Well, I was going to Turk all day... but instead I got sucked into this. :oops: And to top it off, it's Penguin Day so I got nothing productive done. But I did get every task done, except for the abyssal titan one. That's a few levels away. The cloak is fugly. Will be interesting to see if they retcon elite tasks onto any of the other diaries.

If people could buy noted quantities at the store, then fixed GE prices would make sense. Billy Bob buys 5k vials at the store (in a certificate), Jagex sets the price in stores & the GE, and merchants have no way to make money on the items. Billy Bob then has to use the items, or he can sell though the GE and break even. Putting skilling resources in the stores in limited quantities is asshattery at its finest.

Just wait until you need more than 27 of each... Vial & eye merchants filled a needed service.

Good luck. Phoenix feathers aren't tradable so they won't be used extensively for training herblore. No, but they do give 26 thieving xp each to get. And Uzer's just a magic carpet ride away. I think you underestimate how willing people will be to pick their own.

Some random musings: (1) I'd wager the number of high herbalists who actually give a rat's hindquarters about going PvP is a small number. PvP are the hunters. Herblorists are the gatherers. (2) Most of the herblorists decanted their 3-dose pots to 4-dose pots long ago. Since the new super pots can't currently be made from 4-dosers, this update has fallen way back on my back burner of things to do. Anecdotal forum postings & conversations in-game lend support. Many are just waiting to see if Jagex will fix this. (2a) Jagex should, once and for all, put an end to the multiple doses fiasco. Either 3 or 4, but not both. The KISS Principle applies. (3) The one place I might want to use the pots is in fighting boss monsters that right now require teams, or perhaps in the fight caves. (4) I'd rather be selling most of these pots than using them. (5) For all of you flagging me down in the game asking how I got 99 herb: I bought grimy herbs, cleaned them and sold them back with a 100gp markup. I went from 96 to 99 this way. And yes, I made a profit - because some of you lazy [wagon] had money to burn and wanted only clean herbs. It was boring, but I made money and got the cape.

There is a problem that needs addressing. I just tried making a Super antifire. Trouble is, I 4-dosed all my pots long ago. And you have to use 3-dosers.

New weapons come into the game via drops, they immediately become merch items. A chance to restore some semblance of parity to herblorists - and the new, highly desirable pots are untradable. [sarcasm]WTFG, Jagex[/sarcasm] Also, so very grateful that I made 99 herb this week and don't have to fool with the silly raw materials mechanizations. Bloods are slow. I have never crafted combo runes. Most people craft astrals this way: They fill their pouches at the lunar bank, get a stack of laws and wield a staff than has earth runes in it. You then run to the altar, craft and teleport back to the bank with the moonclan teleport. It uses a law and 2 of the astrals you just crafted. I want to say 2000-2500 astrals an hour (which double to 4-5000 produced). My math might be a little fuzzy. Some people claim higher rates, but I run to the abyss every time my pouch degrades (glory to Edgeville) and make a side trip to the blood altar, so my rates are atypical. One thing that sours me on blood crafting is the expense in forinthry braces, which I would not use the abyss without.

At 82, double astrals are nice, fact & profitable. I'd be tempted to penguin up to 82 and not do any real crafting until then.
