  1. I suppose there is a "hidden" bonus because the Fremennik shield somehow provides better protection over the Ice Troll's range attacks. Experiment a little and find out what works best for you.
  2. The difficulty of actually runecrafting Blood runes will not change since you'll be able to access the altar through the Abyss portals. The difficulty would be finishing any required quests to unlock the ability to runecraft Blood runes and thus unlocking the Abyss portal. The same goes for Soul runes. Law: unlocked through Death Plateau/Troll Stronghold (can't remember which quest :-k ) Death: unlocked through MEP2; huge shopping list to get a Death Talisman Blood: to be announced; probably a future Myreque quest (?) Soul: also to be announced; difficult to speculate for this one, a quest related to Necrovarus's homeland across the Eastern Ocean?
  3. NOTE: I know it's a long post but I just wanted to be very thorough. My tactics work since I was lvl-85 when I finished Dream Mentor. If I can do it, so can you! To kill the Inadequacy and his merry band, you'll need to first properly equip yourself. You'll need enough supplies to get through all four battles in one shot! Leaving the Dream plane at any time resets the battles and you'll have to fight them all over again. A word of caution though, if you are down to your last piece of food, run! It's better to retreat and live to fight another day. Anyways, let's have a brief summary of the four monsters you'll have to get through. The first fight is with the Inadequacy, which is a formidable opponent and you'll have to get into melee range to attack him or else he'll throw some devastating spells at you. The second battle is with Untouchable, which has high defense but only uses melee attacks. The third battle is with the Everlasting and also uses melee attacks and can be defeated with the same strategy as the Untouchable. Finally, the Illusive is well, illusive and shouldn't pose any problem. Now, I recommend the following equipment setup: - magic defense armor; ex. dragon hide body and chaps - gloves; ex. barrow gloves - primary one-hand melee weapon; ex. dragon longsword - secondary one-hand melee weapon with poison; ex. dragon dagger (p++) - one-hand range weapon; ex. mithril knives, mithril crossbow and mithril bolts - shield/defender that provides magical defence; ex. Saradomin God Book or rune defender - boots; ex. climbing boots - amulet; ex. Glory, Power - helmet; ex. Helm of Neitiznot Recommended inventory - 1 4-dose Super set; Super Attack, Super Strength, Super Defense - Tinderbox - Waking-Sleep potion - Seal of Passage - all the Tuna Potatoes you can carry!!! Preparing for battle: - Bank everything except for the Seal of Passage, Tinderbox and Waking-Sleep potion - speak to Cyrisus and he'll take the Waking-Sleep potion from you and you'll light the Tinderbox - you enter the Dream plane now immediately run north to the Lecturn, right-click on to leave - suit up, have bank your Seal of Passage and substitute in another Tuna Potato in its place but now you won't be able to talk to an Lunar citizens (but that's not too important) - pot up on your Super Set, light the brazier and enter the fight! The Inadequacy: - run up to the Inadequacy and let off all of your DDP specials on it - once your Special bar is drained, switch to your primary melee weapon and keep attacking - ignore the Doubts and remember to eat when your health drops down by 18 points - if you're lucky, you'll make it through this fight alive and have 8 to 10 Tuna Potatoes left The Untouchable: - run towards the Lectern and stand on either side of it - switch to your range weapon and start attacking the Untouchable - depending on your range level, this might take a while since the Untouchable is high defense and hitpoints The Everlasting: - stay at the Lecturn and just keep firing your range weapon at it The Illusive: - this one burrows into the ground and pops up at random locations - switch to your DDP and use the Special attack immediately - when your Special bar text is red, that means the next attack will fire off the Special attack immediately, which is what you want - chase the Illusive around and keep attacking it with the DDP special - the Illusive rarely, if ever attacks back so this battle is easy That's it! Good luck.
  4. Well looks like I spent another weekend making runes, this time runecrafting Cosmics. I reassessed the amount of runes I needed to make, after finding out that Full Infinity excluded the Mage Book! Thank Guthix for that! So, instead of making 6K Laws, 9.3K Natures and 15.5K Cosmics, the reassessed quantity comes up to 4.5K Laws, 7K Natures and 11K Cosmics. That's still a really significant quantity of runes but drastically reduced the amount of pure essence from 23K to 17K. So, I've made more than enough Law runes, which I currently total at 6K and I've managed to make 8K Cosmics but I haven't started on the Natures. About the "Gallery": Since I'm only runecrafting at the moment, I don't really see the point of me posting pictures of me running to and from the Castle Wars bank to make Laws and the Zanaris bank to make Natures and Cosmics. When I train slayer and I happen across a rare piece of loot, I might take a snapshot and upload it.
  5. Traditionally, "tank" characters were those that can withstand a huge amount of attacks while not taking much damage themselves. Any tank character would have an incredibly high defense against all types of attacks -- melee, magic and range -- and have a high hitpoint count to last a long time under constant bombardment.
  6. Come on man! Train like you've never trained before!!! (psst.. trade me p ess for runes.. info on my blog)
  7. Use Magic to fight Treus Dayth. Protection Prayers will not work against his attacks. Just bring a huge amount of food with you and a Ring of Life to pull you out if it gets bad or another 1-click teleport. I recommend using swordfish or better and your best spell that you can use/afford. I used Fire Bolt combined with Chaos Gauntlets to boost Bolt spells to Blast spell effectiveness.
  8. Don't share accounts even if it isn't your account that's being shared. If your friend's account somehow gets banned/hacked/etc, he'll blame you, even though you may not have anything to do with it and ruin your friendship. Plus, your friend is just asking for trouble. And why should you waste your time training his character when you can train yours? If you think about it, he's just taking advantage of your friendship. Being friends is one thing, having your friendship exploited is another.
  9. Well folks, I've reached my first short-term goal of making 6K Laws. Now I'm going to start on those Cosmic runes.
  10. I think we need a Forum Mod to lock this thread. Clearly we've determined the results of this query.
  11. People who are claiming they can "trim" your armor are just running one of the oldest scams in the book.
  12. You can also save money by growing your own herbs, especially if you gather herb seeds from the Dagannoths underneath the Lighthouse. You'll have to do the quest "Horror from the Deep" to access the Lighthouse.
  13. [hide=Quoting darkblade986] [/hide] I agree that Abyss runecrafting is extremely time effective regardless of the rune type being made since it takes a consistent amount of time to reach the Zamorak Mage, find an inner ring entry way and get to the required Altar portal. I also agree that the time needed to jump the "ditch" is insignificant and the only people who are really complaining about are those who can't lure players into the wilderness area for a cheap (pathetic) player-kill. The combined click-jump-animation to get over the "ditch" may take a total of 1 second to 1.5 seconds or 2 seconds under the worse circumstances. No matter how you look at the "ditch", the time delay is insignificant and nobody should be losing sleep over it.
  14. In order to maximize your runecrafting effectiveness even when not using the Abyss, always make the highest type of runes that you can without going crazy. Let's assume that you're working with 1K pure essence and you don't care if you're wasting it on basic runes. Note, the amount of runecrafting exp is determined on a per-essence basis and not a per-rune basis, so 5-craft Air runes gives the same exp as 1-craft Air runes. Let's have some math to help illustrate my point of maximizing your runecrafting effectiveness: Air runes; exp per essence = 5 Nature runes; exp per essence = 9 Amount of essence being used = 1000 (or 1K for ease of typing) Total exp gained by making Airs = 5K exp Total exp gained by making Natures = 9K exp Here we can see a 4K exp difference between Nature runes and Air runes. It may not seem significant now, but wait until you start going into the higher levels. Now, let's assume that your current runecrafting level is 50. To assist my point and to reduce the amount of math I have to type, I'll use Tip.it's own Runecrafting Calculator, assuming it is 100% accurate. So, let's see the levels in decades (intervals of 10) and compare Air runes to Nature runes: Lvl-50 to Lvl-60:: Air (34,482), Nature (19,157) Lvl-50 to Lvl-70:: Air (127,259), Nature (70,700) Lvl-50 to Lvl-80:: Air (376,947), Nature (209,415) Lvl-50 to Lvl-90:: Air (1,049,000), Nature (582,778) Lvl-50 to Lvl-99:: Air (2,586,620), Nature (1,437,011) Now, since the above values are linearly related, we can find the percentage of more Airs when compared to Natures. To find the percentage, we do the following: [( # of Airs ) - ( # of Natures )] / ( # of Airs ) Which gives us about 44% more Airs to be crafted when compared to Natures. This percentage could have easily been determined by simply comparing the exp of the two rune types as follows: [( Exp of Nature ) - ( Exp of Air )] / ( Exp of Nature ) Which also gives us an exp difference of 44%. For those who say to join the Air Runecrafting Company for some fast exp, I'm sorry to say this but I think you're shooting yourself in the foot. =D>
  15. Another few hours spent traveling from Castle Wars to Entrana via the Hot Air Balloons and many Rings of Dueling and churned out another 2K Law runes. 5K Law runes made, 1K Law runes to go. Once I reach my goal of 6K Law runes, I'm going to take a break and train slayer for a little while. Or visit Varrock and restock on my depleting supply of pure essence. I'll be starting on the Cosmics next. I hope I don't go stir crazy from too much runecrafting. :-X EDIT: I've updated my first post with Draynor.net goal signature bars because they update more often the Bits and Bytes. I'd like the progress bars to show my progress as current as possible.
  16. You can take the following onto Entrana: - tanned leather of any kind; tanned cowhide is your best armor option since you only need to take one tanned cowhide to make any of the leather armor; take 4 in total -- body, chaps, boots and vambraces - steel studs; to stud your soft leather body and leather chaps - fully made arrows; keep them equipped to save one inventory space - snail shell; you can kill snails in the Mort Myre Swamp to get a shell, then use a chisel on it to make a helm - unstrung bow and bowstring; string the bow and you're ready to roll! - needle, thread, chisel You may also want to ask a friend to come with you and carry food for you. That way when you've made all your equipment, your friend can trade you food. If you use the safe spot to range the Tree Spirit, you won't need any food during the fight, but it's better to be prepared than dying and wasting time gathering your gear again.
  17. If you've started Fairytales 2 and have access to the Fairy Ring Network, then you can use the Ring code A-L-R to access the safe Abyssal Space. Then just start killing Abyssal Leeches until they drop the talismans that you need.
  18. Another day at the grind stone. So far I've churned out 3K Laws so instead of leaving Castle Wars to runecraft Natures or Cosmics, I'll finish up my quota of 6K first.
  19. there are plenty of programs that can crack codes like that in about an hour or less. he could've used that. Sure, even with a program that can crack those types of codes, he still had to set up to program to do the cracking.
  20. I just go to areas that require huge amounts of quest time to unlock. Out of sight, out of mind.
  21. Give the guy some credit. At least he took the effort to crack the coded message himself.
  22. If you can afford the silver ore or silver bars, then crafting Tiaras are your best bet. Tiaras have the best exp-per-unit ratio of all the Crafting training options.
  23. That's actually how I plan to train my Runecrafting and Magic. Currently I'm churning out huge quantities of runes, enough for me to get a Full Infinity Set, including the Mage Book. If I'm not mistaken, Full Infinity sells for 14M gp? That's enough to fund 5 more Infinity Sets.
  24. There are some poor people (poor being pathetic, sorry to be derogatory) are totally obsessed in getting an Abyssal Whip that they must see one all the time or else they'll dream about whips when they sleep and wake up suddenly, drenched in cold sweat and yelp out "OMGz! I w4an7s a wh1p b4ddly!" Seriously, though. If this is actually happening to you, you need some serious intervention and professional help.

We shall see who will laugh the last laugh when that player mod gets their status revoked or something worse happens to them.
