Have you read any of the thread on RSOF entitled Wildy/Free Trade Thoughts ....? (QFC: 16-17-689-62163886) Quite a few people think that with free trade, they will now be able to transfer all their wealth from their ancillary accounts to their mains. I guess they dont need those accounts anymore, now that the referendum has been railroaded through. What Im hoping happens: (1) Membership surges in February as everyone buys members for all these accounts (2) Transfers are made (or not made, depending on your view of what Jagex will tolerate) (3) Membership drops like a rock as all the ancillary accounts are cancelled (4) That rat bastard Gerhard ends up with egg all over his face

FWIW, this change didn't happen overnight. This has been noted by astronomers for years. It's a phenomenon called precession and it's been measured for many many years. What it boils down to is that if the Babylonians were alive today and inventing astrology, there would be 13 signs and the dates would all be different, because the path of the ecliptic is moving very very slowly across the sky. It covers 1 degree every 72 years; in about 26,000 years it will make a complete journey around the sky and the signs will line up again. Eventually, none of the astrological signs will line up with the astronomical ones.
  4. If Runescape truly has 130 million registered accounts (as Jagex claims), them 1.2 million is less than 1% of that total. If Runescape truly has 10 million active accounts (as Jagex claims), them 1.2 million is about 12% of that total. I'm surprised the turnout is so low, frankly... I've seen people all day long insisting that FT/W is coming back tomorrow, that the GE itself is going away, that rares are going away...
  5. The last 10 songs in the Hump Day iTunes shuffle: Led Zeppelin - Kashmir Yes - Changes XTC - The Smartest Monkeys The Waterboys - Preparing to Fly The Spinners - Games People Play Talking Heads - Moon Rocks Suzanne Vega - When Heroes Go Down Nanci Griffith - Banks of the Ponchartrain Prince - Housequake The Police - Too Much Information
  6. Kudos to two of the meatiest articles I have seen in a while. It's a shame they cant be summed up in a snappy, one-line slogan for chanting in-game. ===== As an aside, since becoming a holidays only player, Ive already received two unsolicited purchase offers for my account. It is amazing the lengths people will go to in order to beat the system.
  7. Xps 400, I had read that this model along with others do not use a Dell proprietary power supply. This PC is from 2006, so Dell has a bit more upgradeability in these models Mmmkay, but my concern wasn't the proprietary nature of connectors - it was the possibility of the mobos themselves being unable to handle that much current.
  8. I am reading that upgrading the power supply on a Dell system can be a very bad idea. What specific Dell model do you have?
  9. That there Gravatar site is pretty handy for things like this.
  10. And people play games to escape from real life and its problems. They don't play video games to learn life skills. I'd be inclined to agree... but so many in the Yes camp are arguing exactly that - that the original Wildy taught worthwhile life skills. I believe it was actually earlier in this thread, though there are so many similar threads they are beginning to run together. I still don't have a problem with old Wildy worlds, or even a new area with old Wildy rules (leaving the current Wildy area as is).
  11. The last 10 songs in the Hump Day iTunes shuffle: Electric Light Orchestra - Take Me On and On Plastic Ono Band - Cold Turkey Planet P Project - Why Me? David Byrne & Brian Eno - Strange Overtones Hootie & The Blowfish - I Go Blind Factor - Missed the Train (feat. 12. No. This is the one reason behind their rigged poll: so that when the [cabbage] hits the fan and there are inevitable riots, Jagex can kick back and say "hey, you guys said you wanted this with 1m votes." The other reason was to get people who had retired friends to spread the word and get them to give a second look at returning to RS. I’d be surprised if there are any “riots” due to the side effects of a FT/W rollback. I also don't expect there will be any "riots" by the No voters. I'm content to let my monthly membership stipend speak for me. If I don't find the game entertaining or I don't care for the direction it is headed, I can walk away. "Rioting" is for bratz.
  13. P.S. Thanks for pointing that out to me, do you happen to have a screenshot?
  14. Jagex is pulling out all the stops to get people to become members right now. Theres a banner ad currently running on the F2P side - they are running a sale on PayBySMS memberships right now @ $6.99. If my memory is correct, thats usually $9.99 - quite a sale going on.
  15. The last 10 songs in the iTunes Hump Day shuffle: Chicago - Old Days (Remastered LP Version) Wire - Kidney Bingos The KLF w/ Tammy Wynette - Justified and Ancient Elvis Presley - Walk a Mile in My Shoes Kiss - Beth Jackson Browne - I Am a Patriot Chumbawumba - Tubthumping Three Dog Night - Midnight Runaway Billy Joel - Two Thousand Years XTC - Playground
  16. You know, it would honestly be simpler if they just created a new Wilderness area with the old rules, rather than go through the task of stripping the legacy Wilderness area of content. Easier to code, easier to implement, less likely to be full of [bleep]ed up coding oversights... I’m sure someone else said this...
  17. It's also against the law to pirate software in China... don't hold your breath on that one either. re: Chinese gold farming - http://news.cnet.com...0275180-62.html and another: http://wow.joystiq.c...t-really-a-ban/ for the trifecta: http://ict4dblog.wor...-fact-it-hasnt/ one more, perhaps: http://www.kotaku.com.au/2009/07/hold-on-chinas-gold-farming-ban-clarified/ But we wouldn't want to let anything like the facts get in the way of our precious Wildy.
  18. re: "What Does This Mean?" It only seems to be a 180 degree turn because it's been so suddenly sprung on the Community-at-large. They have obviously been tossing this around for a while in Jagex Towers. It’s a slick marketing ploy to get players to spend their Xmas cash with Jagex. Oh, and also - First to go Ackbar:
  19. You are just another skiller looking at everything from your own point of view. It's clear to see why only bs would come out of your mouth when talking about pkers and pking- afterall, you've clearly never pk-ed. His points are totally valid. The segment of the player base that enjoys this thuggish behavior should be kept separated from the players who don't. What you and so many other PK advocates want is for everyone to play your way. Victimizers & bullies cannot exist without people to victimize and bully. That's why they chafed when separated from the rest of the pack - they had no one to pick on except their own miserable kind. The move to bring the old wildy back on all worlds is just a search for fresh victims and cheap adolescent thrills. It's nothing short of hazing, and Jagex should be ashamed to be going down this road.
  20. My family's dinner & gift swap is 5 hours away... I'm betting on cash & gift cards and maybe a homemade apple pie from my sister-in-law... as long as no one buys me underwear or socks I'm good with it. EDIT - It ended up being an all-cash haul. Probably gonna have to use it all for 2010 taxes though; I haven't made any quarterly payments. :ohnoes:
  21. The initial poll was unfair; no bones about it. The current vote doesn't change the unfairness of the original poll one iota. My membership elapsed on 12/23/2010 @ 23:59 and I won't be renewing it. Even if they take months to code the changes, I see no point in throwing any more money at the game. Now, I could care less if they set up worlds for people to voluntarily go and participate. But they've been clear it will be "wildy on all servers" or "wildy on none", and I can't go along with that. What Jagex is proposing bringing back is hazing, and I have lost all respect for them. On the bright side: I'll be buying a new HD radio / MP3 unit for my car in the near future with the money I saved on RS. Always look on the bright side of life.
  22. Theyve been rather up front in saying it will be an all-or-nothing implementation.
