  1. I convinced my friends not to go to the theatre last night for this one because I didn't want to spend $10+ on an average movie. Instead I got them to watch The Seventh Seal (1957). It was a pretty good movie although the chess theme kind of gets slightly worn out over time.
  2. Judging by your joining date, you haven't really experienced free trade and pking. Someone would need to have started playing at the start of 2006 to really know what it's about, and you might have, but there are ALOT of people out there and here that didn't pk, didn't stake and don't nearly have the capital to afford rare items, thus their opinions are mostly useless(they don't know what we are missing). By your logic, thousands of people quit runescape for no reason at all. Do you really think so? That's a ridiculous statement. My join date is '07 but I've been playing since 2004.
  3. BEHOLD. THE GREAT IGLOO OF 2010. (With not so great cellphone pictures) A little deceptive, this goes in about 15 feet. Comfortably seats 10+ Side angle with the house for scale. Home sweet home! We made a base of about half that size with shovels and then snowblowed about half of my yard directly on the pile (notice the boulevard snow piles, one is significantly smaller haha). Then we let it freeze overnight and hollowed it out the next day. The large stick you see in the top of the igloo was so when we hollowed it out, we had a reference point as to not dig too far.
  4. A person whose job is to protect people and has training beyond the basics can have a gun. I have no problem with that.
  5. My hometown in Wisconsin got over 20" of snow about a week ago now. My friends and I are all back for Christmas break and are making a front yard-sized igloo. Pics coming soon........
  6. I get a chuckle out of the pro-gun rights posters on here. Every hypothetical situation involving guns always goes smoothly and always ends up with the bad guy getting shot. Have you guys even had a gun drawn on you before? Do you know what it's like to have a gun pointed in your face? The only thing you have time to do is drop a big dump right in your pants. Get off your high horse if you think a gunman would ever let you get your gun out in time.
  7. I'll throw on some Iron and Wine, Jose Gonzalez, or even Tears for Fears :o
  8. Even though it has died down recently, I still think this thread is great. Good resource for music if you're looking for new stuff.
  9. Gotta love a GOAT. They're awesome cars!
  10. Those new Challengers are pretty sweet, but I'd like to have an original one. Here's a pic of my Dad's '74: (no he doesn't have it anymore )
  11. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. This will no doubt be a new meme if it has not already achieved that status. DOUBLE DREAM HANDS!!
  12. If your judgment of how well a government is doing is if you can walk down the street safely, go to your job, and socialize then I don't know what to tell you. Government tends to make life comfortable for middle class white people because that's who it is run by haha.
  13. Bull [cabbage]. A government does whatever it can to protect its power and its image without upsetting the status quo.
  14. I was not saying that the U.S. government called up the companies and personally told them to stop, I was suggesting that companies like Amazon, PayPal, Mastercard, etc. are nothing but bootlickers. When you have U.S. policy that helps out these companies (credit card companies dealing in Russia comes to mind), they will return the favor when the U.S. government needs it. Such is the case with WikiLeaks. It would be crazy not to think these companies got as big as they did without sleeping around. You choose not to connect the dots. EDIT: This is what I was looking for.
  15. This isn't the first time they've released cables or classified information. Those companies didn't care about it until the U.S. government told them to care.
  16. Clearly this is not the first time that WikiLeaks has released sensitive material and I'm sure that they've broken terms of service many times before without any action taken against them. Those companies just folded because they didn't want to be on the bad side of the U.S. government. Classic case of you rub my back, I'll rub yours.
  17. Game, set, match :P Don't exactly think they're fighting for freedom of information. I think they're just being the morons that 4chan-ers are.
  18. I usually find myself disagreeing with your viewpoints but I love this article
  19. Can I panic yet? Like you, I also had to wait to find out who I was supposed to be afraid of. I was confused at first because I did not feel threatened at all, but once mainstream media told me, I felt a little safer knowing who I was afraid of.
  20. EVERYONE IS A COMMUNIST!!! THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! SPREAD THE FEAR! Whoops...wrong government-defined enemy.
  21. I accepted the fact that I could die at any moment for pretty much any reason a long time ago. My daily decisions are not designed to prolong my stay here. I do whatever I want to and try to live in the "now" as much as possible. As for why I'm living? Because my body hasn't shut down yet. That's the only one.
  22. Ah yes the Pixies love him and David Lynch haha. I have it on my hard drive but I haven't watched it yet, I'm waiting until Sunday when my roommate gets home to watch a couple with him.
  23. There is far too much corruption in Washington for me to ever trust them to make the right decision. If they can disguise the truth enough to get away with it, they will. It has happened countless times.
  24. That one is on my short-list of Brunuel movies I need to see especially since it's a collaboration with Dali. You should check out his other movies, from what I've read his Mexican movies were some of the best he made. I've only started watching them recently though, so I'm no expert.
