Little words for equally little people. I just laugh when people call me names on RuneScape.

Nice, we seem to be on the same page then. Like I said, things are bound to change year to year, just as they are bound to change country to country. What? How are we on the same page? I said your statistics aren't relevant to the discussion because they are outdated... If you've been reading my posts, you would know that my point all along is that it becomes a stalemate for both sides when statistics and credibility are brought up. This has been stated several times in several of my posts. People constantly cling to statistics and ignore any criticism against them - so I returned the favor and showed conflicting statistics to get the point across that statistics shouldn't be the end-all means to predicting what would happen if guns were banned. There are several other logical factors to take into account - such as the fact that the US takes bans quite differently than your average country. I guess I understand what you did, it just seemed a little asinine at first.

BUT DISAGREEING WITH STATISTICS ARE NOT ALLOWED. I've actually been pointing out the flaws of statistics several times throughout the thread, and since any scrutiny and criticism against statistics seems to be completely disregarded, what better way to get the point across than using supporting statistics of my own. Also, correct me if I'm mistaken, but are you saying the 30-year-old statistics should be rendered useless because things surely must have changed? I agree that things are pretty much bound to change over the years, just as things are pretty much bound to change from country to country. I'm not saying I disagree with the numbers or their credibility. And they're not useless either, they're just not relevant. Hundreds of policies have changed in 30 years and there's a good chance that some of them effected guns in some way.

I don't want to split hairs, but your sources are borderline too old. 1982, 1994? That study from '82 is almost 30 years old...

I don't know about you guys....but all I see is DURAN DURAN! Everything else is secondary.

I really liked it because I'm a sucker for neo-noir haha. One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest is a classic though, so good choice.

You'll have to do it the old fashion way, cruise the forums and check the going rate for whatever you want to buy. Head to World 2 Fally Park to see if you can snipe a good deal or head over the Grand Exchange if you don't want to world hop. I'm excited to not be able to buy items immediately and for player interaction to finally return to this game! -
That phrase is used to give a frame of reference for the rest of the article. She's talking more about the amount of "drama" that the updates have caused than the updates themselves. I could take on board the idea that the article was in regard to the drama that the updates had caused, had all the updates caused some drama. The new quest installment and Nex have in no way caused any drama, if anything, these updates have been overshadowed by the drama of the wildy update. And then I respond by saying "drama" is an ambiguous word. Having the most powerful and expensive armor to date being released has definitely stirred the hypothetical pot and caused some drama. You're right about the new quest, though. That doesn't really have a dramatic impact on Runescape.

I usually just browse NPR for articles, so I haven't heard much. Post the info! -
More USA documents get released by Wikileaks

Ex-Swiss Banker Gives Account Data To WikiLeaks [spoiler=Article]A former Swiss banker said Monday that he has handed over to WikiLeaks two discs containing what he claims is information on 2,000 offshore bank account holders. Rudolf Elmer, an ex-employee of Swiss-based bank Julius Baer, said the documents reveal case after case of tax evasion and involve 40 politicians as well as entertainers and multinationals from the U.S., the U.K. and elsewhere. He refused to name the account holders, but said the data span a period of at least 19 years and involve three banks. Elmer, who is scheduled to go on trial this week for breaking bank secrecy laws, said he believes he has the right to take a stand against a system that permits secret and often illegal activity. "I do think as a banker I have the right to stand up if something is wrong," said Elmer, who addressed reporters at London's Frontline Club alongside WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. "I am against the system. I know how the system works and I know the day-to-day business. From that point of view, I wanted to let society know what I know. It is damaging our society," Elmer said. WikiLeaks said that none of the material will be published on its website before Assange's team has had a chance to verify the data. The Julius Baer bank said it was aware of Elmer's decision to pass a new set of files to WikiLeaks. "He didn't attack us at this press conference, he explicitly targeted not us but 'the system,"' said the bank's spokesman, Jan Vonder Muehll. Assange praised the ex-banker's attempts to expose alleged shady practices in the financial industry. The WikiLeaks founder was making a rare public appearance since he was released on bail on Dec. 16 following his arrest on a Swedish extradition warrant. Elmer has previously offered files to WikiLeaks on financial activities in the Cayman Islands and claims his previous disclosures showed evidence of major tax avoidance in the Caribbean. Assange said that as with other releases by WikiLeaks — which caused an uproar in November when it began posting its cache of about 250,000 secret U.S. diplomatic cables to the Internet — some media organizations could be given the bank information ahead of time. He named the Financial Times and Bloomberg as possible candidates. The files, or parts of the files, also may be provided to British government fraud investigators to examine for any evidence of criminal wrongdoing, the website's founder said. "We will treat this information like all other information we get," Assange said. "There will be a full revelation." Britain's tax authority declined to comment when asked about Assange's plan to supply details of alleged wrongdoing. Under the terms of his release on bail, Assange must live at the mansion home of Vaughan Smith, the owner of the Frontline Club. He has compared the regime to "high-tech house arrest," but has recently promised that the flow of leaked documents published by his organization would increase Oh man, this should be fun! -

why should they try to appease a small minority? Because the small minority can shout really hard. If you're implying that the people that voted 'yes' and ranted about the Wilderness/Free Trade being taken away were a minority, then you're dead wrong. -

Think hard, they're extremely close in the themes they touch on. Creation, human morals, society's influence on the "pure" individual, science, and bunch more.
-
If you want to give citizens weapons to fight against the government, fine. Outlaw handguns and let everyone keep their rifles and shotguns. They are more useful when fighting a fully armed soldier anyways.

Hahahahaha this made my day, god I hated that movie.

If you liked The Wrestler you will no doubt love Black Swan. These two movies are sister movies in a way. The Wrestler takes a sport (professional wrestling) that is by nature gritty, tough, and masculine and shows the emotion and (dare i say it) beauty behind it. Wrestling is, in a sense, a dance and the film portrays that well. Black Swan takes ballet which is, by nature, elegant, emotional, and beautiful and shows the dark side behind it: the hostile relationships and fierce competition between the dancers and the exploitative nature of a dance company's chauvinistic male owner. Aronofsky has a way of infusing activities and relationships in his movies with the most basic of human emotions, making his films very unique and powerful. So yes, as Tripsis said....very artistic haha :shades:

But you are failing to read. I believe I'm reading just fine. I'm reading an argument that's conclusion is rendered illogical by its lack of evidence. You're definitely entitled to an opinion, but that doesn't make it right just because someone doesn't prove it wrong.

I'm not the one asserting biased and unproven claims. I don't need to prove anything to you haha.

It seems my post has already been ignored. It's their choice to join gangs and face possible risks for possible rewards. Life is like that. But what does matter is when politicians try to limit gun control by referencing statistics which include criminals' deaths, criminals who don't listen to the law now, and won't listen to the new gun laws tomorrow. It's still absurd that you would say that because they are gang related shootings, they don't count. It also seems like you're implying that people outside of gangs don't use guns in a manner that harms other people and if they do, it is somehow okay to count those statistics. I hate playing this card, but you really need to back up your initial claims with some sort of statistics. There is enough evidence out there on the topic of gun law/crime rate to justify your argument if it really is sound.

So in essence what you're saying is that it's perfectly alright for gangs to kill each other, as long as they're not killing "innocent" people (or at least that they are not worth of being counted as a gun related death). That seems to be a little bit discriminatory if you ask me.
