The effects of piracy on artists
I think piracy has helped music. I do not think it has helped the music industry. There are hundreds of bands that, without piracy and the internet, would have gone pretty much unnoticed. I pirate almost all my music. I justify it by going to a show any time a band that I enjoy comes to town and if I really like them, I'll buy an overpriced tour t-shirt.

Major price changes since Free Trade
There is probably some truth to what you're saying, I only wanted to point out that you had just as much proof as the guy before you did. Everything is speculative unless it is backed up by some evidence, no matter how feasible it may seem. Hence why in my initial post I wrote "no solid numbers but by just going around the world and having a basic grapse of logical numbers you can see theres no realistic way at all tht "most" are pking/staking." Well, then next time, don't point fingers at people who are speculating just as much as you are.

Major price changes since Free Trade
This is because most people are wanting to pk/duel using the new update, not skilling... :| This is because people make random assumptions that have no grounding what so ever in realistic statement or fact. At peak times most worlds are hitting around 1,800 mark. Averaging out across all the worlds you have like 100 pkers per world and 100 stakers per world (generous estimate but still) The equates to 200 pkers/stakers vs 1,600 people playing other content PER WORLD. Of that 1,600 you can prob right off a further 100 to merching/doing nothing Then of the remaining 1,400 probably about 400 go to minigames. And 500 each to skilling and general combat. Yes pkers and stakers make a lot of noise and it is popular; but of overall player population they are one of the smallest segments. no solid numbers but by just going around the world and having a basic grapse of logical numbers you can see theres no realistic way at all tht "most" are pking/staking. Looks to me like you just made those up, too. Are you basing the amount of pkers in a world on only those who are actually fighting? Or does that number include pkers that are stopping at the ge to re-up on supplies? How about pkers that are taking a break in Edge? You can call it logical, but you pulled those numbers out of your ass, exactly like the guy you quoted.

Oh the perils of botting
I have people on my friends list that bot. I'm friends with them irl and I hear plenty of stuff about botting through him. I'm sure I'm not the only one who knows someone who bots. Does this mean I bot? Hell no it doesn't. Maybe he did some independent research on botting, that's not against the rules is it?

You win a cookie for liberating Cario! Liberating Cairo was fun, but I preferred the El Cid campaigns.

From the report I saw (Link), only a few things got smashed. I really hoped they wouldn't do something like that. What a god damn shame.

Age of Empires II, I played the HELL out of that game and its expansion! If it isn't that, it sure looks like it!

Valentines Gifts for your love
Don't feel so bad, I would wager half of those stories are completely made up. Same goes for the ones about drinking.

I didn't say anything about intervening, I meant the U.S. projects their ideas of revolution, overthrow, and democracy on most revolutions that occur around the world when in reality they are nothing alike. It was a rhetorical question anyways.

Did you really expect the U.S. government and people NOT to project their idea of government on Egypt? Narcissistic Americans think every revolution since the 18th century has been inspired by the American Revolution and that every country wants democracy, of course ignoring the fact that the cultural, social, economic, and political landscapes are radically different. Hell, even nature has an effect (think water and food supply) on how events transpire.

01-Feb-2011 - Return of the Wilderness
I gave about 8M total as well. And another 5M to a good friend. He knows who he is. ;) I would given out much more, but I spent almost my entire cashpile on dbones for prayer. It seems like that was a good idea, though, since people have been reporting that dbones prices are going up.

I took 200k into a F2P world and gave out 25k to 8 different people. It feels great to be able to do that, most of them probably were never able to experience free trade. I feel like god damn Santa Claus.

World 2 falador
Sorry, but I don't think enough people love the nostalgia in W2 to bother not usin the GE's convenience of getting your stuff quickly, easily, and probably cheaply. Don't underestimate the average Runescape player's need for nostalgia. I won't be surprised if it makes a come back.

Cool video, but that Coldplay-esque song made it soooo cheesy.

Homogenising the skills
I assume by this you mean combat level. Every skill inherently affects combat unless the user exclusively trains non-combat skills. Even in the case of a non-combat skiller, the fruits of skilling (logs, ores, chinchompas, etc.) directly affect the combat of others and, therefore, the combat skills.

2010/2011 Movies discussion
I'm on board with that too, Shutter Island was definitely his better film. Scorsese v. Nolan. Gee, I wonder who will direct a better performance haha. I feel like I need to see King's Speech as well so I don't go into Oscar night blind.
