I'd use the old void, as rune defender with CLS is beastly compared to barrows gloves with CLS. But on the other hand, max strength gear would probably be better.

Sell bcp and tassets, and buy fury, berserker ring, whip and verac's skirt. Also buy a ton of ppots, get your hands on a proselyte body, and complete a task pietying, with a single inventory of pots. Go ahead and start using Kuradal :)

Was never a moneysink, it's just really expensive, but worth every gp.

What are you talking about? It almost has the same stats as whip lol. It's two-handed and only trains controlled and defensive. No defender makes it a lot weaker. A lot weaker yes. But "overall isn't very good" is a straight lie.
