  1. Allright that's what I'm talking about, yeah! Good one Dooku! Highfive? Anyway, people were right about it being a solid green landmass, and I was wrong with the brown coast part... but it does have brown edges :P To Soulattacker, I don't understand why they program (or whatever) a piece of land right next to the real world, with it's edge even touching the ocean, all for a POH. That doesn't sounds like something Jagex would do :? . All the other dimensional thingies are placed far away from the main world.
  2. It wasn't exactly an island, you just couldn't walk into the area where hunting now is, so you had to take a boat. However, at some point before they added hunter you could see the fairy ring and some other stuff just south of Piscatoris. That said, Witchaven was added to in as a bump in the coastline outside East Ardougne where before there had only been sea. The rock prison was also only water untill Jagex made the Rocking out Quest. Moss le'Harmless was just a square piece of land in the blackness before Trouble Brewing arrived. I kept wondering what it could be, and why it wasn't surrounded by land or water or whatever. I was one of the lucky people who had seen the map leak, and I'm not really sure about the images here. Yes it was rectangular and green, much like the one shown here, but I also seem to remember a bit of a sandy brown coastline, instead of a solid green landmass. But thats just me, maybe I'm horribly wrong :) . Anyway I'm hoping a new continent will pop up, I'm tired of all the new updates being squeezed in between existing game content :? . It's only a matter of time really, because the Eastern Lands have to arrive sometime. I don't think the Ogre lands will connect to the Elven ones, because that causes a problem: The Elven Lands are so mysterious because you can't get there without tremendous effort. A Mountain, a Poison Waste, a huge ocean, nice. Placing a new mountain range in the Ogre Lands so the Elves stay sheltered is always an option, but if Gielenor expands to the west it becomes easier and easier to just take a rowing boat or whatever and paddle to the Elves. In my opinion a possible continent to the west has to have a seriously huge ocean between it and us, otherwise it causes all sorts of complications. One thing Jagex could do is surround Tirannwn with enchanted rocks/isles (like in the Silmarillion), so it stays sheltered from that side. Then Trader Stan would earn my respect big time, and I'll nominate him for Sailing Cape Seller  .
  3. I'll just point out some faults in your story, so others won't get confused: The Runecrafting altars are all in their own seperate dimensions. The sheer power emanating from them causes them to warp the dimensional fabric around them and they create pocket dimensions. So in a way it is weird that you're able to see another altar from the one one you're in. The ZMI did not create the Ourania Altar, they found and occupied it before others could. Maybe, at one time, it was a normal Runecrafting Altar, but it broke and the magic went chaotic. The Astral Altar is like any other altar, and it would have been in it's own dimension if it wasn't for the Moonclan. They use their Lunar Magic to 'flatten' the dimensional fabric which the Runecrafting magic warps and folds. This way, the Astral Altar stays in our dimension.
  4. Exactly, it even says that at the beginning of the article. This is the history as tought to the people of rs. Don't forget that without doing all the quests, we wouldn't know this stuff, so most of the characters in rs (lvl 2 men etc) probably still think that is the norm. (if they could think) Yup you're right, as is Le Fay: It's not a fault nor a 'flub' (whatever that may be), it's quite a clever thing Jagex did here. No human remembers the first ages of RuneScape, it was a long time ago, almost no written documents survived to this day, and in the years numerous people took advantage of the gullability of the common people and changed the stories a bit. Especially the 'Holy' Church of Saradomin. They have a tendency to tell the tales so they come out better -.- . This is the history most people have learned when growing up, and it's a rare privilege that we, as commoners, may uncover the real truth.
  5. [hide=][/hide] Seems to be much more clear without fullscreen... That was what I meant in my last post, with extending. Fullscreen is all nice, but you can manipulate an internet browser to show more ;) Btw I have no idea what this could be... :? It does look like a boat, as mentioned before, but are we sure? It could be something else... Although the map doesn't really suggest a hallway imo. Maybe someone should check out the underground areas of West Ardougne, both the Temple of Light area and especially the old basements of the city. Those basements and the Rat Pits are both old places, and Jagex used to try and place dungeons as correct as possible. Keep up the good work all :)
  6. Weird... Have you extended your screen as much as possible?
  7. Just to be sure: Do you really mean west of Ardougne docks, aka the Ardougne Sewers, as I relatively often see people mistaking west for east and vice versa. Because if you made that mistake, and you actually meant east of Ardougne dock, then you're talking about Witchhaven dungeon.
  8. This thread could use a good post... I've been looking around the various Runecrafting Altars (only the f2p ones really, as I'm not a member :x ), and I've seen some interesting stuff... Ofcourse I saw the Air Altar from the Mind Altar, and the Fire Altar from the Earth Altar, but that's already been mentioned in this thread. A new thing is that I could see something else south of the Earth Altar, probably the Air Altar, but I can't be sure. All I see is a few squares of grass :? . Also, I could see a weird black floor west of the Air Altar, but I don't think we can do anything with that. i'll post it anyway: Something new I found were the two basements of Draynor Manor, which lie closely next to eachother, but not in the good order. The eastern basement lies west of the other, if you understand. Here's a picture: You can see the Dwarven Mine below Falador from Count Draynor's basement too: And finally, you can see Taverley Dungeon from the Dwarven Mine: All and all fairly logical if you look at it geographically, except for the two Draynor Manor basements being swapped :
  9. Can't be, that one got a makeover and it's all grey and dark now... Maybe it's best if you start by mentioning where you are ;) EDIT: and your 'BOOM' signature contains a spelling error... it's 'there', not their
  10. Thanks mate ;) And I agree with you, RuneScape has a lot of history, both on a small scale like the founding of Varrock, and on a near-global scale like the Godwars. I became the unofficial 'historian' because I like all those different tales. Too bad I haven't done WGS yet, still need to do like 5 quests... And I don't like to spoil the whole thing by reading a guide, so I'm basically blank on everything unveiled in that quest :?
  11. I believe thats Pest Control, by the Red Portal the ground turns Fleshy-Red. Or it's a Test-Control. Because, theres no Sea... Maybe the Gnomecopter copy? I don't know if that one's an island too.
  12. I'll go. I found nothing special, sorry. There *must* be some other red areas... but where? :? Thanks for you effort anyway, all in the name of knowledge :) You know, I think you're right! It would make sense, as that rift lies to the southeast of Varrock Sewers. Great! The map of Tolna's Dungeon perfectly lines up with the piece visible from the Sewers. Thanks man :D Warriormonx, don't forget to change the hiding tag title of the 'Varrock Sewers - Abyss' picture, and I'd appreciate it if you'd credit mega Vegeta6, Tiigon... and me 8-). P.S. If you're interested, I have made correct maps of Varrock Sewers - Dungeon of Tolna, and the two Abyssal Areas.
  13. I'm having trouble placing the 'Varrock Sewers - Abyss' picture posted by Z8w. I myself made a map of the Abyss and Abyssal Area together, with help from a picture posted here by Homer205, but if I look at the piece of Abyss visible from Varrock Sewers, I can't place it anywhere! It has to be a northwest edge of either the Abyss or Abyssal Area, but the space between the two is too little for the Sewer to be there. Furthermore, if the Sewer was between them you would've been able to see the Area from the Sewer too. So my conclusion is that the mystery part has to be the Abyssal area. But I can't find a place where the map of the Area looks like the map seen from the Sewer... Maybe someone (I'm f2p atm) can visit the Abyssal Area or even the Abyss, walk to the northwestern edge and look for the Varrock Sewers. A screenshot too would be great, so I can integrate it into my map :
  14. Use ship of lokar searunner to get to the isle with the moss giants, it could be that one because that isnt on the map Pirates' Cove is on the map, between Neitiznot and Lunar Isle...
  15. I've encountered some things on my travels, although both of them are rather logical: Here I'm standing in the Experiments Cave below Castle Fenkenstrain, and I can see the Skullball course which lies beneath northern Mort Myre. So these dungeons are placed as they should be, if you look at the map. In this picture you see me standing in the Fairy Resistance Hideout during Fairy Tale part II, and in the distance I can see the Fairy Shop in Zanaris. So the hideout lies just next to the city.
  16. Because of the telescope, my dear friend. With it you can see any meteorite falling towards our planet ;) P.S. See my signature? See what it says? Good  Hmm I wasn't aware that you could use that telescope to search for meteorites. Is there any benefit to using that telescope instead of the telescope in your player owned house? Does it give more precise readings? Hmm odd, I did some research, and found that I can no longer trust the Runescape Wiki for a 100% (or something close to that). The Observatory can't be used to see shooting stars, rather there is a scoreboard there listing the last five stars and the ones who found them. I rectified the fault.
  17. This Postbag is like 2 years old or something. I'm sure Acheron will be revealed some day, but it's been a very long time since something has been heard about it :| And I think that wallpaper's supposed to depict Waterbirth island, so the lands on the horizon must be in the southwest AKA the Lighthouse/Piscatoris. EDIT: Although 2 years was a guess, I checked; it's 1.5 years... Ancient :P
  18. Because of the telescope, my dear friend. With it you can see any meteorite falling towards our planet ;) P.S. See my signature? See what it says? Good
  19. That's an awsome idea. I'd love to see them implementing it : NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! Grapples were the worst idea Jagex could of come up with. Please, add a small agility jump or a bridge that needs agility. Anything other than wasting inventory space for a shortcut. I never use grapples because they are so inconvenient vs. their usefulness. Yes, I believe that it would be better. But the main idea is getting an agility shortcut there, which would be ! I agree with this idea, it has good potential! It's always a pain in the arse for me to get to southern Morytania, either for a Quest or whatever. No teleports, boatroutes, nothing! And I don't even Barrow, so it must really stink for the ones who do. This provides a quick and easy way to reach the parts of Morytania below Mort Myre, exactly what it needs to liven up. But one thing! The whole quest structure of Morytania is created so that the player discovers Morytania bit by bit, beginning with Canifis and Fenkenstrain's Castle, via Mort Myre, to Mort'ton and Burgh de Rott. So this agility shortcut has to have a quest req, otherwise people will do the Nature Spirit quest without having to enter Mort Myre at all, or they'll be able to bank at Burgh de Rott before they can enter the whole of Morytania! I'm thinking In Aid of the Myreque as the req.
  20. I like these kind of threads, they make me notice the beauty of some of RuneScape's areas :). Maybe I'll post some of my own images here, but Morytania is my main favourite and you already have some good ones there :. P.S. It's spelled Tirannwn, and Sorceress's Garden :P
  21. There are many 'dead' places around RuneScape which aren't used by anyone, because there are better cities to do things or simply because of their inaccessibility. But one things what has been bugging me for years is that everything in RuneScape is so freaking cramped! For example Edgeville and Barbarian Village are almost one town, with the Stronghold of player Safety in between them. I think it would be a good idea to program (or whatever they do) some more space between settlements in Gielenor. It would help create the feeling of really travelling the woods and barren lands between cities, instead of barging through someone's backyard to get to the next town, which should be 'miles away'.
  22. The minimap looks like it's part of Falador Castle. It does look like Falador Castle, but I don't know. I don't remember any portal in there. Maybe it's the Champion's Arena, the one under the Champion's Guild :?:
  23. I'm kinda happy about the whole Upgrade Year thing, cause some areas desperately need one! Like Salarin the Twisted (mentioned earlier), Burthorpe & the Troll Country, the Gnome Stronghold, the list goes on and on! :( And I'd like it if some of those long-awaited updates finally arrive, like the Eastern Lands, Acheron, Kudos Isle or entrance to Prifddinas. =P~ But that's only a fool's hope... For now I'd be happy with a new Morytania Quest, cause I just love that storyline
