  1. All they have to do is make the XP column sortable and your wish is granted. Right?
  2. So it's known and proven that you don't get tokens for dung xp via lamps/penguins?
  3. That's the way I see it as well. I don't care a lot for what I am seeing in the store. If I am within 500-1000 xp of unlocking a new floor, I'll spend tokens to level, but basically I am hoarding with no intent to buy.

Things I do: (1) I take a maging or ranging familiar to snipe at him from a distance (2) I pick up the crystals during one window of opportunity and place them on the next one (3) I do not turn on protection prayers until the final ⅓ of the battle, then I protect from mage (4) I stand back far enough that I can sidestep the slow moving boulders he throws (5) Standing behind the debris usually makes him throw boulders and clear up his own mess
  5. Interesting, but then why coal didnt rise? They are supposed to be complement goods. Well, coal has already been slowly rising for a while now. And it's also in steady supply from MTK. I wouldn't expect a huge spike in coal prices.
  6. I might merch these, but I would never ever consider these as a long term investment. You never know when Jagex will pull something out that will change the game. This goes for any consumable item, BTW, not just bones.
  7. The last 10 songs in the iTunes Hump Day shuffle: The Waterboys - Meet Me At The Station XTC - Green Man Elvis Costello - Veronica Paul McCartney - This One Big Country - Angle Park The Monkees - Take A Giant Step 10,000 Maniacs - Please Forgive Us World At A Glance - Burning Out Prince - Alphabet St. Ben Folds Five - Brick
  8. I might want one for niche uses: Falconry - less bone dropping / burying Champions Challenge gruntwork - might as well get something out of the goblins / hillies / etc.
  9. You can make more than one of these; I highly recommend you do so this time round. Will save you a lot of trouble in case of future loss.
  10. Or bought the ticket, decided they didn't want the banner & sold the code for mad money?
  11. Since the flag and the event must be purchased together and cannot be obtained in any other way, the flag and the event are collectively $120. Any attempt to separate them is silly game-playing. Heh - the junk trading mentality as applied to real-world situations. MLB still does this - Bobblehead Night, Bat Night, Poster Night, Cap Night, etc. al. Just try standing outside the gate and asking for your "free" souvenir item without buying a ticket, though. ;)
  12. Nobody here is claiming it's about micropayments, though. At least, I'm not. Micropayments are small amounts of money, generally accepted to be $15ish or less. http://www.onegoodmove.org/fallacy/straw.htm :wall:
  13. If the banner were 100% locked & tied to people who actually bought a ticket & attended, I might be more willing to shrug it off and accept it as a nice memento for attendees. But the code is delivered separately from the ticket, and quite frankly people can & will sell the code to recoup travel expenses or have turkey leg money at the event. It stinks to high heaven.
  14. As it stands, I wouldn't attend if they held it within walking distance (not that they would - I live in the boonies). As people keep going back to the "insignificant item" fallacy (staff members again, I note) - I must point out - it's the principal of in-game rewards for real world cash that is offensive.
  15. BP was renting it from a company named Transocean, but it was built by South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries. The story is a conspiracy theory (IMO), but I thought it was interesting enough to pass along.
  16. Just to stir the pot a bit... ref: http://www.whatdoesi...m/index1367.htm
  17. Can you buy a box of steaks without buying a Bentley? Yes. Can you buy steaks from other vendors besides your Bentley dealer? Yes. Can you get the flag without buying a ticket? It would seem no. Is there any real way then, to separate the buyers who want to attend from the buyers who only want the pixels? No, not really. It's a monopoly situation. If you only want the pixels, you have to buy the ticket, or buy a code from a profiteer. Thanks for playing.
  18. Thank you for clearing that up for us all. Now, can you direct me to instructions for getting the item without paying any money? At this point, I'd even settle for a micropayment. Take your time. Buy a ticket to Runefest, go to Runefest, have a great time. You will get an item free on top of that. Um, no. That's a deceptive marketing tactic, and I'm sorry you are falling for it. You don't get to split the cost of a package to pretend parts are free. Teenagers try this trick sometimes, but most adults can see right through it. Lovely personal attacks. But the lame "get over it" that you tossed in costs you style points, and that's really all you had going for you. :shame:

  20. Well, neither of us has anything concrete on this, so not much point in batting it around too much. Doesn't matter, as we aren't in the realm of micropayments here - micropayments is a fuzzy word but generally accepted as below $15. We are way out of that ball park. You really don't know whose feelings are in the minority or the majority. You just made that up. One thing that is undeniable, though, is that the vast majority of players will never even have the opportunity to go to this event or get that item. As for vendettas, that's a matter of perspective. I compliment Jagex when I like what they are doing; I criticize them when I don't. When Gerhard took over I made many positive comments as he instituted positive changes. But things are rapidly backsliding and I won't pull punches just because some people don't like seeing their holy cows take a few pokes. I could just as easily counter with a remark about tip.it's lack of objectivity due to their relationship with Jagex. It's quite interesting to watch staff member after staff member line up with fallacious arguments. If you think that's what the argument is about, then you aren't paying attention at all. Amen.
  21. If the item is free, how do I get mine without buying a ticket?
  22. I'm sorry, but a commemorative, cosmetic item for someone who has £75 burning a hole in his pocket is not in the spirit of this game. Some of us will object and point it out. Get over it.
  23. It's money for pixels, no matter how hard & how often you try to slap a coat of shiny happy paint on it.
  24. Or having the banners disappear after x many days. But what would be the point of putting in a promotional in-game banner that wouldn't be seen until after the event has transpired? So the item can't really be considered promotional at all - it's an atta-boy to people who will pony up £75 for a ticket.
  25. i agree full heartedly (and im not going to runefest btw) Agreed, it's a flag. Lets be serious here eh A pixel is a pixel is a pixel. A terrible precedent is being set. Pixels now for sale; forward your CC# to Jagex. Oh, and you get a ticket too! What's to stop them from attaching commemorative in-game items to the purchase of real-world items in the Jagex shop? Buy a hoodie & get an e-hoodie to go with it! I am very, very disappointed in this company right now.
