  1. If I had $0 I would firstly be wondering how I gained $6000, and then be happy that my car is paid off.
  2. Gambling is hardly modern. What else do you think soldiers in that era did with their money besides buying grog? I like the idea but it wouldn't be implemented. Learning to count cards is at least more useful than clicking monsters.
  3. I would pay off my car, go to flying school, have the party of the year and invest most of the rest in a house.
  4. What do you mean by default? If you mean run the operating system installed on that hard drive, you need to change the boot priority in your bios. (wait for the prompt and hit delete when you boot up) I have 2 hard drives and don't use the master/slave jumpers - one has all my software and my computer boots on that, the other has all my files.
  5. 6-7 on school nights, on weekends and holidays 10-12. If it suited my schedule I would try polyphasic sleep.
  6. You guys should just drop it and be the bigger man, you're both acting like kids. You aren't witty, and you're both really just embarrassing yourselves. As far as the legal side is concerned, you have no legal leverage over your account, because it is the property of Jagex. Locking your account is not taking advantage of you, just like locking anybody else s account isn't taking advantage of them. I don't understand where you made that connection. If you got your lawyer involved, they would unlock your account rather than go to court. Not because they have any obligation to, but because the whole you being disabled thing and having your account locked while in a coma would give them bad publicity.
  7. Couple letdowns off the top of my head: Monkey island 3+4 (Though they were great, they had a different designer to 1+2 and had a completely different feel) Deus Ex 2 (hoping the third will be good) Halo 2+3 AOE 3
  8. I might check it out, but I would really prefer kotor3. I'm hoping it has an offline campaign as well as online play, though chances are it won't be.
  9. Pfft, TTFAF is for chumps. on GH2 > TTFAF. Arthritis is probable.
  10. From what I've read, they didn't appreciate it but they didn't get hung up about it either. It was the only lifestyle they knew, so they had nothing to compare it to. If you were all of a sudden treated badly, you wouldn't be happy about it, but you would most probably accept it if you were treated badly your whole life without fail because it wouldn't contrast with anything.
  11. Obviously things are different in different cultures, but you can't use culture as an excuse for lack of basic human rights! I don't think there's much wrong with what the parents did in this example but if you can call anything fine just because it's someone's culture, how far will that go? Basic human rights is also relative. It's said in the article, what happened is common. The only reason why it even made the news is because she acted upon it and it was heard about from a reporter. While everyone in our culture disagrees with what happened, people in their culture see it as everyday business. To answer your question, it will go as far as the culture will allow. It wasn't long ago when any crime a black person was accused of, he/she was guilty of. Unfair to us now, but back then it was the extend of his or basic rights and everyone saw it as everyday business.
  12. While what happened is obviously wrong in our society, realize that morals and ethics are relative.
  13. Did anyone consider the fact that some people might have actually wanted a santa suit? I voted for the santa suit because I thought it was slightly less lame than the rest of them, the fact that I bought a santa when It was only like 11.6m and it is now rising is just a bonus.
  14. Yeah, I was going to suggest noscript. It's not your fault if you want your browser to be a little extra secure, and the ads happen to be the flash/javascript that noscript blocks. If you're worried you can't get banned, there is no way for jagex to legally know.
  15. See, you've managed to completely misinterpret my post. While I could point out the difference between the amount of people earning 100k a year playing sport and 100k a year playing games, my point was that video games aren't sports, and said nothing about the lives of top gamers. Just because they earn 100k a year it doesn't make them athletes, which is why your whole post is completely irrelevant. I am also talking majority. The majority of gamers who play more than 4 hours a day, won't get anywhere. Which is why I think it's pointless, as in my opinion you gain nothing from it. It's not what I was talking about, but I would also like to add that by playing sports, you gain social skills, competitiveness, fitness, knowledge about your body etc, with gaming you don't gain a whole lot and you can decline in health and real life social skills by making a habit of playing video games this much. The point that I originally made is that I'm an athlete, I do this for fun, fitness etc. People play games for fun and whatever else, but they aren't athletics or sports. Just for the record, I'm a sprinter not football player.
  16. Football is just a game. So are a lot of other things, I don't see what you're trying to say here. Exert is a little extreme, playing the wii is exercise but not a whole lot relative to most actual sports.
  17. You could get 80 range and tank at aviansies.
  18. Sport: "An athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature." Anyone who considers playing video games to be a sport or athletics needs to remove head from sphincter and stop taking games so seriously. I train 4-6 times a week, until I feel like I am about to collapse, then train some more. Running until I throw up is seen as a good thing by my trainer. I am an athlete - somebody with often little social life who sits at home and plays games is not. Nerd works, or pro gamer if they want to try and tell themselves they aren't wasting their time.
  19. I have 60 def and 90 range, and the only armor I use is a dragon skirt, black dhide top and vambs with a rune kite. This easily keeps me going using bones to peaches, and I can always last until I run out of bolts. In short you really shouldn't have a problem.
  20. I haven't bought/owned a rare since they were worth next to nothing. I now have 11.8m which is ge price of santas, they bottomed out at 11.4-5m and are rising. I'm planning on not playing runescape for a while and wouldn't mind investing in a rare. Can someone experienced with the rare market advise me on whether it's a good time to buy one? I just noticed green masks are in my price range, would this be worth buying? Or should I wait until it bottoms out?
  21. I've done a few trips using prayer pots and while it's still good money, it's more work having to keep them aggressive, being abused for fighting them until they are low and letting poison kill them, having to keep switching worlds so I get maximum kills per p pot etc. I'm wondering if I can tank them efficiently with my low defense - efficiently being making around the same profit as I would using prayer pots which I think is around 700k My stats are 90 range and 60 defense, with 82 hp, I would really rather not getting 70 defense because I'm still not sure about the way the account is going for f2p bounty hunter. Any advise on what to wear if I could do it efficiently? Also I was thinking about getting the bones to peaches spell, I don't know anything really about the mini game for it so can I get a rough estimate of the cost and time it takes? Cheers

It has nothing to do with Java, which is one of the more powerful languages. It's the fact that the game is browser based. Large downloads are also now not so much of a limitation because instead of downloading large rendering, we now download algorithms so our own machines can make the renders. With this method and the powerful new game engine, Jagex can do pretty much whatever they want with Runescape.
  23. Don't get a mac for gaming, just don't. As said, alien ware is a ripoff. If you really don't want to build your own, go to a decent computer parts store, (such as game dude in Australia) give them a budget and they will help you pick out parts, and charge you $60 or so to build it for you. You will end up with much more for your money than if you buy from dell or alien ware. Right click on my computer, properties, advanced, environment variables, and under system variables click path, and then edit. Go to the end of the line and put in ";C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin" without the quotes. Before you do it, make sure that is in fact the path of your bin folder, different paths need to be separated with a semi colon.
  24. Damn. Which I had been paying more attention.
  25. Wait, chinning now works again at ape atoll?
