11 November 2008 - Stealing Creation
when I first saw this I was like.. omg, its ikov and he's holding the staff of armadyl... but if its really Ikov, I dont know Edit: Yes, works fine for me W56 It isn't Ikov, he died a long time ago. This fellow (probably) is Lucien, the Mahjarrat standing in Ardougne. What he's holding is the Staff of Armadyl, an artifact he is trying to get hold of for a long, long time. The Armadyl communiqué states that despite your efforts, Lucien has found a way to get the Staff. So there you have it.

Night-time Could Be Arriving...
I don't if this is new or ancient, but the shadows of trees, buildings etc. move from time to time, it's like the (hypothetical) sun is moving.

Tut Island Graphic Update Plus More Info from RSOF!
I find it disturbing that people would actually say things like this... Do you not understand? Why would they update tutorial island if it's supposed to be gone? Why spend the time to make all those graphical changes when the new tutorial is supposed to replace it? Why is there a new quest symbol on the map in explorer jack's house which was added when tutorial island was created? Its a discussion. Also, on the first weird part, why is a rabbit's foot shown in the mining section? It could possibly relate to things to come. Plus it's in man's nature to ask why, we want to know and explain everything :) Guess he isn't human  I agree that it's strange to update the island after it has been made obsolete, so we have to ask ourselves this: Why update it? Because people can see it. But if new accounts don't start anymore on the island, then how can we get to it again? And why? There has to be a reason, and there we have it: a Quest. One other possibility is that people can visit Tutorial Island to see how it was in the past or something, like an old ruin/village. But then why update? I would've left it in the old state so people can laugh at the low level of detail. :)

You are absolutely right about that my good man. All of the Ancient Pages are found in the Ancient Cavern, but only some of them are notes about the cavern itself. Many pages are just nonsense and litter, for example page #5: 'The combination of each of these prime ingredients will result in a fine pie, heightening the reactions of the lucky fellow who eats it. Sadly, most demand in my establishment is from scruffy fellows who make the place look untidy.' It appears to have been written by a bar/restaurant owner, and partly details how to cook a Summer Pie. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Cavern. There are more pages like this, even a flier from Bob's Axes... in Lumbridge! The 'orbs of light' page (#24) was likely torn from the Journal of Randas. In the Underground Pass a book containing a similar story can be found. Can you check that book? There might be gaps in it that might just be that page from the Ancient Cavern. I was thinking about that too, but as I'm currently F2P I can't check the book itself ingame. I know where it respawns, and I have it in my bookcase of my POH. The book contains the following: I came to cleanse these mountain passes of the dark forces that dwell here. I knew my journey would be treacherous, so I deposited Spheres of Light in some of the tunnels. These spheres are a beacon of safety for all who come. The spheres were created by Saradominist mages. When held they boost our faith and courage. I still feel... Iban relentlessly tugging... at my weak soul...... bringing out any innate goodness to ones heart, illuminating the dark caverns with the light of Saradomin, bringing fear and pain to all who embrace the dark side. My men are still repelled by 'Ibans will', it seems as if their pure hearts bar them from entering Ibans realm. My turn has come, I dare not admit it to my loyal men, but I fear for the welfare of my soul. As I can't read the book I don't know where one page ends and the next starts, otherwise it would be easier to see where the Ancient Page fits. But looking at the content of the book, it looks like it is one complete story (if you ignore the soultugging bit, thats because he went nuts) and no page seems to be missing... Al the same it seems clear to me that the Ancient page talks about the Spheres of Light in the Underground Pass.

Saradomin: God of pleasentry, order, and wisdom (not good!) Guthix: God of Balance Zamorak: God of Chaos Armadyl: Unknown, but believed to be a good God (not necessarily God of Good). Armadyl has similar philosophies as Saradomin and pivots with his view on minuscule points. However, he takes a more peaceful approach to law, order and virtue than Saradomin. While Saradomin may willing start war as a means of peace, Armadyl is more peaceful, though he still fought during the God Wars, though possibly only to defend himself and his followers. Zaros: Unknown (not God of Evil) Bandos: God of War

Armadyl Guardian
Wether you've done the quest or not isn't the only factor that counts. Maybe you only get the message if you've done Temple of Ikov, AND have certain levels, AND completed certain other quests... We don't know for sure, unless we write down all the levels of all the skills and all completed quests of all the people who have and haven't received the message :?
-
Armadyl Guardian
Well it could either be a mistake by Jagex, or you don't have some levels demanded for the quest.

Armadyl Guardian
Well if you can't be bothered to just read this topic, I'll explain it simple: There is a quest named Temple of Ikov. In this quest, a fellow named Lucien asks you to retrieve a special staff for him from a temple dedicated to the hero Ikov. After you've ventured deep into the dungeon, you meet a group of warriors loyal to the old, kinda unknown but good god Armadyl. You learn that Lucien is a bad man, and that the staff he wants is actually the Staff of Armadyl himself! Now you can choose: side with the Guardians of Armadyl and kill Lucien, or kill the Guardians, take the staff and give it to Lucien. The big news of the last few days is that if you've completed the quest, and you sided with the Guardians, you will suddenly see a messenger of Armadyl popping up, delivering a message from the leader of the Guardians, and then he dissappears again. This sparks speculations and discussions about a sequel to the Temple of Ikov Quest. You only get the message if you sided with the Guardians of Armadyl in the Temple of Ikov Quest, because the message is only meant for (friends of) Guardians of Armadyl. Check your Questlog maybe?

Armadyl Guardian
This was written at the bottom of today's postbag. :-k Isn't he the farmer near the Wild Vine patch or something? Yes, but the Duke of Lumbridge is also called Horacio, and he defending his defences sounds a lot more interesting... Maybe an attack on Lumby

Armadyl Guardian
Where did you read that he "told her a lie?" well she doesn't quite know what she's guarding. so one way or another he lied to her about what shes guarding Or Guthix simply said: 'this is a holy site, don't let the unworthy in... please'. That way, he didn't lie and Juna still didn't know what she was guarding exactly.

Well, if the posts before are true and Movario is searching for the Stone of Jas, then that means that Lucien is basically trying to become one of the Elder Gods (gods stronger than Guthix, look them up on runewiki :ohnoes: ). My theory is that the fist of Guthix is the Stone, but just a hunch based on the designs of the fist and the cutscene from Making History. Mistress Seren is more than just made up of crystal. Not only is she the "divine" aspect of the Animal Mundi, but she ties directly with the Stone: the source of both magic AND the Animal Mundi. Quite frankly, I hope that one of the Elder Gods takes the stone from Geilinor forever; it's causing tension to build up dramatically. The quests are setting up the world like in a game of "squares"; the players keep drawing lines until it's impossible to NOT give a box to the other. The world will probably go into another gods war at this rate, but not before Kaqueemex and his druids are killed to prevent the Edicts of Guthix from following through  [/hide] Yes and no. The stone once was at the location of the "Fist of Guthix" (which was one a Saradomin camp) but is long gone hidden somewhere else. Most sources we have, Including the Oracle, Juna, and other NPC's point that the stone is currently hidden deep in the lumbridge caves, possibly at the Tears of Guthix. As for the Fist of Guthix, how the story goes, Guthix used the stone at the fist to be the end all, of the 3rd age god wars. "Slamming his Fist" down (either physically or metaphorically) he used his powers, and possibly the stone, to stop the groups from fighting. My guess is Guthix slammed the stone into the ground (hence fist of Guthix), he threatened to destroy the stone if the groups continued fighting. They stopped and he then hid the stone away from the world, while the fighting no longer took place. Now that Guthix has been gone awhile, these evil characters are trying to regain their footholds they once had pre-3rd age wars. Also Judging by a few references like the one from Hazelmere, it appears there will be a war type of event about to occur in the north, but We will be accompanied by someone (of great slayer importance) to help stop the wars in the north before they begin. A quest like this covers so many sides and is so big, I have a feeling its going to involve almost every faction and group during the quest. We have the Gnomes wanting to destory the humans, with the elves help (possibly with a Maj.'s Help), Draken looking to get over the Salve, Zem looking to crush Varrock again, Lucien plotting getting his hands on the stone before every else, and some of the other Maj's out in the world, we dont even know where. I feel like this quest may leave more questions than it will answer. Great Slayer importance? Duradel? Aparently one of those anagrams had something to do with him. Has anyone noticed the huge hole near Tears of Guthix? That is where I think the stone is. Nice ideas you have there btw. =D> There was a letter about the hole near ToG in the last Postbag: So the only thing she says is that Guthix isn't down that chasm, but she says nothing else. She only recommends we stay away from it, which you could interpret as that there is something interesting down there... or just certain death by pointy rocks :ohnoes: .

The 'Barbarian' Dungeon isn't the official name of the Ancient Cavern, and is only named so because the barbarians lived in the neighbourhood, discovered it and get lost in it. It is not 'their' cavern. It's just plain old land, with Saradomian humans and Guthixian Gnomes living there. Yes, the Dragonkin created ALL the dragons, so the Mithril ones too. It is a fact that they are their creators. Nothing wrong in that sentence, but... duh! That, indeed, is something that I have been thinking about too.

28 October 2008 - Hallowe'en Event and Quest
To F2P, the quest is part of the holiday. Don't call people stupid and overlook the bulk of them please? I never said the quest wasn't part of the holiday. I said the quest wasn't part of the event. I said people saying the event had an amazing reward because of the xp, cat, broom and outfit were stupid because only the outfit is the reward for the event. Equally for the f2p view point the quest reward ain't exactly brilliant. The main high points of the quest reward are the mage xp and purple cats. Since f2p can't get cats and can't get any of the enchantments they receive neither of these boons. Though the 10 genie xp style doses of the soup is no doubt useful to them. My argument still entirely stands regardless of p2p or f2p status that only the warlock/witch outfit count as the event reward as the rest is the quest reward. Allright Paw Claw, that's your opinion. And when I look at this year's Hallowe'en your way I quite agree, but I choose to look at it as more fun more diverse that former years. Besides, in your summary a few posts back you forgot to mention that we all (f2p included) got a really snazzy emote \
