28 October 2008 - Hallowe'en Event and Quest
If this is for various witches around Runescape, there are that have been missed so far. There's a witch in Draynor (Aggie), a witch in Rimmington (from Witch's Potion Quest) and one in the Temple of Ikov (Teleports you across the water). I can't check them out because I'm stuck at work... Aggie and the Rimmington witch don't work, just checked.

28 October 2008 - Hallowe'en Event and Quest
Dude, it's simple really: only if you helped the Guardians of Armadyl you get a message. They won't send you something after you've murderded a couple of their people and sided with their arch-nemesis! The guard YOU saw was just someone elses', gaving him/her a message. I've seen a couple too, delivering to others (I got one myself too). As for the Mysterious Stairs in the Ancient Cavern; those dragonheads, anvils and trenches in the floor look like it's a forge of some kind. Probably lava will flow out of the Dragon's mouth, into the 'bath', and when it overflows it'll flow through the trenches to other pipes or whatever. That's why the anvils are so close to it, it's useful for Smithing. And yeah, I think the Dragonkin and therefore the Dragon metal will be involved. Some of the Ancient Pages you uncover in the cavern talk about the Kin, and they DO have something to do with creating the Mithril Dragons (and the whole cave, for that matter). Anyway, this forge looks too spectacular to be 'just' any forge, and who ever uses lava for Smithing? (besides TzHaar :shame: ) And don't forget the message of the bottom of this update: A distant rumble has recently been heard just north of Baxtorian Waterfall... 'Distant' means underground, allthough the section of the Ancient Cavern behind the Mystery Stairs is located south of the main section...

Haloween quest start place ?! Weird!
Jagex announced that, for this Hallowe'en, we would get a holiday event AND a Hallowe'en Quest... Completely missed that in the BTS, thanks for clarifying. The question is still open! No probs buddy  I think it's the Hallowe'en Quest, as that one is the only one that'll come out in the near future.

The Ancient Warriors Origins
Where does it say what exactly? Could you please form one or more specific questions, that way I can answer them more effectively. Thanks in advance : Could you read the quotes please? it states in there that someone said that on the rs wiki saysthat mahjarrat don't need runes to cast spells. Oh that! Yeah sorry, it's late here and there were some other things mentioned in the quotes, but alright: Abilities Magically, the Mahjarrat are second to none, and can use magic without the assistance of runestones. Not all use magic primarily, but with training they are nearly unstoppable. For instance, some can cast spells that prevent the victim from aging, but at the cost of making them nearly entirely immobile. They use this to their advantage, torturing and starving ther victims for hundreds to thousands of years. They are also capable of preventing wounds from healing, inflicting pain with their minds, raising the dead, and placing themselves in a sleep that, in time, can heal even the most severe of wounds. Records also tell of single Mahjarrat darkening the skies with living blood and clouds that take on dangerous forms and block the sky. Those particularly skilled are known even to possess the ability to hide Godly energy from detection and traverse the Realm of Dreams. They are also some of the original users of Ancient Magicks. This is said at the 'Mahjarrat' page

The God Wars Dungeon's Frozen Door
I know about that thread, but its about all doors. This is only about this door and what we can expect. Teehee, that's my thread! \ The Door itself is a strange thing indeed: A large gate with ALL of the represented God Symbols on it, in a place of constant warfare. It was surely crafted by intelligent hands, and probably not solely by/for Aviantese, as they can fly and would have build it higher up, so the groundbound enemies couldn't reach it. It isn't logical that ANY of the four parties made it by themselves, because it has ALL symbols on it, and it isn't placed in one of their bases, but in the shared battlefield, neutral ground you could say. I don't think that a fifth party just shambled in and made it either. What we can safely assume imo is that maybe two or three but probably all four parties helped to build the door (and everything behind it), so representatives of the four Gods could talk, negotiate and maybe even make deals. I don't think that there is or was any God behind it, because the door is simply too small! Nah just kidding, but seriously: Saradomin and Zammy could practically kill eachother, and so many gods in one room is never a good idea imo. Zaros is silly too, as he had 'died' and was banished to another dimension. If you were an all-powerfull god that was locked up, and you suddenly saw a couple of guys tunnel out of the wall, freak out and seal it again, would you go back to sleep again? Or nuke the [wagon] door out, taking half the dimension with it? Guthix could be, but it's a very small possibility. Maybe someone was busy tunneling, when they stumbled upon the gigantic chasm guthix was hibernating in, and they sealed it with all of the gods approval, because if one of them woul wake him, they would all lose. And that's my opinion... phew long post :P

Jennica's Ring and Strange Old Man
Hmm, another thing I just remembered: Mahjarrat have the power to stop someone from aging, but at the cost of making them (the victim/receiver) nearly entirely immobile. Enakhra did this to Pentyn (a knight from Avarrocka), and Akthanakos, torturing and starving them for hundreds of years! This could have been done to the Strange Old Man too, and he's gone mad from the torture. That doesn't explain why he can still move though... :-k A spell to controll his body is plausible, as Enakhra did something similar to Akthanakos, transforming him into a guard who attacks intruders.

The Ancient Warriors Origins
[hide=] this may be true, cna anyone substantiate this claim? Weeeell, i can't back it up per say..., but i can use logic. For the without runes bit, i remember seeing that (probably in a postbag, or a god letters) "magic runs through their veins" referring to the mahjarrat. As for every mahjarrat using ancients, well, there were only about 100 or so mahjarrat that came to Runescape, so either they were the cream of the crop and could wtfpwn nearly every human which would prove ancients as being powerful (though, if a mere human could master it, i kinda doubt it's that special to a mahjarrat), or every mahjarrat can use ancients in some form which would explain why a human could learn it. Urgh, long run on sentence. Well, "magic running through their veins" could just mean they were very adept at mastering it with more basic runes. Well I don't have the facts to prove it right now, but take it from me, the Mahjarrat can perform Magic without needing runes. I'm sure I read it in various tomes as well as seeing it ingame, and besides that it is also stated on the Runescape Wiki. (Which counts as about 99% proof) As far as I know every Mahjarrat can use Magic without the aid of runes, they used Ancient Magicks (they probably were the first to use it), and they were the only ones to use it in Zaros's armies. It could of course be possible that they teached the Magicks to other, including human, mages, who followed Zaros, but there has been no proof found about that. ROFL: since when has wiki's been counting as "proof"? WIKI's are almost the opposite of "proof": they're only good at giving you hints so you start looking into the right direction. But as it's user inputted you can and should never trust a wiki for being the truth! [/hide] @Joke: You are right, but I was talking about the followers of Zaros in the Third Age. As far as I know there has been no proof of anyone else than Mahjarrat casting Ancient Magicks during the God Wars right? We know humans can learn it, so it's not impossible that some did, but... no proof. @Pulli: I agree with you partially, as wiki's are indeed user imputted and can therefore never be taken for truth blindly. BUT, there are a lot of wonderful people down there who (besides me) never stop checking everything the wiki contains, correcting if false, placing if new, and deleting the childish assaults. That's why I said you could count information derived from the RS Wiki as '99% proof', as there is a next to none chance that it is false. Besides, there are other people in this discussion who said they remembered the same thing, and that it was mentioned in a God Letter or something.

Jennica's Ring and Strange Old Man
[hide=] Maybe....but didnt they say they were dead for 400 years? if it is...strange old man is really really old :ohnoes: Edit:Kb manual -> Areas -> Others -> spirit realm Under personalities of summer bonde Well, he is strange. Not to mention old. :ohnoes: don't forget, a man. ummm anyone els realize this. the barrows brothers were created by a servant of zaros. the servant of zaros was a man in a black cloak who dissapeared before their last battle. now their is a stange old man near their burrial site sounding as if he's centuries old????????? :ohnoes: [/hide] I hadn't even thought about it till you said it, but there are speculations about the Strange old man being Sliske. Sliske was a Mahjarrat who worked for Zaros, and it is said that he currently 'delves in the shadows', which could easily point to the endless digging of the SOM. The SOM was also the guy who sent a scroll to Reldo about the Barrow Brothers. Oh yes, it is confirmed that Sliske currently lives, and there are some more facts linking Sliske to the Barrows, but I don't have them close by. But as Sliske is a Mahjarrat, and Mahjarrat's are practically immortal, he could have easily known Jennica personally, even more because she lived in the area of the old Zarosian Empire. The only thing not fitting in is why he is such a freaking nutcase... :-k Maybe the pain and agony of the death of his loved one (lover or relative... or both! :o incest, as mentioned above) made him go crazy?

Behind The Scenes - October Edition
Hmm these PvP worlds sound interesting, and I don't even like pking... :-k Maybe I'll try 'em out, sounds good enough to break my retirement : (at least for one day) But, will they be F2p, or won't they? that is the question... :?

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
It's just another map for clan wars. which one? I spotted that too, it matches the northern end of Lletya. But as the Clan Wars arena isn't anywhere near Lletya (not even on the world map in fact), my conclusion is that it can only be either a 'spare' Lletya for cutscenes, or, as Wallettheif said, another CW Arena. I'm not sure, as I haven't seen all the available Arenas :-# (It would be very nice if someone could post a screenie of the available options : )

28-Aug-2008 Postbag from the Hedge
I can't see how this matters. Possibly his parents were history buffs and wanted their son to be proud of his name? But regardless, there are like 9 guys named pete and several other name overlaps, so unless you feel like pointing all of them out, don't even consider this. Lest you prove the KBD right that we are unconcerned with what matters. Well it doesn't matter, I agree with you there, but I just think Jagex is trying to keep double names out of the game, except for the Pete family, and Polnivneach, cause those are jokes. How else can you explain names like Aeonisig Raispher, Heironymus Avlafrim or Polmafi Ferdygris!?

kar-ah-jah-mah? kare-a-jama? how do you say those odd places
I too find it weird that people mispronounce or misspell Runescape names, even I as a Dutchman get 'em right. A friend of mine used to play RS as well, and he always said 'Karamaja', and I always corrected him, but he never learned  As for my list of names: Karamja = Kah Ram Ja (<= a Dutch J, not an American one) Ardougne = Ar Don Je (<= same as above) Lumbridge = Lumbridge (difficult that one  ) Varrock = Farrock Burgh de Rott = Burk de Rot (sounds kinda Dutch, so I don't have any difficulty with it) Gu'Tanoth = same Tirannwn = Tear Ann Wn Lletya = Letlia (wrong I know, but Lletya sounds horrible in Dutch) Misthalin = Mithaldin (got that one wrong from the early years, think it sounds better ;) )

Degrading black marks and more!
Hmm those degrading black marks sound cool, I sure hope they're not just for banned people and guys with 8+ bm's, like this thing Mod Dave does atm, cause I've got 5 black marks for nothing. -.- When someone asked if RSHD was Runescape 3, I joked that ' It r rs3 gimme ur pass n I meek u memb!!1!1!'... And BAM! some program nailed me on the words 'gimme ur pass', or some weird person reported me... I regret it every day...

28-Aug-2008 Postbag from the Hedge
He is an NPC that can be found in varrock castle, he is very pro-saradomin. I think he appears somewhere in the myreque story line. Ya i know him, but im just saying that this is the first time we hear his real name (correct me if im wrong) and for some reason i find that name kinda fishy, come on...Aeonisig??? A name with history, I'm sure. I don't like it either, but Jagex has to make up more and more unusual names, as the plain ones like Bob and Pete are long taken. But the npc in the game was always named 'Aeonisig Raispher', it's not like we've just found out his name. The danger from the north is more probable to be the Mahjarrat than the Penguins, now that other people mention them. And the 'take their heads' bit may be telling that we need to take out the leaders of the four evils... :ohnoes: (btw, I already found a mistake in Jagex's npc naming: the guy above the GE, watching the beacon, is called Waldo. But Waldo was the son of the legendary Hero Wally, who lived several hundred years ago, if I'm not mistaken.)

28-Aug-2008 Postbag from the Hedge
Wow, that I didn't think of that  A brilliant idea! This would mean that we (at least) get a sequal to those Quest lines, namely Cold War, Monkey Madness, Myreque and Mourners, and maybe the Mega Quest will revolve around some (or all) of them!

28-Aug-2008 Postbag from the Hedge
http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=postbag_33 [hide=] [/hide] Nice reading and funny jokes, but what interests me is the following sentence: After the announcement of the Mega Quest, and Jagex advising us to look everywhere for hints, I'm looking at this strange quote from a 'hidden hint' angle. What does it say? What knowledge does it contain?!? The KDB is saying that in the North, East, West and South sits danger.... And what about that 'taking their heads'? Are there four legendary dragons on the edges of the map we have to slay and decapitate?

The Wise Old Man - An Unsolved Mystery...POST ALL EVIDENCE!
Well about that farmer stuff, thats mentioned in the Legend of Arrav, in the Lores section on the website. He leaned how to fight hunt and farm. The artefact he was searching for is the Shield of Arrav, made by teh Imcando Dwarves. Randas isn't Iban. Iban is a Black Knight who died and was resurrected by a witch. Randas was an adventurer who was tempted by Zamorak (maybe by Iban), but couldn't handle the power given to him. Now he is one of the Soulless in the Pass. Mentioned in a post above this one. I think he is trying to protect you by denying her existence. After all, dealing with a sphinx is risky, cause when you don't give the right answer or offend her, she punishes you without mercy... But when he sees that you've already seen her, he just says to be extremely careful. Everyone is afraid of Zaros, cause he was a terrible God and merciless against his enemies. I think I've read something about that even speaking of his name can get him out of his banishment or at least strengthening him. Furthermore, Guthix doesn't have a gender, and therefore is an 'it'. Yep, he's a liar. Stated above. Path: "I'd just like to ask you something" -> "Something to do with you..." -> "Your retirement" I think he will attack the Tower, but thats just me.[/hide]

Guthixian Edicts
Eh? The portal in Meeting History is the World Gate? I'm not sure... The humans came through that portal, which means it leads to the original human dimension. The fact that the ancient elves didn't know about humans before the 'Meeting History' discovery, means that they originate from different planes. So the Elves coulnd't have come from that portal too, except if the portal could switch to what dimension it leads. Furthermore, I think the Elven world gate stood somewhere in Tirannwn, because the Elves never travelled over the Arandar Mountains before building their capital. So I think it's like this: Humans from human dimension through Meeting History portal in Asgarnia or Misthalin, Elves from Elven dimension through World Gate in Tirannwn.

Guthixian Edicts
I seem to remember that one of the other gods (Sara? Or that curse of Zaros'?) booted Zammy from the realm, and he only returned once he became a god (note that means he was not a god directly after defeating (sort of) Zaros), and after that he and the other gods wiped out most of the remaining Zaros followers. Then along came the God Wars, and Guthix waking up, and then we all know what happened. But 1) Is it Zammy the Mourners are trying to bring in, or perhaps one of his generals (like the gwd boss), or even another god/almighty being. They could even intend to re-oen the world gate, and bring in some enemy of Seren, sort of like Zammy is the enemy of Sara. Of course, opening the world gate would probably piss Guthix off, given that It was probably the one to close it, and the void knights (who serve Guthix's ideals) spend all their time closing portals, but if they were isolated at the time of the God Wars, they might not even know about the Edicts. 2) Do the Guthixian edicts specifically forbid the gods moving to the material world? They forbid interference, but if one were to enter the world, would that count? He wouldn't be able to do anything, but who knows, maybe they intend to get the Stone of Jas and/or the Armadyl Staff, and kit him up to face Guthix. They would probably need to bring him here to do that. Yes, you're actually right on this one... I re-read all the books in my rl library ( :twss: ) and found that after Zamorak was stabbed and became 'more solid', he was banished by some god(s), and returned shortly after as a god. This information probably comes from the Shadow Robes Miniquest, which I have not yet completed, to my own regret. Answer to 1) In-game I only saw npc's talking about some 'Dark Lord' or something like that, but the RuneScape Wiki says that it is revealed they mean Zamorak. I think I saw somewhere that the Evil Iorwerth Clan supported Zamorak... :-k Answer to 2) I don't think the Guthixian Edicts forbid that, but Guthix itself did it. The Edicts only state that once good or evil becomes too relatively powerful, Guthix will come forth and reshape the world according to his original plans, destroying it in the process. But after It ended the Godwars, Guthix banished all Gods from this plane, and said that all quarrels must be fought out in the God Realm, and that they couldn't have any direct influence onto this world, except through followers. I compliment you on your knowledge of the Runescape Lores and History btw :

Jagex announces the most challenging quest to date.
That depends on how you are dealing with it. I don't think Zaros had much fun dealing with the Staff of Armadyl. Ooh nice reply *pats on shoulder* :

Jagex announces the most challenging quest to date.
Man, for a quest lover like me this is a gift from heaven! I think the quest will definitely contain the Stone of Jas, looking at all the new info about it the last few weeks: Eye of Saradomin, Meeting History, and the older hints in anagrams etc. That makes me excited, cause if your dealing with an ancient magical tool made by the Gods, your bound to have some fun! ;) :twss:
