  1. Just talk to the company secretary again. You shouldn't have any problems getting a new assignment. Here's a trick you can try. Buy lots of cheap ore like tin or copper from the Blast Furnace store. Then, when the secretary gives you an assignment that isn't the ore you bought, WALK AWAY the end the conversation. This will not count against your score with the company but instead the secretary will give you a different assignment the next time you talk to him/her. This trick only works with the secretary and not with the president.
  2. Thank you! As of July 11th, 2007 at 20:00 (GMT -5), my Runecrafting level is now 62.
  3. I think you're referring to the pre-paid credit cards that MasterCard, am I correct? It's far better if you phone your bank's local branch and ask them directly. I believe these pre-paid credit cards are associated with the person's bank account and thus becomes non-transferable.
  4. Hey guys, I've further fleshed out my blog with goals and other stuff. Check it out!
  5. [/hide] Know your market. You will be buying from P2Pers as they get it as a clue scroll reward and they don't really want it, and you will be selling to F2Pers as it is an expensive variation of their best armor and they can't get it on their own (no clue scrolls). If you have the money and the bank space, the best way to do it is like with Barrows: buy the pieces separately and then sell the full sets. Buying and re-selling individual pieces won't make you much money. That's good to know. I'm not into merchanting since I'd rather spend my time training my skills. Thanks for the heads up. Actually, I have one merchanting question. Is it worthwhile for me to merchant Full Infinity? I plan on training my runecrafting by making laws, natures and cosmics, then using them at the Mage Training Arena to get pizzaz points to buy Full Infinity at the Arena store.
  6. Hi all, My RSN is Celestrana and welcome to my blog. Here you'll can read about my skill training progress and the various goals that I'm working towards. But first, a little about myself and my time on RuneScape. I am an Electrical Engineer graduated from Ryerson University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm in my early 20s and born under the sign of Sagitarrius. I started playing RuneScape around August 2006 on the F2P worlds and like many new players, found the nearest tree or rock and started clicking away! About a month or so later, I found Tip.it. I trained my skills, I completed quests, I met new people, made new friends and by the time November 2006 came around, I've defeated Elvarg. Then I found myself at an impasse. I've finished all the quests, but now what? So I continued to train my various F2P skills, unlocking further abilities and by the time the end of December 2006 came around, I found myself bored of F2P. Then, I decided to make the move into P2P. I signed up and then went all out quest and skill crazy. To make a long story short -- it's not like you guys are really interested at a play-by-play recap of what I did -- I've successfully completed all the quests as of mid-June 2007 and have been happily skilling away, waiting for the next quest to come out. [hide=Skill Summary] [/hide] [hide=Overall Progress] [/hide] [hide=Five Most-Trained Skills] 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. [/hide] [hide=Long Term Goals] 1. My long term goals is to get to level 99 in Slayer and Runecrafting, so I'll be training both more often than my other skills. Since Slayer uses my melee and range combat skills, I'll most likely reach level 99 for those skills as well. 2. Currently I'm runecrafting Laws, Natures and Cosmics so that I can use them at the Mage Training Arena. This will provide a fast and relatively stress free method of training my Magic albiet in a very non-profit way. I intend to get a Full Infinity Set, which includes the Mage Book. [/hide] [hide=Short Term Goals] 1. Getting Full Infinity from the Mage Training Arena. Preparation Check List: [-] = In Progress, [x] = Completed/Reached [x] Runecraft 4.5K Laws [-] Runecraft 7K Natures [x] Runecraft 11K Cosmics (5.5K Cosmics since I double craft them..) Full Infinity Check List: [-] Infinity Boots [-] Infinity Gloves [-] Infinity Hat [-] Infinity Robe Top [-] Infinity Robe Bottom [/hide] Since I'm dedicating myself to Runecrafting, here's what you can do to help me. If you have 1K Pure Essence to sell, send me a private message on the forums or make a post on my blog. I have my blog on watch so I'll know when somebody posts something on it. To reflect current market trends, I'm adjusting my price of Pure Essence from 100gp to 90gp. So that means I'll buy Pure Essence for the price of 90gp per Pure Essence. I prefer to buy essence at multiples of 1K units so that's 90K gp for 1K Pure Essence. I'm also willing to directly trade Runes for Pure Essence. - Nature runes typically sell for 300gp each, I'll trade 1K Nature runes for 3K Pure Essence. - Law runes typically sell for 300gp each, so 1K Law runes for 3K Pure Essence. - Cosmic runes aren't popular runes to sell since many people can double-craft them. I'll sell Cosmics for 100gp each, so 1K Cosmic runes for 1K Pure Essence. I've decided to add a Notable Contributors section to my blog. Here's the idea behind it. Since I'm buying pure essence from players, and looking for permanent or semi-permanent pure essence suppliers, they'll collect points that will go towards an Infinity Item. First, I'll start small and award Infinity Boots or Infinity Gloves and eventually get to the larger rewards like Infinity Robes or even a Master Wand. For now though, the first Full Infinity Set goes towards operating funds. Edit: (11/09/2007) Since the Grand Exchange is coming out soon, I've decided to remove the "Notable Contributors" section since I'll be able to buy Pure Essence from players quickly and painlessly. Ok, maybe not quickly and painlessly but at least quicker and hopefully decently priced. 7. Just so you know, you need to finish Monkey Madness before you can wield the Dragon Scimitar even if you buy it from another player.
  8. I still don't see the point of God Armor and the craze behind it. It has the same stat bonuses as Rune armor and it only looks different by a colored stripe. To me, if it has the same stats as Rune armor, then it's Rune armor. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  9. Off-Topic: Lol! Although this is an extreme solution, this may one day become the only possible solution to the decline of human intelligence. We may just need genetic engineering to make people smarter to slowly weed out stupidity. On-Topic: I think some of these whiny kids that beg for "free stuff" should be pushed out their front doors and into the nearest soup kitchen to volunteer their time and learn what's responsibility and rewards gained through hard work. Parents must also stop being so poultry manuare and give these kids a good ol' fashioned whoopin' on their posteriors! If not the whoopin', don't send their kid to their room, send them outside with some garden tools and make them do some garden work.
  10. The primary requirement is that you must be a Tip.it Crewbie. If you've been selected to become a Tip.it Crewbie, then you can enter by paying a small fee that will go towards the Events Prize Fund. If you aren't a Tip.it Crewbie nor were you selected to become a Tip.it Crewbie, then you'll have a pay a significant'y larger fee that will go towards the Events Prize Fund.
  11. Dragon swim wear: Dragon Speedos for the guys and Dragon bikinis for the girls. One can dream, right?
  12. You're kidding, right? Maybe you should sweeten the pot a little to make it worthwhile for your volunteers.
  13. Let's assume you're killing Bloodvelds in the Slayer Tower since there's a good safe-spot behind a chair. Bloodvelds have 120HP, according to Tip.it's Bestiary database. Let's use the following abbreviations: mithril arrow (MA), Bloodveld (Bv), Hitpoints (HP) and Experience points (exp). So, assuming you do a maximum of 12 damage per mithril arrow, so an average of 6 damage per mithril arrow. Thus 1 Bloodveld needs 20 mithril arrows. Therefore we have the rate of 20 MA per Bv --> 20 MA/Bv. Now, let's assume you're using the Rapid range attack style so that all your exp goes towards Range and it's 4 exp per point of damage or just 4 exp/HP. To crunch some numbers about the Bloodveld: 120HP/Bv * 4exp/HP * ( 1 / (20 MA/Bv) ) = 120HP/Bv * 4exp/HP * Bv/20MA Here, we see the units HP and Bv disappear and we're left with the units exp and MA. So, = 120 * 4 * (1 / 20) exp/MA = 24 exp / MA This is what you can use to estimate the Net exp gain while fighting Bloodvelds and using mithril arrows. This does not take into account the arrows you will lose when they break because that will involve probability theory and your head will explode trying to understand it. Use the above as an example as to how you can calculate rates and thus help you make estimates about exp gain etc. There's your math lesson for the day. Cheers. \
  14. The Dagannoth Kings are deep inside Waterbirth island, an area that you cannot access on your own because you need several people to unlock/open doors that lead to them.
  15. Do you want us to estimate the amount of exp you'll eventually get when you've used up all of your arrows? We need more information before we can help you. Have you tried using Tip.it's Range calculator and make whatever estimate yourself? It's far easier estimating how many of a particular monster you have to kill to get to a target level instead of estimating the amount of exp you'll get per arrow.
  16. Just do slayer assignments to train your combat stats.
  17. One billion pints of Asgarnian Ales. Seriously, just wait for the update. Or if you're diligent, gather all the journal pages, read them and you might find a clue as to what's behind the Mithril door.
  18. How about instead of racing to a portal, each player races to build a wooden raft to sail off the island. They use the skills: - woodcutting to chop trees/bamboo - crafting to weave vines into ropes - woodcutting to cut bamboo into parts for the raft - crafting to weave vines into a sail - cooking to change swamp tar and coconut husks into swamp tar (maybe?) And a lot of other things. Basically the person with higher skills constructs a better raft and constructs it faster.
  19. Lletya or however you spell the name of that elf village. The flax patch is about 10 steps from the bank counter.
  20. You're old school when you still enjoy playing LucasArt's (then LucasFilm Entertainment) "The Secret of Monkey Island" and laugh during the Insult-Swordfighting part of the game. Yes, wrong game but that's how "old school" I am!
  21. My Arm's Big Adventure also has great humourous conversations.
  22. Completing RuneScape is very subjective since this will vary from person to person. You can also ask the questions, "Can you complete life?" or "Can you complete a hobby?" or "Can you stop socializing with friends and the people you've met on RuneScape?". I'm sure I'll get some rather ridiculous, unrealistic, and/or unreasonable responses for these two questions... :shame:
  23. Here's my 2GP: There are far too many posters who post before they think about what they're about to write, thus generating disgustingly high quantities of written diarrhea. Some posters are so close minded to new ideas that the only forms of responses that they post are negative, unproductive in terms of generating further discussion and just plain equine manuare. Then there are posters who totally lack any form of eloquence and whatever they post offends particular groups of people and turns into a flame war. I don't mind people who can't spell or write grammatical decent sentences or use "1337" speak in their posts; maybe they just aren't familiar enough or well practiced or think "1337" speak is cool. It's the people that I described above that I *do* mind and should stick their collective feet into their collective mouths.
  24. I live for quests and F2P is deathly boring. Plus, I didn't want to compete with the bots at the yew trees. Seriously, how can an honest player compete with the Evil Bot Hordes?
  25. You need to finish Regicide to unlock the Quartermaster's stock of Dragon Halberds. You also need to finish Regicide to wield the Dragon Halberd. Fastest way to get to Tyras's camp -- if you've finished Regicide -- is to charter a chartership to Port Tyras. Can't remember to cost of the chartership fee but the Dragon Halberd is 325K when you buy it from the store.
