  1. Fun story. Since coming back, I've done some slayer. Been looking forward to getting an Elite clue to see what they're like. Gone from sitting just at 99 slayer to 14m slay xp, not a SINGLE Elite clue. I'm grumbling about this in IRC, while slaying, when all of a sudden.... But wait, what's that in the background there? 2 hard clue scrolls in a row :wall: Well played Jagex, well played. :wall:
  2. yes, but it isn't the most efficient way to kill yourself.
  3. Good luck with your RC, you have a long road ahead of you. :) Your 0 post-count confuses me.
  4. Lol you're right I guess, I do things MY way which is quite an unusual one XD - it doesn't involve the most efficient way or max xp/h at all sometimes. However, I'd appericiate it if a few peeps could stop painting me off as an afker lol - seeing as I've done non afk skills for atleast 2 years straight. I had my own way of setting up my hunter box formation which was more efficient than any other setup - seeing as I gained 150k hunt xp/h with chins sometimes (this did require 100% attention). Moved onto combat after that, I never afk'd this either unlike some people do at abby demons/az. As for Langers comment about slow and fast streaks, I've always worked hard for 18h a day, I just didn't train the fastest skills and I didn't exactly use the fastest way to train them either. You can be as efficient as you want at abby demons but the exp just won't stand out, no matter how long a day you train there. Having done some sw while going for 200m str, sure, to the common eye it might seem that I was having a slow streak, but I was just gaining zeal at that time, still working just as hard. Wc is a 'break' skill, I'd rather take it easy and still gain exp instead of taking it easy and gain no exp at all. Imo, THAT'S efficient to me. Some people take a break and go play/do something else, not playing rs at all when they do that, probably the guys who are all about the max xp/h and most efficient ways to train a skill haha. At such times I'm not gonna stress that I'm not clicking the next ivy straight away after I cut one down lolol  . Basically comes down to the quoted comment: 'That being said, whatever he's doing, it's working.' :shades: Alot can be said about the 'How to lead your life' subject, but seeing as there's several sides involved in it and none of them are gonna change their view on it, it's a pointless discussion lol. Just mind your own business and don't critisize others I'd say, and go back on topic amgggg! Was a serious pain reading through them new pages loll XD About them cave crawlers, how much range xp/h would that be using void deflector + arma plate + void gear and ccbow/broad bolts, cannoning them? Hoping someone has a rough idea so I won't have to go and try it out myself *lazy* \:D/ Heh, been alch/wc'ing teaks while reading through the forumns recently. Alch one + drop a couple, alt tab, rinse and repeat, or alch them all when i'm paying attention. Fast enough either way. Curious about the actual xp/h that's achieveable at the crawlers, you should test it out..... lazy. :P
  5. Awesome man keep it up! Thanks for the luck  what risk? that was like a 0.5% return flip. Yeah exactly there wasn't much of a risk on that one and hey 1.2m is 1.2m more than I would've gotten if I didn't merch :P Update on todays merch (sorry there wasn't that many I've been busy all day since being back from college) you should have tried buying the zgs pile for lower. :P
  6. Yeah they all instasold at the same time unfortunately :/. They were crashing when I bought them so I didn't suspect them to sell for that much more than mid :P ah, fair enough. :P you've motivated me to stop being so lazy and merch a bit more actively, i got lucky and made an extra 50k on each side of what you were trading claws at today. DFS had a ~380k margin on them too when i flipped some, good fun. Didn't expect such a margin on them tbh. Good luck getting to 300m, sure you'll get there soon enough. :) Money piles up allot quicker when you can have multiple offers for different 20m+ items in at the same time.
  7. Sometimes the way someone WANTS to spend their life isn't healthy. Not working and spending those 8/9/10 hours you'd work playing a game is not healthy, period. Being healthy is eating healthy, going to the gym and/or doing Multiple sports, have a girl/boyfriend, have a lot of social contacts etc. Sad but true is 95% of the top players do not have anything mentioned of the above. Might still be good for them to do what they want, does not mean it's healthy. There are many definitions of the word healthy, mentally healthy, fitness etc. Also where did you get the 95% figure of "top players" from? Unless you do a questionnaire of these "top players" you cannot confirm they dont have parteners, go the gym or have social contacts like you stated, making the point invalid. Also being a "top player" *sometimes* means you have the financial backing to do the expensive routes of training saving you hours a day as they value their time much higher. By doing these routes they can get daily xp in over half the time an average player could. This is where these players free up time and can do things in real life if they wish. Just because someone has a huge amount of xp doesnt mean they dont have a life. Your stereotyping players, as some might not do the things you stated while im pretty sure it's not 95%. Not stereotyping, if you play a game 10 hours a day, no social and popular person will like you, which means you'll get thrown out social groups etc.. Being social is not a requirement to be healthy, like pretty much all of the things you listed. Also it would be better to have friends with the same interests as you. If someone decides they don't like you because you play a game for that long, you probably wouldn't have much to talk about anyway. Forcing yourself to socialise with those people sounds stressful and pointless. Adding to the quote pyramid, but responding to Teamed. Hi. I'm ex-defence force. I currently play roughly 8 hours a day, and prior to that i was playing other online games for similar periods of time, while taking a break from Runescape. I have no financial need to work, and no intention to for a fair while. I read allot of uni-level nonfiction to keep my education going for my own intellectual fulfillment, I eat healthy throughout the day, I have a fast metabolism that enables me to do minimal working out to stay fit, and I'm currently living with my girlfriend who spends a good part of her day playing WoW. We'll socialise with our friends occasionally, but neither of us are exactly social butterflies that seems to fit this stereotype you think everyone should be conforming to. If you don't personally know any of the 'high-level' players, making assumptions about their lifestyles doesn't really contribute to this thread, even though it seemed to get extremely derailed a few pages ago anyway.
  8. Hope he's going to finally do some slaying, tbh. :P be nice to see what sort of daily xp rates he can manage in it.
  9. This, pretty much. If i'm not actively engaged in the game, i get bored. Staring at a fishing spot watching my inventory fill slowly over 5 minutes isn't fun, alching the fish while i fish them, however, is. I have fun pushing myself to go full speed, to see how fast i can go. The most fun I'll have doing agility is racing a friend that also wants to go full speed, there's nothing like some friendly competition to keep things interesting. When i finished off getting 99 mining recently, i heated and dropped the bars while doing it. AFK'ing mining is boring, and practising double and triple-dropping bars without losing any time for me is FUN. :) That said, i used juju mining potions, so that i could alt tab pretty much at will without slowing down the mining, within limits. Balance between nolife powergamer grinding, and occasional short AFK breaks, the perfect pace for me. People here need to remember that the top players aren't playing for you, they never have been, they play for THEMSELVES. Just because you enjoy tossing around xp/h numbers and 100% efficiency methods, doesn't mean they're going to enjoy using them for the 100% of the time they're logged in. Human beings, not machines. Also, i don't use mousekeys, because i've always seen it as botting with a jagex approved, smiley face sticker on it. Tapping a couple keys on your computer to click at (frankly) inhuman speed is something i have no interest in doing, i'd like to play at my own pace. I can log on whatever computer i want, load up runescape, and play, not have to whine about getting mousekeys set up. Just my $.02
  10. *Is alt-tabbed while slaying for fun, to respond* This, pretty much. Reminds me of a stand up comedian, who i'm paraphrasing, since i couldn't dig up a direct quote online. "I want professional athletes to be taking steroids, i pay to watch them, i want to see them performing at the peak of what is physically possible".
  11. some insta sold above the price you went to sell at and you didn't pull the offer out and throw it in for higher?
  12. Insane, 10/10. For curiosities sake, any chance you've kept track of how many clues you've done? If so, when you end up selling all that loot, average value per clue for the hard / elite ones would be nice. .....A part of me really wants to point out the cape / lack of defender / not cannoning them in their old area / using prot prayers WITH the shield, but... *bites lip* 65million. Let the naysayers spouting claims of inefficiency ever get that much slayer xp. Keep rocking those RSC stats, have fun getting to 70m. :shades:
  13. I suppose, but that's not a very broad market affecting every player in F2p now is it, apart from the inflation caused by rares. the demand exists whether or not the player has the gp to purchase the item. also rares do not cause inflation. they are simply more reactive to changes in price levels than other items, such as yew logs. Rares cause inflation; more so than any other item. Their demand determines their price, they have no value otherwise. Please refrain from arguing this point any further. Yes, as stated before and with my concurence, I myself think that there is no real incentive to obtain wealth over 5m in F2p. Golly Gosh, rares cause inflation? Clicky "The painting was first bought by John Hay Whitney in 1950 for US$30,000. On May 5, 2004 the painting was sold for US$104,168,000 at Sotheby's auction in New York City." Gee, i had no idea the American economy had inflated to roughly 3500 times what it was in the 50's. ;) Rares don't cause inflation, they just show how much money the rich have lying around to spend on stuff that's essentially useless, with no inherent value. (That's not a stab at art, I'm talking purely about rare items within runescape)
  14. I think Emerson pretty much hit the crux of the issue: people spending their days inside Daemonheim, means people are spending less time actually making money. Also, since no one else seems to have pointed it out, merching isn't making money, it's merely redistributing the wealth that's already in the system. Killing monsters / alching / pvp drops worth stupidly huge piles of money, is generally what brings money into the game. Finally, when the GE came out, people that used to stand around all day trading, got given the chance to use their time more efficiently: a few minutes at the GE, then run off and do whatever they fancy. I certainly do hope the current trend continues, a market with constant inflation is boring, and no one likes the idea of their pile of money being worth progressively less.
  15. Aww, got us curious now. ;)
  16. In all seriousness, i could never imagine my bank looking so, clean, tidy, and..... pretty. You are pretty.
  17. Oh man, no way, you can buy butterscotch chips? Do want.
  18. Favorite cape? Would have to be slayer, thoroughly enjoyed getting that up to 99, and the cape looks good. I'll get into the HLF eventually, just a matter of being logged in really, cash for maxing isn't an issue, it's just grinding the skills out, and getting dung up to the point where it's actually fast.
  19. Came back from a long break 2 weeks ago, just got 2400 total levels, with 99 mining. :) Done a fair few other things in the past 2 weeks as well. 99 Hunt (no screenie, was on gf's computer at the time), 14m smith / fletch, 13.5m slay, 19m HP, 15m farming, and a few random levels in skills. I'll start seriously working on dung in the near future, maybe before new years. Though, 99 craft / agil / wc / thieving first would be nice. Wait and see. Total play time is under 210 days, putting me over 64k xp/h while logged in; i like being efficient. Anyways, rate / hate / mas...
  20. LOL @ OP. Also; "What?" Something along the lines of "sweet, i don't suck in the future. What should i do different"
  21. Bumped into them while slaying a few days ago, pleasant surprise. Really though, i find it odd that more of the top players don't slay, it's the perfect way to get cheap total xp/h, and checking GE offers inbetween tasks is so simple.
  22. yea I'll probably get rid of it since im on my way to 88 summon which is great healing. Now are you saying dds are dragon dagger lol or something else? haha. I'm loving alll the advice and what not, thanks!!! But you have a great point to get higher prayer since i fight high level slayer creatures therefore i pray a lot. Great idea :D. might work on higher prayer and herblore since overloads would be awesome!!!! :D going all out with turmoil and overloads is what makes slayer, for me, so much fun. BIG NUMBERS are shiny shinies.
  23. 205 days 19 hours, just over 317m total xp, is a bit over 64k xp/h 64194, for people wanting the exact number as it stands now. It will keep rising, near maxed excluding dung, and i'll be working on that soon enough. I like being efficient with my time logged in. :)
  24. in that case, its probably better to cannon cave crawlers, black demons, or black dragons for effigies from an efficiency standpoint. Sure, if i didn't also want the extra slayer xp. ;) EDIT: Slayer is the only option.
