my Pure
Although I don't have any experience creating a "pure", I recommend that you train defence so that you can wear some half-decent armor. Good job on the range and magic levels.

tank pures?????
Traditionally, "tanks" were characters that were built to take a lot of damage and last a long time in battle. "Tanks" basically relied almost entirely on HP and defence. An incredibly high defence protected the "tank" from damage and an incredibly high HP allowed the "tank" to absorb a lot of damage whenever it broke through their defences. These characters were created as "front line" characters to protect weaker players in a party. "Back line" characters like a wizard or a ranger would fire off their attacks at a safe distance, while avoiding damage. Since RS doesn't have a party system, a suitable "tank" should still have incredibly high HP and defence stats, coupled by suitable armor. The magic and range skills don't drastically affect your combat level, so levelling either one or both is also a good idea. Your character would be rather useless if all you can do is absorb damage and not be able to deal any back.

Contact! quest
As soon as you make it into the tunnels that lead to the Giant Scarab's chamber, run to the furthest upper-left corner of the room. There's a stalagtite that you can hide behind. The stalagtite is right up agains the northern wall of the chamber and behind you will be the cliff. This position is very safe and you won't be flanked. Hopefully, the Giant Scarab would have to move into position to use its range attacks on you. It'll be blocked by the stalagtite and there won't be enough room for its minions to get to you. So, all you need to use is the Protect Range prayer, 1 super anti-poison, some food, and your best magic attack. You should also bring with you an emergency 1-click teleport like the Ectophial.

Recipe for disaster help
Yes, you must finish Hero's Quest before you can start Legend's Quest. Having lvl-43 prayer for the Protection prayers is highly recommended. I'm guessing you're asking these questions because you're a pure? Accessing the Black Dragon lair in RFD happens about 3/4 of the way through the Sir Amik Vaze subquest. You can try accesing the Black Dragon Lair by using a raw chicken on the Evil Chicken shrine.

Why is Full Guthix significantly cheaper?
Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix armor all has the same stats as Rune armor. Personally, I'd rather spend the money you would spend on the so-called "God Armor" on a skill instead. It just isn't money well spent, even if you have several hundred-million GP to flush down the nearest toilet. Trimmed armor, big whoop.

Monkfish - Worth the effort?
Monkfish is a suitable Fishing and Cooking training method that allows you to train both skills at almost the same pace. The area also has a high quest requirement to enter, so you don't need to deal with autoers/macroers over fishing the place and making the fishing spots jump around more. Plus, it's a nice, quiet spot where you don't have to listen to immature players polluting the place with message spam.

~ Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~
Looks like my laptop's RAM hasn't fried but I need to replace a failing graphics card! *Sigh* Unfortunately the warantee on my laptop expired last year so it'll be expensive to get it replaced.   Time to call up the computer store down the street to see if they can help me with it.

Summoning, what spells will it entail?
I think it would be more in the game's storyline if we allow the player to create golems like the one from The Golem quest. This would have to be introduced through a quest, much like how the Ancient and Lunar spell books were introduced. If we have Animation, different materials can be made into golems. Clay, wood, different metal ores, and we would also gain exp in the skill that relates to the material being used. Clay gives Crafting exp, wood gives woodcutting exp, metal ores give smithing exp, etc.

Zaid's blog! PLEASE LOCK! Bye All <3333333
Hey Zaid, I've been having a little computer problems recently so I can't runecraft at the moment (I'm posting from the Office). When I get myself back up to speed, I'll continue and hopefully we'll reach our lvl-99 goals at the same time. 8-) Regards, Celestrana

Data is saved but my laptop is *still* dying! Gotta hop onto the desktop to download a disassembly manual so I can clear out dust or something. Maybe my RAM has fried from overheating. If that's the case, looks like I'll have to buy some new chips or switch to training slayer for a while.

Are these people "autoers"
Unfortunately, this isn't a consistent way of determining if a player is an autoer or not. This can indicate that the person has a very poor internet connection and thus are taking their time. We shouldn't be jumping at shadows and reporting everybody who appears to be autoers. Many players could be reading something on a fan site forum while they runecraft and may not notice people trying to get their attention. This has happened to me on more than one occassion and somebody was following me, asking me for help while I ignored them for a few minutes. When I finally notice them, I apologize for not responding and explain myself, then answer whatever questions they have. I tend to avoid the heavily populated and known autoer locations while I'm training so that I'm not accidentally reported as an autoer when I don't talk or anything. It's better to play it safe than bump into an overly vigilant abuse reporter.

any suggestion to avoid being scammed/lured?
Simply avoid the wilderness when people ask you to bring expensive items, even if it is a Dragon battleaxe. Plus, you were asked to bring *noted* Dragon battleaxes with you to make a video. Why would you even need that at all? :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: Use your common sense and never go into the wilderness unless you are going into it yourself to do your own thing.

How many yews i can cut and bank?
Are you a patient player? You'll be barely able to cut 5 to 8 logs before the yew tree you're cutting at disappears when the other players are cutting it. I don't want to discourage you from trying since the only way to find out your cutting rate is by trying it yourself. You may want to try going on World 2 or World 18. Everybody on World 2 will be no-lifing in Falador or whatever, so you'll have most if not all the yew trees to yourself. World 18 is a known player-killer world so most people will be in Edgeville or in the Wilderness, so again you'll have all the yew trees to yourself. You may want to find an isolated yew tree that's a bit further from a bank. If you've completed the quest Swan Song, then there are some yew trees east of Eagle's Peak, next to the river. Hope some of that advice helps.

Grr! My laptop is dying and it looks like I won't be doing some runecrafting for a while. I'll need to get a new hard drive and a IDESATA to USB cable to save my data.

How will the new prayers affect pking?
Has anybody passed the Knight Waves mini-game and tried out the prayers? I'm curious to know if the two new prayers display its prayer icon like Smite or Retribution.

Is Jagex supporting auto buyers?!
Unfortunately, the problem doesn't seem to be as clear cut as you stated or else TB@JT would have done that by now, if not much much earlier like back in RSC. Your suggestion would inadvertently ban a lot of innocent and honest skillers that may happen to have trained only those resource gathering skills and may have also spent all their money buying green dragon hides and dragon bones to train their crafting and prayer. Indeed it isn't rocket science, but rocket science is another ball of proverbial wax.

Is Jagex supporting auto buyers?!
Here's a very general idea as to why we still have autoer/macroer problems: 1. People buy gp from illegal real-world trading gold-farmer websites with real money. 2. People use their illegally optained gp to buy raw materials from autoer/macroer ringleaders, which the gp goes back to the gold-farmers. 3. Raw materials are made into various end products. 4. End products are usually High Alched back into gp. 5. Steps #1 and/or #2 happen again, thus perpetuating the problem. Now, the real money that the ringleaders receive through their illegal real-world trading websites are used to pay the people running the autoers/macroers and to also pay for whatever maintence fees to keep their operation running. The gp that people use at #2 ironically goes back to the same people that are destroying the spirit of the game. The only way to "save" the game is not Jagex coming up with a better mouse trap, but instead people must stop buying gp from gold-farmers. Once people realize this, the autoers will have no reason to continue.

skill capes?
A Skill Cape is still a Skill Cape, even if it is the Quest Cape. With over 100 quests, it can take you nearly a year of game play to train the skills that are needed to do the quests, especially if you plan on doing everything with little to no help. This means none of that "pure" business and that you have to have decently high skills to finish all the quests. Once you manage to get the Quest Cape, it becomes a matter of maintaining it. You don't know what requirements are needed for new quests so you have to train almost all your skills equally so that you can finish the new quest on the first day it's out and wear that Quest Cape as soon as you finish the quest.

If i were to get members for 1 month to train(pure)...
Agreed. To jevanrai: If all you want is to train your stats, why couldn't you just do it on the free worlds if you have no intention of doing some of the member stuff? You might as well take advantage of Fletching and stock up on a huge supply of arrows. If you really just want to train your combat stats, just go play Pest Control for the entire month or until you're sick from boredom, whichever comes first. Even after Pest Control was balanced, I think you should still be able to level up decently quick.

help needed urgent
Pest Control == boring!!!! Slayer assignments == entertaining!!! (and you can get some decent item drops if you're lucky) Why are you obsessed with training your combat skills up quickly? Are you one of those poor little kids who has signed up for 1 month of members solely for Pest Control so that you'll become a PKing machine back on F2P?

Help on Desert Treasures quest.
You need to start the quest Death Plateau to "unlock" the [bleep]ed boots. The Burthrope smith makes a pair of [bleep]ed boots for you during the quest. This is done by talking to the Sherpa, which you buy a pair of climbing boots from him for 20gp (or 25gp :-k ) and having an iron bar with you. The smith takes the climbing boots and the iron bar from you and gives you a pair of [bleep]ed boots. Hope this helps.

Breaking Rule 7 my account been disabled help!
I seriously hope your account was not P2P or else that really stinks. It's too bad idiotic noobs ruin other peoples fun by sending in stupid reports such as what happened to you. That's one of the reasons why I got out of F2P when I had the chance and I usually train far, far away from all the "newbie" towns and places that I know are packed full with macroers.

need a cool username for my new main
Use a portmanteau as your name. If you don't know what's a portmanteau, it is a word that has the combined meaning of two words. I hope you get some ideas from this!

infinity robes
I have used the Tip.it's AoW MTA guide to calculate the necessary amount of runes to get a full Infinity set: Laws -- 5K Natures -- 7K Cosmics -- 11K Laws are used at the Telekinetic Theater, Natures at the Alchemists Playground and the Graveyard, and the Cosmics at the Enchantment game while using Diamond enchant and enchanting only shapes and occassionally dragonstones. A full Infinity set can sell up to 14M gp. The typical player-market price of Laws, Natures and Cosmics are 300gp each, 300gp each and 100gp each, respectively. So that gives us: (5K + 7K) * 300gp + 11K * 100gp = 3.6M + 1.1M = 4.7M gp spent buying runes from players. If you're willing to spend time to runecraft all these runes, then you'll need around 1.8M gp on pure essence, assuming you buy pure essence at 100gp each. Laws -- 5K pure essence Natures -- 7K pure essence, assuming you can't double-craft Cosmics -- 6K pure essence, assuming you can double-craft This gives you 18K pure essence which is 1.8M gp. If you go to my blog, you can see that I'm getting a full Infinity set the conventional way.
