  1. Wow, that's a good price! Then again, I'm only starting to catch Red Chinchompas and I don't even know their price before the Grand Exchange was released. Plus, I'm planning on keeping all my Red Chinchompas for Range and Slayer training. I need a more consistent source of range ammo instead of relying on Cyclopes dropping black throwing knives.
  2. :o I thougth when you craft the nats, then you use the portal to leave the altar, you go back to inside the abyss, and you just run back to edge... #-o (Yeh.. ive never really been in the wildy before... so i don't really know these things.) Unfortunately not, you'll exit into the Karamja jungles. When you enter the Abyss, you can only get back to Edgeville by using a Glory or using the Edgeville teleport spell in the Ancient spellbook. Click on my blog link and you can see an alternative route for Nature running and it's only 2 or 3 seconds longer than the Abyss route.
  3. I'm sure some hardcore W2-ers are still clogging up the Varrock and/or Falador streets, hawking the wares in the hopes somebody will buy from them and looking for "deals". I personally hate wasting precious skilling time so I prefer to do all my transactions on the Grand Exchange, now that it's released.
  4. I'd runecraft Nats and sell them at the Grand Exchange, now that buying essence is quick and painless.
  5. Honestly, ZMI is your best bet for speed to 75, plus you will still make a nice lump of cash from the runes you get. At 75 if you want pure cash, then do cosmics. Its been calculated to earn you a little over 600k per hour :-$ Personally I haven't had much luck selling off my 12K Cosmic runes on the Grand Exchange but I had no problem selling off 4K Law runes. As mentioned before, you can runecraft Nature runes using the Fairy Rings; there's the somewhat long and painful way and the quick and almost as fast as the Abyss way. Long and painful: - Start at Zanaris bank (Lost City, Fairy City/Dimension) - Load up on essence, using all available pouches - Run to Fairy Rings and code in C-K-R. - Run through Jungle to Nature altar - Runecraft all essence, including pouches - Exit Nature altar - Run to Fairy Rings - Run to Zanaris bank - Repeat Almost as Fast as the Abyss Way: - Start at Edgeville bank - Load up on essence, using all available pouches - Run north over bridge and south to Fairy Rings - Use Zanaris Fairy Rings and code in C-K-R - Run through Jungle to Nature altar - Runecraft all essence, including pouches - Glory teleport to Edgeville - Repeat
  6. I vote for runecraft  I use many of my skills to support runecrafting: Agility to recharge run energy faster, Hunting to get Spottier cape (using Spotted cape atm), Quests (semi-skill) to get Boots of Lightness from Temple of Ivok (or Ikov, can't remember) and I might try Barbarian Assault to get the Penance gloves.
  7. An alternative to anti-poison is to use the Saradomin Prayer book that you get from the quest "The Great Brain Robbery". For one inventory spot, it can take the place of many anti-poison potions and all you need is you prayer points to use it. One disadvantage is that the Prayer book doesn't have the time effect, so you'll have to use it once every time you're poisoned. There are indeed plenty of rabbits that you can kill and cook to replenish your health. If you have the inventory space, bring a iron spit to cook your rabbit because it'll increase the cooked rabbit's effectiveness.
  8. Depending on what I'm slaying, I usually bring runes for Bones to Peaches since I can't afford Guthans. Even if I could afford Guthans, I wouldn't bring it with me in case of accidental deaths, unless I had a spare set. My slayer essentials are runes (or tablets when I can make them) for Bones to Peaches, fire staff/battlestaff and Natures for High Alching items that aren't worth keeping and some teleport jewelry or tablet to bank items I want to keep.
  9. This week I've decided to work on my Hunting and train it up to lvl-69 so that I can catch Dashing Kebbits and make myself a Spottier cape. As you can see, I'm constant supplementing my runecrafting with my other skills, so next I'll probably train Agility up a level or two at the Brimhaven Agility course. Short term goals: 1. Lvl-69 Hunting for Dashing Kebbits and Spottier capes. I always make extras of everything for accidental deaths and bank placeholders. 2. One full Agility level at Brimhaven course, hopefully this will help me rack up plenty of tickets.
  10. Unfortunately, all food stuffs is burnable. I suggest you catch at least 5 snakes and stuff them with the other ingredients and go back and grab another 5 to make a total of 10 stuffed snakes. Then you should use a Chef's Delight to boost your Cooking level to help increase your success rate. If you managed to cook one, go ahead and cook the others since they actually make very decent healing items. It's unfortunate that we can't make more after completing the sub-quest. :(
  11. The Grand Exchange is mainly for convenience. I'm not a merchant and I'm quite happy with using GE to sell off my Law runes that I make. For every 1K Law runes that I sell, I usually get around 300K gp +/- 2K gp. I then take this money and can quickly replenish my stock of pure essence, usually using the full amount and getting 3K pure essence and some gp change. I know I just stated one of the many obvious uses for the Grand Exchange but I simply love it for the quick and painless selling and buying of materials.
  12. Tibia was made using the graphics from Ultima 7, which is an amazing game for its time and it's probably way before the time of you many youngsters. Long live the Avatar. Anyways, back to the point. You can explain to your parents that RuneScape is free (assuming you're a F2P player) and the low caliber graphics gives you good, inexpensive and harmless fun after school and after you've finished your homework. You can also bring up the point that you don't have to have an expensive console like the XBox 360 or the Wii and buy expensive games nor do you need a "super gamer computer" that's several thousand dollars to play the latest game. Obviously there are more good points you can bring up and explain to your parents that playing RuneScape is at least keeping you away from drugs or joining gangs or whatnot.
  13. Well folks, I've decided to make an important change to my Nature runecrafting routine and invest in some Glory amulets, but I am not using the Abyss and instead I'm using a method that's slightly slower than the Abyss and extremely safe. Here's what I did today. I visited the Grand Exchange and took out 2K Law runes from my bank and sold it all for around 600K gp. Then, taking another 100K gp from my bank, I bought 14 Glory Amulets and went to the Hero's Guild to get them recharged and went to Edgeville. So, here's my new Nature runecrafting route, and I've tested it and found that it was 2 or 3 seconds slower than using the Abyss. 1. Starting at Edgeville, load up on essence from your bank and fill up pouches. So far I can only use up to the Large pouch. 2. Run north to the bridge, cross it and then south to the Fairy Ring. 3. Use the Fairy Ring code C-K-R (clicks: 2-2-2) and teleport to the Karamja Jungles. 4. Run through the Jungle and to the Nature Altar. 5. Make your Nature runes and Glory back to Edgeville. 6. Repeat #1 to #5. Guys, go ahead and try it out!
  14. There's also the Mage Training Arena that's north of the Duel Arena.
  15. Walk south from Edgeville to the Barbarian Village. Walk west from Barbarian Village to southern side of Ice Mountain. Go down stairs at southern side of Ice Mountain. Walk west and follow path northward until you reach Taverly gates. Walk west, going through Taverly gates. Walk south-westward to White Wolf Mountain. Traverse the White Wolf Mountain path and arrive at the Catherby beaches. Walk west through Catherby and follow north-westward path to arrive at Camelot Castle. Walk slightly to the west to arrive at Seer's Village bank. * - substitute walking with running, if required to expedite journey
  16. What quests do you still have to do? Even if you have all those skills trained to their required levels, there are several quests that require a keen combat sense and clever use of your skills and items.
  17. Just take the defense exp. It's not going to kill you to have a few defense levels since you're going to be training your combat skills unevenly anyways. A few defense levels will not drastically affect your character level since the majority of it will be calculated by your Strength or Attack stat.
  18. Plainly and simply: NO MORE BOTS!
  19. Agreed. Even though we're not here to nitpick at another person's grammar/language skills, the original post's author has managed to give me a mild headache as I desperately tried to decode the post entry. I digress. Having GP is highly subjective and it's really dependent on the player's in-game goals. Personally, I just want to have a good time, leisurely work on my skills and not worry about the amount of GP in my bank. Is it really such a big deal that I rarely have more than 1M GP in my bank, even after you've looked at my skill levels? To some people this is an absolutely soul shaking shocker and they'll think, "Holy cow! Celestrana is such a noob for not having a mil in her bank!" One of the reasons why there are so many problems in the world -- and when I say world, I *am* referring to real and in-game -- is that the majority of the planet is too obsessed with money and become very short-sighted to the things that really matter, like will our children have clean air to breathe, fresh water to drink and all those other life necessities. I can also say the same to RuneScape. Sure, you're a very low leveled player and you've just joined members and you're obsessing over the coveted Abyssal Whip. So, you jump onto the forums and scour the posts and player-made guides in the hopes of finding a super get rich quick scheme to change your measly 10K GP to a whopping 2M GP so that you can buy yourself a whip and some cool armor to go with it. You eventually come across a suggestion to pick flax in Seer's Village for a week and manage to sell it for something close to 2M GP. Whoop-di-do! But what if you accidentally lose it on a foolish trip into the Wilderness or you lose it in a hard boss battle? You'll yell/scream/cry in front of your computer for a few minutes and realize you've lost a week of membership in a few minutes. But, there's a remedy to a situation like this. Instead of obsessing over items and ample amounts of GP, work on your skills. There are lots of skills that can help generate a decent amount of GP, especially if you have some foresight to plan out a small system that works for you. Skills last forever while GP and items do not. Do you want a whip? Work on your slayer. Do you want a dragon scimitar? Train your combat skills and do some quests. Do you want to be a pirate? Become Guybrush Threepwood... OK, wrong game but I'm finally getting to the point where I'm trying to say is that we shouldn't worry about getting the latest and coolest item or having ample amounts of GP but work on your skills and become a top notch player that can go out and get and/or make whatever your heart desires.
  20. The Grand Exchange is there but you don't have to use it if you prefer to "penetrate" into World 2 and spend several hours typing the same thing over a million times in the hopes of attracting somebody's attention so that you can sell off your wares.
  21. Make your own runes instead of buying them. 300K gp can go a long way.
  22. Talk to the Grand Exchange Tutor or the guy with the megaphone and you'll get a demo on how to use the Grand Exchange. Another idea is to go to the Official Site and read the Knowledge Base article.
  23. Thanks for the encouragement! Speaking of Runecrafting, I've tried out the Grand Exchange and it is absolutely amazing! I sold 5K of Law runes at the market price and made over 1.2M gp. Being an avid runecrafter, I quickly reinvested and stockpiled on huge quantities of rune and pure essence. The reason why I bought rune essence is because I'm currently on the free worlds and I still occasionally make basic runes. Here's a few thoughts after going on the Grand Exchange: - Currently, rune essence is 25gp each - All basic elemental runes sell for 12gp each - Since my runecrafting is lvl-65, I can multi-craft 6 Air runes per rune essence - For each rune essence I buy, I can squeeze out a maximum profit of 47gp
  24. This is a very difficult situation since you're dealing with a real-life friend. Normally, when dealing with annoying people or people who have pissed you off on RS, you can simply put them on your ignore list. How close is this real-life friend of yours? Have you two been friends since you were very little? Unfortunately, the people closest to you can become your worst enemy since they know all your secrets and when given the opportunity, can betray you in a heart beat. Here's my advice: Don't let a game get between your friendship.
  25. It'll help everyone if we can see your stats so that we can give advice according to what you can do. Typically for a character with low leveled "manufacturing" skills, they would make money by training their "resource gathering" skills and selling resources in bulk. For example, selling 1K willow logs at 10gp/log will get you 10K gp. There are plenty of player-made guides that you can read and get money making information. I suggest the following guide: Wurm's Moneymaking Booklet Wurmskin's guide was last edited on October 2006 but this shouldn't affect the general process you should take to make money. If you plan on merchanting, be *very very very* patient or else you'll lose your mind.
