I completely agree, but he only wants one weapon. Rapier can basically be used everywhere, while maul and cls have more limited good uses - say slayer or frosties. Rapier is decent at all the places cls and maul (except waterfiends) shines, while cls and maul barely can keep up with Rapier where Rapier shines. (Didn't mention Ccbow, as you should probably only get that as your first and only chaotic if you're a dedicated Kree-killer.)
