  1. :? heh? I know, it's confusing. Let's call my ex(ish) A and her friend F. I met A at a party, she was sort of onto a few guys, one of which was Harr. I was sober and, formally speaking, in a relationship at the time, but I was going to end it two days later. We didn't do anything risqué. I went on a date with A once my previous relationship was over, then I met her friend F. We hung out several times, and I lost attraction for A finding out she had self-esteem, alcohol and weed problems. So I told her we were on a break until she had those sorted out. The drugs are gone, but her self-esteem is still low to this day. I might have to talk to her about that. Then I started hanging with F more and more, chemistry, attraction, etc, turns out the feelings were mutual, so I did everything right. And now she moved to Australia. To employ a dramatic turn of phrase, I've been star-crossed; there's nothing constructive I can take away from this, only the idea that no matter how good you do, sometimes it rains. And when it rains, it pours.

I disagree about shorter shorts. Prepsters pull off bermudas very well. [Edit] Oh, and I get asked if I'm gay all the time, and I don't care. Gayest hetero some of my friends know, apparently. Let me find Brad P's ebook and get back to you on that issue. [hide=From Brad P's Fashion Bible] [/hide] Yeah, yeah, this is a PUA book, point is what he's saying is interesting.

I just tripped out, my friend is moving to Canberra right now. It's a she though.
  4. I don't think that's precise enough for us to give you anything even close to advise. You get a high-five for the jokes though. :P

I only have one pair of shorts. I find most of them look bad. [Edit] I think this thread has become a PM conversation. :P
  6. I lol'd. Thanks for the tips, more of what I already had  My ex-ish's friend just left for Australia (on an indefinite break with the first girl, but I'm not attracted to her), and she's not coming back. I didn't try anything with the friend because of that and because I wanted to do right by the girl I was with before, but damn, I'm disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if she was interested, too. No advice needed here, I just can't help but shake my fist at the heavens. @helpme: Get her a Ring Pop. Parody-propose. It's in the bag.

Any advice on keeping your look real through 40°C heat?

A word of advice: put your shoes in the freezer overnight, especially if you go sockless. It will kill any bacteria and neutralize the smell. And if you're dealing with a scorching heat wave, you'll thank me in the morning.
  9. You have a confidence problem, RPG. That's normal after the same girl has dumped you, what, 14 times if I remember correctly? My first advice would be to fix your perceived flaws if they're real, but I'm not sure that's a good idea - theoretically, you should be able to heal without improving yourself, but instead by accepting who and what you are. I did say theoretically because I can't see a practical solution to that problem. I'll leave it up to others to figure it out.

This summer, I'm wearing red Vans Authentics and blue Chukka Boots, both in canvas, both sockless if I'm wearing shorts. My right Chukka is worn on the front from anticaspers, and I'm going to take them out for a sunwash soon. I'll wear black suede Clark's Desert Boots this winter.
  11. Rpg, you're creating your own problems. Have fun tomorrow but don't make an *effort* to seduce her (I know, sometimes it comes naturally to be a hottie), then stop caring about girls, damn it! You're almost obsessed.
  12. You'll get laid when you'll stop caring about getting laid.

I have a caramel man's afro. If I didn't shower for 8 days, I'd probably have to snip it off.
  14. I don't want to get into an alcohol discussion again, but here you can drink and be hated by everyone, and be straight edge without being shunned, and anything in between. Are people really into drinking that badly?
  15. Good, that's better than nothing :)
  16. -rep [Edit] oh, I need to stop double-posting. [Edit] And I'm too slow. OK I'll stop posting, delete if you wish
  17. I think you should give it a try, if it really doesn't work out then drop it, but you should make a valid effort.

If that makes you feel better, you made me laugh :P

Mr. Oizo & Gaspard Augé (big 'stache dude from Justice) have released an EP of 4 tracks from the soundtrack to the former's new movie, Rubber. 3 originals, one remix by Flying Lotus. 20. It's worth it if you enjoy it a lot, fun is subjective, etc
  21. Growing up doesn't just happen, you face problems, you learn to deal with them, and it's that experience that will turn you into a man. No one's going to take care of this one for you, so if you keep being childish, again, the problems will stay.
  22. I think you have a to make a choice. Either you become friends with him, or you keep being childish and your friendship with her will suffer. Life is like that, sometimes you have to find a compromise and suck it up.
  23. Yes, try to befriend him. If your best friend likes him, chances are if you looked beyond their relationship, you'd like him too. The first step in my opinion would be to have a talk with him and explain that you're sorry for any negativity that's been going on between you two and that you want to start off with a clean slate again.
  24. I find fireworks really boring.
  25. You might be right to a certain extent, but it's not like he's a basement dweller. I suppose you're not the most popular of them all, but not an authentic loser archetype, dsavi? (david?)
