Snow in warmish climates = ugly slush. Snow in colder climates where it stays snow = awesome (except when you start to get the muddy slush build up on the roads) Heh, many, many decades ago there was a fire of some sort in my city (I can't remember the specifics), and a bunch of horses tried to cross the river. They froze halfway through the river, and they stayed like that all winter. Eventually people would walk down there that winter for strolls among the horse heads and have picnics on them and stuff

In the single digits? That ain't cold
  5. He wasn't there to kill the woman. Shooting a gun is a lot harder than people think, especially when you're an idiot like that guy and don't seem to know how to shoot
  6. Ginger hit him with a purse, she's got huge balls, especially for a woman. Also lol, all the people saying he just wanted to scare them. You don't point a gun at someone and pull the trigger to scare them
  7. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/dec/15/wikileaks-bp-azerbaijan-gulf-spill More in the link Also, [bleep] the media blackout on the after/continuing effects of the spill
  8. From zybez: An update, apparently Manning is being kept in isolation (considered by many to be torture), despite not being convicted of anything http://www.salon.com/news/wikileaks/index.html?story=/opinion/greenwald/2010/12/14/manning
  9. Pretty sure a rational person would, you know, take those pictures to the POLICE I do not see what value this reply has other than to make my example look 'invalid'? I would gladly discuss your views on the matter. But please don't make straw arguements like this. Your hypothetical situation sucks

  11. Julian was granted bail, prosecution decided not to fight it, and he will be released when the money is delivered. Also, Iceland is considering banning Visa and Mastercard because of Wikileaks. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/12/mastercard-visa-licenses-revoked-iceland-wikileaks/ Also, ROFL at Obama quote is on Change.gov, Obama's campaign site. http://change.gov/agenda/ethics_agenda/
  12. "Use misleading quotes, everything from Tea Party" I petition all parents of the world to kick their pale-skinned teenaged sons and or daughters out of their basements, and force them to get a real job. The quickest way to stamp out this nonsense is to make them get a real job. Educating people/making them more aware seems more effective and productive than attacking websites

I love having it nice and hot in the summer, and then cold in the winter. Would be boring to have it one all year, plus the snow makes everything look pretty. To everyone who is in places like Florida, I'd hate to be there. Especially around Christmas. I was in Jamaica for Christmas last year and it felt so weird not having snow for it that I forgot about it until I saw some poor bastard walking up and down the beach in a Santa suit on Christmas. Definitely would rather be somewhere cold for Christmas, and I don't think I'd mind living somewhere up North if I had to, weather wise anyway
  14. aaaannyway, back to the leaks

I love winter. We've been having a bit of the opposite weather compared to last year. Getting more snow, and it's way warmer. Been at or warmer than -20 or -30C so far
  16. I thought that it was pretty much the classic hero portrait: staring above and beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. Assange looks like he's thinking, "How bad will my butt hurt when I get jailed and drop the soap in the shower?" Other inmates at the jail Julian is being held are actually slipping notes of support under his door <3: Also, there were some good posters about prison rape

  19. Ah. Why would you feel the need to do that? I've learned that no matter how despicable the person/company/whatever, there's always someone willing to stick up for them -.-
