Choice between hit-points or no hit-points?
In that case, High Alch your highest craftable item that you'll be certain that you won't lose money. Commonly alched items include yew long bows, green or blue dragonhide bodies, iron platebodies and air battlestaffs.

monkey madness
I also suggest bringing a friend that's completed the quest as a "supply mule". Have them carry extra food, extra anti-poisons and maybe some prayer pots as well.

wat is better??
You should also consider your budget. Is the slight stat improvement worth the GP? Personally, the rune plate has more than served me well and I was able to complete all the quests with it. The stat improvement of the granite plate over the rune plate is small but not extremely significant to make it a worthwhile purchase. I suggest getting a helmet such as a Berserker helm or the Helm of Neitiznot instead and maybe one of the higher level gloves from the Recipe for Disaster chest.

Choice between hit-points or no hit-points?
Whoa! For a moment there I thought you meant you're trying to decide if you're going to no-life a skill to lvl-99! Now assuming you're a member, I suggest training at the Mage Training Arena since you can get all the magic exp you want and not worry about your hitpoints. If you can double-Cosmics, I suggest that you go the the Mage Training Arena -- that's the one north of the Duel Arena, not the one in the Wilderness -- and play the Enchantment arena. If you're not too worried about the MTA pizzaz points that will allow you to get the Infinity set, then just fill up on Enchantment shapes and enchant away! You'll be gaining levels very quickly here if you stick at it.

3k trade
I don't need the whip and fury rite now as ill be f2p for a month so they'll just be lying in my bank Then the point of this thread was what exactly? Don't mean to sound harsh but what exactly did you accomplish by asking this question if you didn't want to buy/use them now and are going to become F2P when the 3k update takes effect? [/hide] im going to be f2p for like 2 weeks...then member again Now don't you feel silly that you've sold your Fury and Whip? Since you'll be going to be F2P for 2 weeks, you'll have to buy them again to use them. #-o It would've been just easier to organize your bank for the temporary switch to F2P.

~ Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~
Hey all, Just a quick update before I hit the sack! For the last few days I've been hunkered down at the Mage Training Arena, burning through my supply of Law runes. So far I've used up nearly 2K Law runes and have 1004 Telekinetic Pizzaz points, which looks like I just need a few more hours to get my required total of 1500. When I'm done at the Telekinetic Theater, I might sell off 1K of my Law runes to get some quick cash, since I've been recently buying seeds and other necessities. In between all this, I've been busy planting herb seeds at My Arm's disease-free herb patch on top of Trollheim mountain and replanting my Cactus patch whenever I am able. So far I've managed to farm a sizable stock of herbs that I can use to gain one or two herblore levels; I just need to grow or gather the seconds. After my long stint at the Mage Training Arena and finally buying my Infinity Set, I predict that I will have around lvl-80 Magic when I'm done. Anyways, I'm off to bed. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year everyone! Cele

Spiritual Rangers
Sounds like you weren't prepared to enter the God Wars Dungeon. I suggest you read Tip.it's GWD guide and go to the bottom of the guide to see a list of protective equipment. Personally, I use items that are cheap/free and easily replaced such as Zamorak God Cape, Armadyl pendant and Saradomin Holy Book.

99 skill Vs Boredom
Here's a way to fight boredom especially when you're training any skill that allows you to look away from the screen: read. Right now I'm training at the Mage Training Arena, attempting to get an Infinity Set the arduous way. So, while I'm in the Telekinetic Theater, I have my copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opened up in front of me and I read. It keeps me from going insane from boredom, I'm getting pizzaz points and I'm moving through my book very quickly. I've also done the same thing while fishing for Monkfish. I kept the game sound effects on to alert me to changes and I was reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The other monkfishers thought I was AFK most of the time but whenever somebody says something about me, I was able to notice it and send back some sort of response. :)

Hunter 67-75*unanswered*
ok..but i am only averaging between 100-150/hour fully focused huh? empty response..uh oh thats not good  Make sure you're training with at least 3 other Hunters while you're catching Red Chinchompas. It's a very common misconception that more hunters around will decrease your catch rate but it actually increases the frequency of Red Chins respawning, thus allowing you to catch more. I've personally tested this out with 3 other Hunters and the four of us agree that more hunters means faster Chins. So what if you're averaging 100 to 150 per hour? Everybody has to start somewhere since nobody starts as a Master. Take my advice and hunt Chins in a group, it'll pay off!

Spiritual Rangers
It's an easy assignment as I received a Spiritual Ranger task very recently. A word of advice tho: you'll need god-gear of at least 3 gods to protect you while in the God War Dungeon and you'll need a good supply of prayer potions. The Spiritual Rangers can hit rather hard so make sure you're well equipped to fight them. I was using Range prayer while I was going through my assignment and I think I might have used close to 20 4-dose prayer pots.

Wow!
There's an easy solution to this problem: get a job. Even flipping burgers will allow you to pay for your Runescape subscription. Then this unnecessary flaming that the people are throwing at you will naturally stop since you won't have the need to ask the age old question of why Jagex won't give free players more updates. Another solution is to ask your parents to get you a year's subscription instead of the latest gadget like an iPod. Or if your parents give you a weekly/monthly allowance for doing chores around the house, tell them that you want to put your allowance towards your monthly subscription. There are loads of things that you can probably find that can help you pay for your subscription, just don't cheat and steal for it.

zezmia will be ranked number 2...
We need a Forum Mod to lock this thread. The flaming is getting out of hand and I think Battleboy doesn't deserve all this negativity. Folks, it's a game. To Battleboy: Give yourself one 99 skill to work towards first, then work on another. Remember, this is a game and life outside of it is far more important.

Becoming a member soon, a little help?
Since you're joining members, how about doing quests? There are over 100 quests in the game and I think you'll be selling yourself short by not completing them. Many of the quests unlock very important and/or special areas that allow you to train certain skills more efficiently and give you a nice quiet place to train. Some of these quests include, "Priest in Peril", "Shades of Mort'ton", "Fairy Tales part 1", "Mourning's End part 1", "The Grand Tree", "Shilo Village Quest", "Hero's Quest" and "Legend's Quest". Many of the quests that I've suggested unlocks some vital member features, which many players have ignored and are unaware of the benefits. Of course, these quests have many requirements, both in various skill levels and previous quests, which are too many to list here.

~ Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~
Hey all, just another update here. I've finally managed to buy pure essence from the Grand Exchange yesterday for 117gp each. This is higher than I'd like to buy pure essence at since I've managed to buy it at 88gp when the Grand Exchange was released. I'm still kicking my own behind for not super stockpiling pure essence when it was still dirt cheap. Recently I've been training Slayer and getting my three melee combat skills up as well. My current Slayer task are Spiritual Rangers in the GWD. I'm almost finished with that task but I'm burning through so many prayer potions. :( So, it looks like I'll need to start training Farming and Herblore to replenish my supply of potions.

Where i need to train
Are your F2P or P2P? If you're P2P, then train your combat skills with Slayer all the way. You'll be training Slayer anyways so why bother wasting time training combat at Pest Control? Pest Control is psychological suicide since you'll be bored mindless of the monotony very quickly. If you're F2P, then you can kill the Flesh Crawlers in the Stronghold of Security.

3 - 3.5m to spend on a non combat skill ?
Herblore has won the popular vote. 3M gp can get you a decent herblore level since you can quickly buy huge quantities of raw materials to make tons of potions. The potions at the higher levels are very popular and can be quickly sold to help you continue training herblore.

Best way to train Hitpoints??
Slayer. You're going to be training it anyways so why waste your time doing something that doesn't train slayer, right? Right!?!?!?!?!? So, train Slayer. Do it!!!

Cat Medal
You cannot use a wily cat to get the Cat medal and you *must* train your new cat/kitten to catch 100 rats in order for you to get the Cat medal again. I know it's disappointing but I'm telling you this because it's from my own experience. :|

how do i..
For F2P, iron is the quickest mining exp since it spawns almost instantly on a busy world. I suggest mining at the Al Kharid Scorpion pit. Since iron ore has a 50% smelting success rate, it may be better to sell the iron ore on Grand Exchange and hopefully buy almost the same amount of iron bars back so that you can train smithing as well. If you plan on signing up for members one day, then I suggest you keep the iron ores.

Jungle horrors task
Jungle Horrors are a very quick and easy task and you *don't* have to go running around the island. I suggest running east along the city wall until you reach a horseshoe-shaped lake and start killing Jungle Horrors around it. I always do Jungle Horrors since they're easy to kill and you can Bones-to-Peaches their bones for food, saving you bank trips.

Red chins... Still overly busy?
This is a very common misconception many Hunters have about catching Red Chinchompas in that they have to wait around for hours until they have the spawn point all to themselves. In fact, and I've confirmed this myself, that Red Chinchompas spawn faster when you're hunting in a group of 3 to 4 players. If you arrange your box traps in a '+' formation for 4 traps or an 'X' formation for 5 traps, you'll be clicking nearly constantly as the swarms of Red Chinchompas hop around the field. I suggest the '+' and 'X' formations because you can fit 3 to 4 players very tightly around the spawn points. Trust me, if you do this you'll be so busy resetting and catching Red Chinchompas that you won't have time to talk to your fellow Hunters.

Okay, so i'm about to get
If you look at all the above suggestions, they're all basically suggesting the same thing: use High Alchemy on mid-high to high level items that you made using another skill. The most typical skills that people use that produces items in which you can use High Alchemy is crafting, smithing, and fletching. To prevent huge GP losses, always make an effort to produce some of the items you'll need yourself like the Nature runes or the actual items that you'll be using High Alchemy on. Crafting-> Dragonhide bodies; personally I prefer blue over green since blue dragons are in non-Wild areas such as beneath the Hero's Guild, Taverly dungeon, and the Ogre Enclave. You can also buy the dragonhides but this might prove to be too expensive to be practical. Smithing-> Iron platebodies; here you can help train your mining or just go and buy huge amounts of iron bars from the Grand Exchange. Fletching-> Yew longbows; I suggest chopping your own yew logs and buying the bow string to save yourself time when fletching a complete yew longbow.

Making 600k at Mid-lvl combat... How?
If you've completed the quest "Watchtower", then I suggest you kill Blue Dragons in the Ogre Enclave. There are very few players there since Watchtower is considered a Hard quest, and there are plenty of safe-spots to range the Blue Dragons safely. Recently I've been training my Slayer and was given a few Blue Dragon tasks. Even though my Range is lvl-72 at the time, I was still using Blue Dragon Hide instead of Black Dragon Hide -- I'll get Black Dragon Hide armor when I can make it myself. Anyways, if you care to try, here's my Range setup: - Blue d'hide body and chaps - Iron bolts (started with 10K) - Rune crossbow - Helm of Neitiznot - Anti-dragonfire Shield - Ava's Attractor - Boots of Lightness - Mithril Grapple, for getting over Yanille's south wall - Runes for Watchtower teleport (2 Laws, 2 Earths) - Combat bracelet, or Barrow Gloves - Ring of Wealth Depending on what you want to do, you may want to switch in different equipment. For example, get about 100 Nature runes, switch out the Earth runes and switch in a Lava battlestaff so that you can teleport out and use the High Alchemy spell. Even with the Ring of Wealth, you'll be lucky to get lots of Addy full helm drops to High Alchemy. Instead, you'll most likely be filling up on Blue dragonhides and banking them in Yanille. Personally, I didn't bother banking the dragon bones and buried them instead. Burying the bones gave me the random chance that Leo the Graveyard Keeper would visit me, giving me a chance to deposit my dragonhides and saving me a trip to and from Yanille. Oh, you'll also need plenty of Nightshade, either picked from the Skavid caves or grown at Draynor's Nightshade farming patch.

Magic spellbook for slayer?
Just stick with the Modern (Normal) spellbook. You might think to use Lunar since you can use "Contact NPC" to get new tasks or to Burthrope tasks but it's actually faster to just use a Games Necklace to do that. Ancient spellbook has many devastating spells but their rune cost is very high and it wouldn't be economical to use against 100+ monsters during a task. Modern spellbook has the Slayer Dart spell, High Alchemy and Bones to Peaches/Banana. Slayer Dart to, well, slay. High Alchemy to free up your inventory for good, high-leveled drops. Bones to Peaches for certain tasks to get easy food.

~ Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~
I'm shocked with disbelief in that I cannot readily buy huge amounts of pure essence from the Grand Exchange due to lack of stock! It looks like I might not be able to train runecrafting as quickly as I had hoped although I still have 9K pure essence and 5K rune essence in my bank. I suppose I can replenish my stock of basic runes and Law runes, then go to the Mage Training Arena to use them all. Speaking of the Mage Training Arena, I've recently purchased a Mud Battlestaff so that I can use Bones to Banana and Bones to Peaches in the Graveyard Arena. This means I'll have to further increase my stock of Nature runes, after I do some quick number crunching to determine how much I'll need. Since I'm having trouble buying pure essence, and I'm sick of mining it, I've decided to train Slayer. So far I've been assigned at least two Blue Dragon tasks. With some persistence and smart Slayer training, I'll get to Gargoyles so that I can resupply myself with their pure essence drops.
