Favourite classic games?
This thread is now about the old gaming gems that you still love after all the years. I was browsing through my games collection when I came across this, remembering what a fantastic game it is I had to share it. It's an old game, made in 1990 or so but it is still my all time favorite, and if you look at reviews they have nothing but good things to say about it. It's made by lucasarts - the same company that made Indiana Jones, the star wars movies, force unleashed etc. It's an adventure puzzle game (a great but dead gaming genre) which requires lateral thinking. You cannot die, the whole storyline is puzzles. You pick up items in the game and have a list of commands you can do such as pick up, open, talk to, use etc. They are the types of puzzles that when you finally figure it out, you slap yourself in the head and think 'it's so logical, how did I not think of it.' One of the highlights is the insult sword fighting. The game is full of jokes but they are fairly subtle and you have to be almost looking for them to notice them. Monkey island is the game credited to bringing humor into video games, some people may not like the humor but I find it hilarious. From meeting the blind island lookout and bartering with a used ship salesman to befriending the vegetarian cannibals there are jokes throughout the whole game. If anyone here hasn't heard of the series I suggest reading a couple reviews and taking a look at the game, I know downloading games isn't talked about here but I think it's the only way to get it because I haven't seen it for sale in many years. There are 4 games in the series, but the first is easily the best as long as you can put up with the old graphics. You also need an emulator called scumvm to play it. Just don't use a walk through because it really will ruin the game. If you are the type who likes puzzles and lateral thinking, can appreciate subtle humor and realize graphics don't make the game than I am positive you will love the game. A lot of people here probably haven't heard of it but those who have can discuss how awesome it is.

I don't know anybody that has bought a pre built computer and has gotten a cd or recovery partition.

Racism speculation
If enough people spoke out about it, the world is stupid enough to add 'calling a redhead ginger' to the list of racist things. I don't see what's wrong with race stereotypes, we are in an age where everybody knows they aren't actually true. I get crap from friends and relatives in the states for being Australian all the time. Apparently Australia has the stereotype of being like crocodile dundee. I get told I butcher the english language when I talk, asked why I drive a carolla instead of 'taking a kangaroo,' and everyone not living in Australia seems to think we all use Australian slang. I tell them things like I usually ride kangaroos but I use the carolla to transport all the crocodiles I wrestle. I was in the states one time and went to taco bell, the guy there recognized my accent and said "put another shrimp on the barbie" looking at me like I knew what he was talking about. (I had only ever heard it once and had forgotten all about it) I know a tall redhead that calls himself Clifford, because he is a 'big red dog.' I know it's all in good fun and doesn't mean anything, I don't know anybody who doesn't joke around by encouraging their own stereotypes.

It is simple, assuming he has an installation cd. At least in Australia, if you buy a pre built computer you don't get a cd with it.

I don't think XP home has recovery. Using google would have found you an answer much quicker, but if he has an installation cd then put it in, boot up and change the boot priority in the bios to boot from cd before hard drive. Then just save and restart, and follow the prompts. If he doesn't have an XP cd than he can either buy an OEM copy fairly cheap from ebay, or obviously the slightly more... free method. He could try restoring, but I'm not sure that he can. I don't know a whole lot about it so I could be wrong.

One Click to "Attack" Always!!
Oops, I'll fix that in a second. It's not hacking btw, that word is used way too loosely. All I did was deob and refactor the client, than play with it by sending packets and editing things. If I log in with it I get banned within a week most of the time, I learn things and nobody gets hurt. iirc whether somebody has an attack option is based on area, and the way it's done means a lot of things would have to be redone to be able to make specific people attackable and others not, and making the attackable person unique to everyone. It's the same reason why all wielded items have operate when you right click them even if they don't do anything, the client doesn't support having specific items have operate. It's also why you can't right click a ring and select a destination, because the client only supports a certain amount of options when you right click. It sounds much less complicated than it is to fix, just because of how the game works. If I hadn't looked in the client I would have thought these things were possible.

Another rant about BH and in-game idiots..
I don't understand why people use protection prayers in 1vs1. If you turn on protection prayers so will they, it's not an advantage. All it really does is waste.

I hate my car...
I love my car, it's a 2002 toyota carolla. Not exactly the most masculine car but it's economical, reliable, and man it's got balls.

One Click to "Attack" Always!!
I could be wrong because I haven't played with the client in a while, but I'm pretty sure that's impossible because of how the game works.

One Click to "Attack" Always!!
People are frustratingly stupid.

One Click to "Attack" Always!!
I posted this a while ago but it got deleted with the rollback. I don't see why being a higher level should have any more advantages than say, being a higher level? It is an advantage in itself, they don't need any more bonuses. It's optional.

With this update I might actually start playing again if it's f2p, but I doubt it will be.

Getting In Shape.
You seem to be misreading my post, or you completely missed my reply to Darksavior69. Most of what you've said I have already answered. Yes I know you cannot physically 'tone' muscle, that muscle doesn't 'turn into' fat, I know that muscle doesn't grow differently and that more muscle burns more calories. You are misinterpreting my posts and focusing on the flaws you see in how I explained it rather than my actual points. I won't go back over them but feel free to read my posts again and understand them better. Very sweaty yes, heart rate is higher, but it's a fraction of what it is after running sessions which was a point I made. How about I do a lot of running which has given me a fast metabolism, which burns calories much faster than just having muscle. I then do weights and gain muscle, which appears toned because I have a fast metabolism from running which burns the calories before being stored? Then If I don't do weights and still have my huge appetite, I won't gain lose muscle and gain fat because of my running. Running won't make you skinnier unless you already have enough fat, my legs have gained a lot of muscle from running relative to the little amount of weigh lifting I did at the time.

If you already have a fast metabolism then I would still suggest some running, but doing crunches and arch's (keeping yourself supported with your toes and forearms) should give you abs. Flys, push ups, bench press etc will do your pecs. Men are naturally attracted to looks. The only males who say otherwise are either in denial, they have been forced to settle for less, or have high horse issues. Women are naturally attracted to personality. Specifically, survive and reproductive values. Good looks alone will only get shallow women, but looking your best will help with all women. Not as much as personality, but it still helps.

Getting In Shape.
I never said anything that contradicted that, and I did mention doing beep tests which does improve VO2 max and cardiovascular health. By muscle turning into fat, I meant that having the muscle, and the working out will give him a huge appetite, if he stops or slows down with the weights he will still have that appetite but won't use up the calories. The muscle will be lost and fat will be gained. This also hasn't contradicted what you've said. No they won't, with all the extra eating he will gain fat with the muscle. Weights won't burn calories as much as fitness. The main idea of weight training to burn fat is that the more muscle the body has, the more energy it requires. The fitness work will burn off the fat and make the muscle appear more tone. Also, metabolism does work like that.

Getting In Shape.
He said he isn't in shape, doing weights and eating doesn't make one fit. It will work to bulk him up, but what about when he doesn't want to do as much weights anymore, or he is at the size he wants? If he bulks up quickly, and then slows down it turns into fat because he isn't burning the calories to match his then huge appetite. If he bulks up a little slower but gets fit, his metabolism speed will shoot up and his muscles will be tone and have shape rather than just be big, and he will easily burn off the unused calories he will eat when he slows down with the weights. Of course a little fitness work should continue afterward, but that's just common sense. Also high reps of lower weights targets a different energy system which burns fat, which in turn tones muscles. You can't target areas but the fat comes off regardless.

Building bulk without fitness or at least toning isn't a good idea because it turns into fat easily without the faster metabolism to go with it.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
I bought some Microsoft points today and got the song pack with soothsayer, it was a heck lot easier to finish than I thought it would be. The only challenging bit would be the second long solo where you don't have any star power - took me 2-3 tries to get that bit and now I can do it easily. That Steve Vai song is pretty good though I haven't finished it. I've only tried it twice and gotten pretty far so I'm confident I'll get it in 1 or 2 more tries. Who can finish the downloadable boss battles? For some reason I find them harder to do than when I'm actually doing a battle. Or maybe that's just because today was the first time I played in like 6 months and I'm hell rusty :?

How do you sleep?
I don't sleep too well. For years I used to sleep on my front-ish side with my elbow tucked under me, probably part of the reason why my back is so bad now. Now I sleep on my side but I have problems with tight muscles, and often wake up with numb arms. It was scary the first couple times - I tried to shake it out and then thought somebody was hitting me in the face in the middle of the night, but it turned out to be my numb arms.

The bible
The whole idea of Christianity is brilliant. As george carlin (I think it was him) said: Religion rakes in billions of tax free dollars every year and it controls the way people act. It's the greatest legal scam that has and probably ever will happen.

Getting In Shape.
I'm an athlete and here's a couple things off the top of my head that works for me: Push up and crunch ladders - Do a push up, run 20m and do a crunch, run back and do 2 push ups, run 20m and do 2 crunches etc. I go up to 15 but you might want to start on 10. Beep test/shuttle run - Basically you download an mp3 file, which is a guy talking like this: "level 1, 1.... *beep* level 1, 2.... *beep* .. etc .. level 1, 10.... *beep*.. level 2, 1... " etc You run 20m, and aim to hit the 20m line on the beep, then turn around and run back. The first time I did this test I was in grade 8 and horribly unfit, I managed to get level 10.5. How high you can get is mostly willpower, but it gets you fit pretty quickly if you do it once a week. 10 by 200m - I'm not going to lie, this sucks. Easily my least favorite training session. The idea is to pick a time to run 200m in 10 times with a strict 2 minute recovery between them. (It takes 2 minutes for your lactic acid energy system to replenish) Any longer than 2 minutes and the session quickly becomes less effective. I run each in 31 seconds, but you'll want to start off with 37-38. When you get to around the 8th rep you feel like you can't possibly finish, but your body can always work much harder than you think it can. The best way to do this is mark out halfway points, and aim to hit your halfway mark halfway through the time allowed for each rep. I can use our school gym pretty much whenever, if you don't have access to equipment you might want to consider getting a gym membership. Bench press, shoulder press, curls, squats and flys is what I mostly concentrate on. Cycling is also good, I rode to school everyday from grade 5-7 and I got big toned legs from it. (68cm around at the top with only a tiny pinch of fat atm) The running I do has helped me keep them.

Fable 2: Pub Games
In fable 1 I just did that thing where you buy a house and break the door, and then put a trophy in the case, sell it, take the trophy out and repeat.

Guitar Hero IV:World Tour - 100% REAL track list is up!
Oh really? I'll have to get it back off my mate and get a month trial of live. Do I need to buy Microsoft points for it? If so how many?
