What are you listening to right now!?
In 481 pages I think this is the first time I read someone mentioning the Sugarcubes. Good stuff. : Yeah I like that song a lot. Now up: R.E.M. - Electrolite

no more ents = no more broken axes?
Of course they will not be rares. Too many people have started threads on fansites and forums asking if they possibly might become rare. Undoubtably, Planet Jagex has noticed this and will never allow them to become tradeable rares. That is, if they hadn't thought of it already (which I suspect they had). You people and your pipe dreams of instant wealth. The luckiest people in the world are the people who work the hardest.

The question of Belgium
What is this infatuation Europe has with microstates? All these little factions and pocket kingdoms - it's like pre-World War Europe all over again.

I am reserving judgment until we actually see the changes to randoms. Sounds like all the ones I really hate might still be around. Rewards be damned; just leave me be.

30-January-2009 Penguin bannings
The REAL issue with RWT was all the credit card fraud baggage that came along with it.

Temporary lack of penguins
And when we do see who gets punished and who doesn't - and you see my name isn't mentioned, I expect a public apology from you on this board.

Temporary lack of penguins
We are not arguing about whether they cheated or not. At least I am not. We are arguing about degrees of punishment. Now, what is there that you don't understand?

Temporary lack of penguins
Yes, but he was deliberately messing over other people. And yes, I imagine there was a bit of study on his part ahead of time to look for this exploit. Killing people at your POH is not a normal course of action. But spying penguins is a normal course of action in the Penguin Hunt minigame. I still say no perm bans over this. My guess is you've abused the bug. People abused. Spying on penguins once is a normal course of action, making trips over and over again to get points isn't. No, and I must ask you to cease and desist in making such accusations. So it's come to this now? We must line up to condemn the perps or else be presumed guilty as well? That sort of black and white thinking is weak. You make me sick.

How is a permanent ban not a suitable punishment for BUG ABUSE. Keep in mind, these people didn't get out of bed Wednesday morning scheming on how they'd beat the penguins for a million XP. They saw a windfall opportunity and made a bad choice. It's not like it was premeditated. It's not like in the old days when people sat around and studied for weaknesses in the packet data to duplicate items and create wealth. Those were premeditated schemes and deserved lifetime bans. The players who walked into the penguin fiasco made a bad snap decision and should not get lifetime bans. Punishments, yes. Rollbacks, yes. But not lifetime bans.

I will state for the record that I don't think there should be perm bans over this. We need a more creative "scarlet letter." How about rolling back the ill-gotten XP and then freezing the skill so that the miscreants can't advance it at all for some period of time ( a month, 3 months, a year)? Make the punishment fit the crime.

BSG 4.5
Yeah, let's piece this together. A few eps ago, Corn Muffin Cally was trying to airlock her baby because she feared it was a hybrid (having just caught Tigh, Tyrol, Anders and that chick having their Cylon weekly meeting). Now Doc Cottle tells us that Cally knew the baby was never Tyrol's - that she had gotten a paternity test and found out that Hot Dog was the baby daddy. WTF

Internet speed, download managers, etc. questions.
That's OK - I found their page of access numbers, and they seem to all be 56K. Their prices are a rip-off, though. You could get more dial-up for less money (ref: http://www.totalusa.net/cgi-bin/search. ... method=all). Their $7.99 plan is good for 300 hours a month - 10 hours a day. But I digress. You could try researching some of the things here if you want to dig further. One easy thing to do is dial "1" and listen to see how quiet/noisy the line is without a dial tone. If you can hear pops, the other phone line, crackles, anything else, then you have wiring issues. If you have a lot of things plugged into your phone line, you could try disconnecting them all except your modem and see if your connection improves. It now becomes really a trial-and-error process on your part. Sorry I couldn't really solve your problem.

It answers my question. I was making sure you actually had a 56K modem, as opposed to something lesser like an old Hayes Optima or such. Who's your ISP? Homepage for them would be nice if you have it. If you are comfortable posting it, I would like the actual number you dial into to connect.

Spirit seeds
Anything that drops herb seeds. Try this search on the Tip.It Bestiary. There seems to be no easy way to separate the seed-droppers from the herb-droppers. Unlike most herb seeds, you cannot get them from pickpocketing Master Farmers.

The mods don't count words in posts, nor lines. Control Panel ---> System ---> Hardware ---> Device Manager

So right now, what's your speed? When I hover the mouse pointer over my taskbar icon, it pops up: 21.6 Kbps. I can go to a different line and get 24, but that one doesn't let me see if there's any traffic in or out as easy. Why? What's the make and model of your modem?
