DERP HERP Y U CUT WILLOW *or any log thats not ivy* WHEN UR 99 HERPPP
Nowhere in the original post is any claim made that willows are superior. It is stated as a preference. The rant is about the mindless denizens of Runescape who cannot handle anything that doesn't fit what they themselves have deemed as the best way, through statistics or mindlessly quoting someones guide or other personal preference - the mindless, omnipresent kibitzers who populate this game.

Can't make a guest Direct Cable Connection in XP
If you are willing to spend money, you could always go the Laplink route, though that's a bit pricey for a 1-time use. But if your grandmother is writing the check, hey.

You can use WinRAR to split to volumes of various sizes - including 3.5" floppies. You can take the archive off in pieces that way. It's on the General tab when you create your archive. You may end up with a few hundred pieces, but at least you can get them off the laptop.

Re: Choice Back in 2002, Jagex released a quest called Family Crest with rewards being a pair of enchantable gauntlets. The player got to choose between Smithing, Cooking & Magic gauntlets, each benefiting a different skill in the game. The initial abilities of the Family Crest gauntlets were permanent - you were not able to change between the Cooking, Smithing & Magic gaunts. It was only after a long time that Jagex relented to player grumbling and made them changeable - for a price. I do not believe the player base is any more willing now to accept the permanent consequences of choice than they were in the early 2000s.

What happened to this community?
Its a game. If you disrespect me in a game, call me a bot, call me all kinds of names because I didn't do EXACTLY what you wanted, then I am going to F with you. Let there be no doubt, that I can be the biggest ass in runescape. Its a matter of personal pride of course. Nothing you elistists can't understand... I actually love how you put "you elistists" in the bottom on of your post, yet you have 99 in every stat excluding RC (at 98) and DG (at 96.) Seems a tad inconsistent. He doesn't think everyone else is inferior though, which is what an elitist is about. Grandiosity

Following!
At this point, I feel obliged to mention that yes, I am familiar with all the teleport options in the game. :wall: :wall: I could just as easily log out of the game to prevent latch-ons, and it would be 100% effective - but that's no more a valid or desirable solution than the teleport nonsense. I'm not your mama - stop latching onto me like some pup looking for a warm teat.

What / Where is this building?
I am impressed. I had it figured for a church (the large window over the door and the cross at the top of the steeple), but I had no idea where it was.

What / Where is this building?
I came across this unidentified image on the web and wanted to find out more about it. Can anyone identify what / where this is?

Limewire shut down
I didn't want to start a completely new topic for this. U.S. Government Seizes BitTorrent Search Engine Domain and More (via TorrentFreak) They mostly seized domains associated with counterfeit merchandise, but they did snag torrent-finder.com in the dragnet.

Report: N. Korea fires on S. Korea, injuring at least 6
The US and the ROK have a mutual defense treaty, which means if North Korea ever truly starts the war back up, the US will be involved militarily. If North Korea ever used a nuke on the ROK, they'd get at least one in return. And yes, the PRC & North Korea have a similar treaty to protect the North Koreans against unprovoked aggression. Slightly off topic: this satellite view of the Korean peninsula at night. That is one ass-backwards country.

Bandwidth Monitoring Software
I am looking for some sort of way to monitor my Internet traffic. The graph in Windows Task Manager is not sufficient - it only shows me my total bandwidth, not broken down by process or app. I have something running in the background and it's driving me nuts - kicking in at the most inopportune times and generally slowing me down. I can't figure out what it is. Likely suspects I have ruled out: Adobe Acrobat - automatic updates turned off Sun Java - automatic updates turned off Windows Security Center - automatic updates turned off Could be Google Chrome, but I can never catch the GoogleUpdate process running when this is going on. I am reasonably certain I'm not spamming out emails unawares, and there is nothing P2P running. I am on dial-up and this is a HUGE P.I.T.A. I schedule my bulky downloads for when I am eating, sleeping, etc. I don't need uppity apps running on some schedule other than mine. Any recommendations would be helpful.

What happened to everyone?
Hear, hear. In the words of the inimitable Bart Simpson: People who go to W117 for effigies are getting a taste for just how much this sort of transaction takes it on the tonsils. At least with effigies, you can filter out the chaff and just click on the pink text to transact business. P2P trading never quite had it this good.

Yes... i'm a summoning noob. Help with summoning please :)
You should use those penguin points on a higher skill. You are getting burned if you use them for something low-leveled. Level of skill choice x 25 = amount of experience per point That’s pretty weak rewards for low level skills. Use the penguin points for the highest skill you are training.

We'll see who missed the point... Yes, I can. I don't merch godswords or use them. Boss fighting? Not my cup of tea. Strike two. And now we get to the trickle-down effects, which really were a side point in the article, and all seem to be based around benefits to PvP or boss fighting. I've been to a few of the resource dungeons, but none are really compelling enough (IMO) to justify jumping the Dung hurdles. If they make it worthwhile to you, then hurray. I can get by & thrive without them, thanks. Without detailing the rewards, let’s just say I’ve looked at what’s in the shop and I see nothing compelling. The only real changes it's made in my day-to-day routine is (1) free teleport to assist effigies and (2) the neutering of Tears of Guthix (Dung is my low "skill"). So yes, I can realistically ignore the effects. We don’t all play the game the same way or even play the same parts of the game, and that's the point that you missed. Enjoy your content, but please don't preach to me that I have to play the game that way, because quite frankly, I don't. And Jagex will take my money every month just as gladly as they take yours. Q. E. D.

Question on deleting music from iTunes + PC
AFAIK, you have to two-step it (delete it from the library and then delete it from your drive).

Re: Whether You Love It or Hate It, You Simply Cant Ignore It: Actually, we can do just that. The last time I checked, Dung isn't compulsory. It has no bearing on my gameplay, nor is it something thats on my RS Bucket List. That decision is in Jagex hands. But there's no way they can force my participation. I make my own decisions on which content I partake in and which I dont. If I dont want to PK, then I stay off PK worlds. The final decision is mine. If I dont want to build Dahmarocs statue, I drop the rocks or turn them off. The final decision is mine. etc. al. ad infinitum Lasting effects can be both positive and negative. That doesnt make the content any more compelling. Been there, done that, made my decision, done with Dung. We have people who don't train any number of skills. Yet, when people say they arent training Dung, it raises hackles. Why can't those of you who like it simply accept the fact that there are as many, if not more, who despise it? Live and let live. I don't expect Jagex to retroactively correct the taxonomy of Dung - but as I said earlier, its not on my Bucket List either.
